Hi all -

We all know guys can get addicted to camming, but I don't don't see much on how addictive performing on cam can be for the models themselves (if i missed a good thread let me know). Certainly money plays a part, but I am more interested in the emotional side. How addictive can it feel for a model? I don't necessarily mean a more clinical addiction, but I don't mean to exclude it either.

Thanks for comments.

I've never hard of this nor experienced this happening. I'm sure it exists, and I don't have a huge amount of information to take from. But I want to say I dontd think its really that common. I know a lot of people who love their job and a lot of people who feel burnt out from it but I've not personally heard of someone being addicted to the emotional/attention aspect.

I enjoy setting myself goals and hitting them, whether those are income related or time spent online etc. I'm not sure I would say that I'm "addicted" though, motivated might be a better word? Emotionally I enjoy spending time with people who regularly visit my room and building relationships with those people, that's what makes camming really enjoyable for me :)

I think it can most definitely be addicting for models - money, social interaction, a constant stream of compliments, the validation from tokens/money to spend time with you, the feeling of having a purpose, the competition, the dream of making it to the top, the feeling of moving forwards in life, towards something - without ever having to leave your house.

A well known mfc model posted recently on twitter an answer to the question about where she gets her “work ethic” from (she spends a LOT of time on cam.) She said she was just as addicted as the members, she was just lucky to be on the token-receiving end of things.

I think the possibility of camming/clips is the rush. Knowing that if you show up you could leave with some large sum or knowing that the clip you put up today could be a best seller is exciting. Kind of like gambling. Definitely money based. I don't imagine many women who want extra attention from men have to cam to get it. Just stepping out your door to go to lunch or put gas in your car can get women that.
