The fact that it took over a month for that image to appear here is complete fail on everyone on these forums.

Let's face it, the only people that use that image are Europeans or people outside the U.S., and also the world cup has been over for months now

I live in Wisconsin, we ignore soccer except for that couple of weeks in the summer where we wait for the US to lose so we can go back to watching actual sports where points are actually scored. not these 0-0 yawnfest ties, and flopping around on phantom trips. thats why soccer riots happen, people are god damn bored.

So the NFL has put out a video showing what type of hits are legal and illegal. However, the only thing that's clear about it is that the head and neck area are off limits on "defenseless" players or on blindside hits. Some of the explanations didn't make a ton of sense. So I guess I'm now confused on what they want and don't want.

If you want to watch it, here- http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09 ... _headlines (4 minutes of boring narration over hard hitting)

totally ridiculous.
i want to give Steve Young a concussion.

if you can't tackle high that means that players are only going to tackle low and ask a football player any football player if theyd rather get hit high or the knee and you'll get the same answer.

How much did the Steelers pay the ref to fuck up that replay review and screw the Dolphins?
1000 tokens bb.

I was stuck watching the skins bears game, the only person that wanted to win that game was D'angelo Hall with 4 interceptions 1 for touchdown.

Lovie smith reviews 1 call if its a touchdown and loses, the next play jay cutler sneaks the ball reaches over crosses the plain fumbles and he doesnt review that play. that'd have given them a 21-10 lead I believe. but oh well thats why theyre the bears.

I'm fucking done with the niners this season, the defense fucking blows a lead and well the niners ain't got shit for qb

Made a bet with a friend from Iowa that the Packers would win and the loser of the bet has to buy the winner drinks for the night when she comes and visits in December. I can't wait to be drinking my victory then.

And unless cowboys score over 20 points on defense tomorrow I'll be 6-1 in my fantasy football league. Boom! tough actin tenactin.

it is the coaches in the booth that fucked that up, from the side line the coach has no idea.

soldier field doesnt have a screen that shows instant replay during changing of possession for the coach and every person in the stadium to see? Weird. At Lambeau theres a huge screen that every one can look at and see instant replays all the time.

what a hell of a defensive battle i just watched. until it was 9-0 did I not think the jets were going to get 1 play for a touchdown to steal the victory.

Oddly the British are the people that created the word Soccer as a name for the sport. God forbid the US be like other countries and have 4 or 5 sports that are all called football. Actually, most other countries call it a form of soccer or something that translates closer to kickball (or sometimes just Kick). Although the international games is known as Football. But by the same logic as that picture, we could call it "headball." Of course thinking that the shape of an American Football is an egg, you are buying some fucked up breakfast food. It's an ovoid, which by definition a ball can be spherical or ovoid, making it a (pause for suspense) ball. Also, the game starts with a kickoff, hence the foot part. Similarly in International Football, the ball may be propelled or stopped using head, foot, hand, torso, etc. but instead takes its name from the first body part to contact it.
It's actually an inversion of the usual "better than thou at English" (which oddly, language experts seem to agree that American English is closer to Proper Colonial-Era English than British English is). Take "Aluminum" it was discovered by an Englishman and named "Aluminum" then because some unknown author didn't like it he called it "aluminium" which was pretty pointless and bland. Then the rest of England called it "aluminium" and everyone else stuck with "aluminum" which seemed to make more sense. Then the English run around screaming about people pronouncing it wrong INCLUDING THE PERSON THAT FIRST NAMED IT.

Now that we've settled that issue, I want to play some Blitz: The league.

Vikings just waived Randy Moss

fire literally everybody and forfeit the rest of the season. this team doesn't deserve to play football anymore

As soon as I read that headline I wondered what your thoughts were in it.

Really at this point being a Minnesota sports fan I shouldn't be surprised at spectacular failure despite high levels of talent but it still hurts every time it happens :(

As a packer fan him getting let go is hilarious. They were so excited to get him. Problem is this, vikings offensive line sucks monster balls and for whatever reason childress doesnt know that he has adrian peterson in the backfield. Its like childress wants to throw the ball as many times as he does just so he can blame favre when things go bad.

Favre has had no time to throw the ball and gets hit sacked knocked down much more than he did last year, his receivers had sucked at getting open much of the year before moss even showed up. So I can't blame just favre or moss.

I honestly think a team that is close should bite the bullet and try and get moss if they can. Jets, Dolphins, Ravens come to mind. Hell even the saints could use a receiver. But instead he'll probably wind up on the rams or bills.

Remember that he's on waivers so there's a priority on waiver claims. Here was the waiver priority last I checked.

buffalo - dallas - carolina - denver - san fran - cinci - cleveland - detroit - minnesota - san diego - arizona - jacksonville - oakland - washington - st Louis

Totally wouldn't be surprised to see him wind up a Cowboy.
