I've always hated days "off", I think it's cuz I associate taking a day "off" with having to sit around and be still.
Someone tell me it's OK, to take a day "off", to go pussy-balls to the wall on something else, and it still counts šŸ˜†
Days off are where you're supposed to do what makes you the most happy and relaxed! So whatever that means, that's what you should do.

Tomorrow's the year anniversary of my neighbor showing up w/ a date. They were on my doorstep, with a shit ton of food claiming; "the flyer said the party was here". So I "went along with it" for 2-3 hours, thinking he was just joking and wanted to hang out. He loves socializing, and he's sarcastic and jokey. So it didn't seem odd to me. Every little while he'd ask in his jolly, loud way; "where's everyone else at?". And I would think it was like a sarcastic joke we were going along with, and be like "oh yeah, they're all out back waiting on ya haha". Then after 3 hours, I see all these people outside and realized that he was being literal, and there was a huge block party going on šŸ˜† šŸ˜† . Poor guy šŸ˜† I can only imagine what was going through his mind all that time.

If Iā€™ve got a couple days off Iā€™ll usually have one day that Iā€™m fairly lazy. Get up late, go for breakfast, have a nap, watch some show and eat junk food.

The second day Iā€™ll be more productive. Get laundry and the house clean. Do some meal prep. Get out for a walk, do some kind of hobby.

Itā€™s a balance:smuggrin:

Yeah, I think a lot of people do it that way. I just have a very "individual" way of organizing my week, and my time lol

My thought for today, is also a cautionary tale; chewing 3 pieces of hubba bubba at once šŸ‘Ž. Bad idea. I don't recommend trying. Nasty as all Hell. Not sure why I skipped over 2, and went straight from 1 to 3. Yuck! Words fail to describe how truly intensely awful that was, accurately!

When I was a kid, I loved Bubble Tape!

I'm so sick of the words; "equivocate", "hyperbolic" and "levity". They're so overused in some circles. Uuugh. What's the point of that kind of talk lol?

Next time I hear someone use the word equivocate, I swear, I'm just gonna walk away and leave the conversation. I don't care if that comes across as insane, I really don't.

Yeah it really feels like certain words just seem to appear in everyday use one day, and then get completely overdone, until everyone gets sick of them and they disappear again.

On a related note, this reminded me of a time years ago when I shared an office with one of the most arrogant, pompous and conceited people I'd ever met.
He truly enjoyed making himself feel superior to everyone around him, and one way he did this was through language.
He kept a Thesaurus in his desk drawer, and I noticed that every morning as he drank his coffee, he would look through the book to seek out a new and unusual word.
He would then drop that word into 'casual' conversation throughout the day, and watch people feeling uncomfortable as they weren't sure what it meant.
After some time observing this, my dislike of him grew to the point that one day, I just spoke a sentence containing a whole bunch of words that I made up on the spot.
I saw him scrambling to pick up his beloved Thesaurus, and flip through it trying to figure out what I'd said. As the puzzled look on his face slowly changed to realisation, he looked up at me and slowly nodded.
I never saw the pompous git do that word thing again.

Well done! šŸ‘
Edmund Blackadder would be very proud of you! ;)

This story reminds me exactly why I love Scorpios so much. Pretty much every Scorpio I know would do something like that, sometimes other people just really don't have the balls/ pussyballs to.

ETA; Wish I would have heard the mumbo jumbo sentence hahahaha.

Feel like I need to go and binge-watch BA now. And have never been able to decide which of the 4 series I like most.
But fave character was Rik Mayall as Lord Flashheart (sp?). "Aha Bridesmaid, like the beard!"
Oh god! Yes! Rik! What a loss.

I liked most of the seasons, the first less so -- it had a completely different writing team. But because of the final scene in the final episode, I think "Goes Forth" set in WWI is my favourite. It also had all of the quintet (Fry, Laurie, Robinson, McInnerny and Atkinson) with almost equal screen-time.

I go to my Drs appointment 3 years ago; they tell me I have my height wrong. Whatever.

I go in last year; they tell me I have my weight wrong.

This year; apparently Ive been telling people the wrong age all year.

God, they're such know-it-alls over there! šŸ˜†
This post reminded me of the time that the NHS got a guys height wrong and calculated his BMI at 28,000 - recommending him for immediate COVID vaccination due to being "high risk". Basically his doctor registerd him as being 6.2cm tall instead of 6ft 2in.

