Does anyone else here have SOIS (suddenly over it syndrome lol). I feel like with a lot of relationships and dealings, I can just wake up one day (without anything new specifically happening) , and just suddenly be tf over it, seemingly out of nowhere. I feel like everyone gets sick of stuff, but I wonder how many people get sick of things as suddenly and abruptly as I do. Thoughts? Look at the friggin' economy now, the high cost of living, the high taxes that we have to pay lest we get punished for not paying taxes. I just got a shit ton of bills, the gas bill is $430 AUD wtf ! It makes me so angry that oligarchs pay in most cases no tax at all and then I go online look at youtube videos - see a couple touring the globe, they visit Iraq and in the back ground is a giant pipe coming of the ground. Waste gas is burning away like its just shit - yet here I am forced to reduce my gas consumption to a few hours per day. Then you get this stupid advice from a local gas providers (AGL ) "oh you should turn your thermostat down to 19 degrees" - bro my thermo stat is on 17 degrees yet the price is 5 times or 6 times what it was back in 1994.

Our so called democratically elected leader sold our gas to Taiwan, China, S.Korea, and Japan for a very low price yet here we are being forced to buy it back for a stupidly high price.

This politician also increased the cost of our gasoline. we are paying yesterday $1.80~$2.40 per LITRE.

All my latest bill are more expensive than previous years.

The I get online again and swipe through tiktok videos - breasts and bums, depressing news about people dying in faraway places, endless wars that never cease to stop, trillions of dollars being sent to kleptocrat countries, girls complaining about their boyfriends cheating on them...,
endless advertising, virus outbreaks, new vaccines, lockdowns, - is it any wonder when end up SOIS?

I mean you can't blame people for ending up on fentanyl - life is too hard ! The richest .001% have gamed the system to enrich themselves why we carry this massive financial burden. These elite rich pay no tax and sail the world in mega-yatchts. Some of these mega yachts aren't really yachts at all they're cruise ships for trillionaires. Small cites with supermarkets, water parks, gold courses and friggin helicopter pads. I think they were thinking of building one that could house 2000 people.

I mean there are people here who are homeless and destitute.

I read somewhere that these oligarchs are eating $80 USD hamburgers!! I mean why aren't people outraged over this ?

I felt like that guy in Abiza that took a pill !

There's no reason you cant do this too, you just need to learn the rules of the game or hire a good accountant and if you work for a company have them hire you through your company so you're responsible for paying your taxes (you can negotiate a higher wage / salary doing this since you loose all your benefits and have to handle taxes yourself, but it also means that you can write off a good chunk of expenses and end up paying less tax than you would working directly as an employee)

While the things which you say are, technically true. There's no point focusing on them to the exclusion of all else. Despite there being greedy bastards in this world, there are also sunrises, thunderstorms, bunnies, pretty flowers, football, video games, snow, nature and tasty meals. In addition to a plethora of other beautiful things. I would encourage you to try to focus on more wonderous and hopeful things in this life. If you cannot do that, or that feels impossible, then maybe finding a therapist for some extra support would be helpful, no? Life is for living and enjoying, and it's ok to be happy too.

Anger is always a secondary emotion, masking other things. We do what we can in this world, and it's ok not to have the weight of all the negative things in the world, and going on, constantly in our minds. Yes we should care, but not to the point we become consumed with powerlessness, anger, and despair. Because then we become useless to everyone else, and most importantly, ourselves.

I was really struggling with that SOIS thing to put some kind of internal process, directly connected to relationships with others into words. It sparked some cool and insightful conversation, but I failed at really articulating what I was trying to. That's ok though, I'm still kind of working on it in the caverns of my own mind. It's complex and weird.

I'm not convinced K.M. I know politicians ex wall street types that part the vast majority of their money in a Cayman Island Bank with just numbers attached to them. This is undeclared money and they pay not tax on it. Mossack Fonseca and the Panama Papers has a list of very wealthy individuals whom are untouchables and are part of a very elite group of people. Priviliged people who lived within a walled financial system who themselves are pawns for the super elite. I'm not part of that group and unless you are you don't get those special privileges. They tried to expose these people but nothing was ever revealed, and nobody went to jail or were forced to reveal how much they are hiding. So no I don't think its likely or if it is its not going to be easy that's for sure. Great wealth means you can have people executed very easily. You can put pressure on government's and or bribe people or blackmail people. This is no doubt who it works.

Good luck doing that now. There are over 8.1 billion people on this earth which means its a sellers market. Out sourcing jobs to foreign countries means labour is cheap. Insourcing jobs means employers have gamed the system for themselves to make huge profits. Its easy to hire cheap labour now. I noticed in my own country talks are underway to break the unions in this country. I can see how this is going to end. Globalization, and privatization means oligarchs here get cheap labour and thats why they do it. Highly educated people are hired and they just burn them out and throw them away. These highly educated minions or corporate slaves\dogs pay most of the tax. Young girls burn out young end up bald and grey at a young age. Thats why some girls do this job because the stress on them is insane in a corporate job and now there is no job security; add to that the margins are low. I think you have to do something illegal now to make good money because shitty jobs pay shit wages.

Still I guess if you are exceptionally good at your job maybe you can command more money or a better salary. The western world has too much debt. that debt is going to put pressure on governments to cut public sector jobs. this is why they want AI because they don't have to pay workers to do those jobs. Slowly it gets worse and it will get worse before it gets better.

No one said its easy, it takes a lot of learning to know what is a hard no and where the loop holes within it are, this is why big company's and very wealthy people pay very very expencive accountants and lawyers. No one says you need to start at level 100 though, learning how tax systems work would only benifit you so whats the reason for not learning how to reduce the amount you could pay until you then save enough from that to be able to pay someone who knows more than you to be able to increase the amount you save?

You can be incredibly shit at a job and still get yourself well over what they are offering to do it. It's about framing a value proposition.

Both of these have one thing in common and it might be something that's worth thinking about (not a personal attack in anyway just something I have noticed). Each of them basically say "I cant do it , its someone else's fault". When the reality is, you can do it but you use that as an excuse not to put the time in to learn what needs to be learnt to get to where you want to be.

I just bought a walking pad for my apartment, to get my steps in while I'm watching tv or editing, but I'm worried about it possibly bothering my downstairs neighbors.

Honestly, I'm a very light walker and I don't plan to jog on it, so I don't think there's going to be any annoying thunk thunk thunk noises. What I'm really worried about is the whirring motor noise it makes. My building is relatively well constructed. Like, I can hear if people are talking in my hallway, very clearly actually, but I very rarely hear noises from the floor above me. The only things I usually hear is if someone is clearly dragging something heavy across the floor or if they're vacuuming (and honestly, the few times I've heard vacuuming it may not have come from upstairs. I have a very weird hearing issue where it's difficult for me to tell what direction sound comes from, so the vacuuming may not have even come from the floor above me haha). I never hear footsteps or anything like that, though. But yeah, I'm planning on putting a mat under it and only walking during the middle of the day, when hopefully people are at work, so I'm not an asshole neighbor.

At this point I basically have a mini gym in my apartment. Stationary bike, weights, booty bands, pilates bar, etc. I do have a gym in my building, but it's a bare minimum tiny gym and half the time I go there I have to wait a good while and use other equipment because the equipment I want to use is being used, especially the treadmills, which is why I wanted the walking pad.

Honestly though, my bank stopping it really helped me 2 years ago when I was legit a scam victim. I know it's annoying to go through but they are trying to help and ... sounds like they were okay with you saying the purchase was 'personal'? Glad you got it sorted.

I definitely agree on banks being pretty good at stopping fraud these days. I’ve also gotten the occasional fraud notification, sometimes legit and sometimes false alarms. But usually, once they confirm whether it was actually me attempting the transaction, they don’t ask what I was trying to buy. They’re just satisfied to have confirmed it wasn’t a bad actor.

I've had my bank do that to me twice now. Once was on the old pornhub, when you could tip and buy clips there.
I can't remember which the other site was, but it was ridiculous and annoyed me.

The last month I've had to walk 2 different custom buyers through that, and explain to them what their bank has done. Both those people had their bank do it with both manyvids, and iwanclips.com. Both guys seemed pretty livid pissed about it. Which I totally understood, as I remember how annoying that was, when my bank did it to me.

When it happened to me, I had to call in in person, during set hours, and it took about 30 mins to get the freeze/ hold cleared. Ridiculous.

ETA; All because it was a porn site.
Which maybe wasn't a bank making a moral call, but certainly felt like it was, at the time.
In my opinion, banks, of all institutions, should not be playing the selective morality game.

Momma raccoon and her three babies know where good eating can be found lol. The kids walk right up to me - mom keeps her distance but trusting obviously. I'm feeding three kittens outside and the raccoon family invited themselves. Same with the skunk.

I got all their favorite veggies and fruits .

I got the courage from this Canadian YouTuber who feeds several dozen raccoons outside his house. They all walk up to him and grab a snack. Of the three animal groups the raccoons were the most trusting actually. Very counter-intuitive. I imagine that their food sources are diminishing and so they're chosing to be more people friendly in hopes of a meal.