Why did it take me so long to remember I could just use the mute function to stop having to see El9ns tweets? Could have saved myself so much unnecessary irritation this week šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

I recently got fired from my job. I planned on having 3-6 months of unemployment, binging Netflix, and some beers in the afternoon. The interviews came in, and Iā€™m not effectively even unemployed yet, and Iā€™m offered a new contract. I will only get a 5 day vacation in between the jobs.
I guess Iā€™m finally recognized and appreciated enough as a marketer and a campaign manger. Donā€™t let it go to my head though, nothing is final yet. Skid row is just an email away always:)

Iā€™m choosing to interpret this as youā€™ve received an offer to join the band Skid Row.

Great song, but I definitely feel like it flew under the radar for a long time before suddenly getting popular again.

Really? Are you in the U.S.? I think itā€™s stayed consistently popular here. I would be surprised if I met any adult who hasnā€™t heard the song.

Yeah, Iā€™m in the U.S. I donā€™t think I worded that very well. I agree itā€™s stayed popular, but over the last maybe 10 years, it feels like it turned into more of a fad.

Random thought:

I think itā€™s wild how thereā€™s been such an uproar over the adult industry in recent years, and how some people say how ā€œunethicalā€ working in this industry is.

I 100% believe that most commission based sales jobs are way more unethical than camming or content creation. Thereā€™s no changing my mind on this.

I think most people would just think of MLMs or pyramid schemes when they think of unethical sales jobs, but I honestly think itā€™s practically all sales jobs. For example, I know someone who runs his own roofing company. He has sales people do cold knocks in rich neighborhoods, and the way heā€™s said they sell new roofs isā€¦. Sketchy, to say the least.

Kinda like this with all home improvement type companies where they have people making sales commissions. Funny enough, this same person used to do pharmaceutical sales. Which again, imo is unethical. You persuade doctors with some sort of incentive to prescribe new drugs to patients. Drugs which may not be covered by insurance, are usually expensive and may come with risky side effects. Honestly, any job where you make a commission selling something that affects someoneā€™s health/livelihood is morally/ethically ambiguous at best, but is usually outright abhorrent. Health and life insurance is another great example. Insurance agents receive a percentage of your premium, which means consumers have higher premium rates as a result. Most people arenā€™t well versed with insurance jargon, so theyā€™re sold shitty plans with high premiums that wonā€™t cover everything if they do end up getting very sick or seriously injured. I personally hate the healthcare/insurance system in America and get sick to my stomach thinking about how expensive it all is.

Even with realtors, thereā€™s a lot of them who heavily push you to buy a house you may not be able to afford or they know thereā€™s way more work that needs to be put into it than they let on just so they can get their commission. When I was 18/19 my boyfriend at the time bought a house. It was absolutely not worth what he bought it for, but the realtor really persuaded him on it. Whatā€™s worse is, I have a sneaky suspicion she persuaded the inspector to pass it, even though thereā€™s no way that house should have passed an inspection. We started having electrical issues soon after moving in, my stepdad and his dad (who worked his entire life as a licensed electrician) looked at it and was like ā€œthis electrical system is absolutely not up to code and weā€™re worried about an electrical fire happeningā€.

Car sales, tv sales, hot tub sales, whatever, they all are predatory, but at the very least, youā€™re not being sold something you actually need.

I donā€™t know, it just annoys me that people shit on the adult industry, when the vast majority of models arenā€™t love scamming and offer very transparent services. Yet, most people donā€™t blink an eye when predatory sales agents fuck over people and get them into massive debt just so they can make money.

My Global boss keeps saying ā€œphenomenalā€ and ā€œcadenceā€. Likeā€¦ every meeting. He has zero idea whatā€™s going on šŸ˜‚ itā€™s like bingo!

Like I tell my teamā€¦ itā€™s not what you say but itā€™s how you phrase it. Itā€™s all about the people in the room - read the room, have a clear message and adapt.

Agreed 100%. The way the providers and insurance companies conspire to keep costs high for patients and low for themselves ought to be criminal.

I recently got some routine blood work. Itā€™s fully covered by my insurance, but the provider made a clerical error and didnā€™t enter my insurance info. As a result, I got a bill in the mail for the full price of the bloodwork. Around $900.

I called them and they fixed the error, billing my insurance instead. Just to make sure it went through, I checked my claims on the insurerā€™s website. Due to a ā€œplan discount,ā€ they only billed the insurance company about $100.

Now, I was able to keep track of all this and avoid paying that massive bill. But think about the people who arenā€™t in a position to find these errors or get them corrected. The very ill, the elderly, those who donā€™t have caregivers or family looking out for them. How many of those people simply go broke or bankrupt because of these up charges and errors that go unchecked? Disgusting.
