Steph I am not insulting cam models. You are making connections were there are none. All I was turning to say (unsuccessfully) is that both models and members try and get what they want while trying to screw the other one. It annoys me, sorry that you are upset that I dislike when people try and take advantage of others.

I understand what you mean here, and you are right: some models play guys. It's happened to me. But guys also play (less successfully) models.

At the end of the day it is our (guys') responsibility to be smart enough that we do not get played, and if that is impossible, to run away after it has happened. If a guy is "scammed" and keeps going back he has nobody to blame but himself. Again, speaking from experience here

All I meant by "manipulate" was the act of convincing someone of something for personal gain. Sorry if my examples were not on par with the point I was making.

So convincing you that my name is Steph?
Convincing you that "my pussy is dripping wet for you"?
Convincing you that I do in fact have a unicorn?

Excluding the last one that I simply added for my entertainment are all parts of the job, not really manipulation.

No one accuses customer support of being manipulative by saying "I'd be happy to help you" and "have a wonderful day" when in reality they don't want to help you and hope you fall in a ditch.

Still confused about your original post being somehow about manipulation.

I just think you're conflating basic daily tasks of our job (such as lying about our age or name) with taking advantage. I see claims of "My kids are going to starve to death if we don't reach this goal" as manipulative. I'm so confused as what you're seeing as manipulation as you haven't provided us with any examples...

Now, to something models do that is actually annoying:

Selling their playlists.
I'm not talking about text lists with the titles of songs she plays in her room, but about a collection of music files. With music that she obviously didn't make herself, but that an artist or a band made. So wrong.

yes, this. in mp3, very wrong. I mean sharing mp3s is shady as it is, getting money for it is just uncool.

spotify lists are something different IMO, I really love sharing spotify lists, but in exchange for tokens might be a bit borderline. Same as with snapchat, that's not really meant to be made money off either. (but we all do it)

there's so much legal/copyright grey area in camland, it's very confusion and we all have different understandings of where to draw the line.

Yeah, technically most of the times when models play music in the background it constitutes copyright infringement, unless they've somehow paid a licensing fee (which I doubt).

So glad you mentioned this. A top model whom I shall not name sells her list for 550 tokens. I assumed it was a text list which would be more outrageous, but either way this is bloody stupid. But sadly there are silly, silly guys who will pay

I figured that they were always just giving a list of music played. Do girls actually email proper mp3's?? If so, I am shocked!
Well the one I had in mind when I made the post gives a number of Gigabytes in her descriptions, so I suppose it's mp3s. :(
I was shocked, too.

Actually, I think it's even more outrageous to take that price for actual music files. The one I was thinking of sells her playlist for a low 4 digit token price. :/

I can't count the number of times members have asked for my playlist. I don't have one because it sounds like a pain to constantly update with changes, but I could definitively see the point in selling a text only list of songs, people ask for it more than feet.

Good way to go about it without actually selling MP3's like a jerk.

Deleting friend. I understand cleaning up the list when guys vanish or act like dicks, but to me it's a bit low to delete and charge for adds again even when members are active participants in rooms. One model did it 3 times that I am aware of. Took me 2 times to learn :icon-cry:

Does she specifically state it's like a monthly thing? A lot of models are pretty awesome and honest, and when they make a rule like this hold every member to the same exact standard.

It's very possible it is nothing personal at all.

No, that's the problem I have with it. She never said it was a monthly thing at all. Just randomly deleted everyone. She stated that it was for her own personal reasons, that she wants to live real life ... not too sure what she means. She has been camming more than ever lately.

5 points for making me laugh

Copy from another model.

Yeah, I'm biased because I'm a regular in the original model's room, but this is pretty blatant. It's not enough that she copied the idea -- she copied the text almost word-for-word, and even made a crude copy of the base character design. Of course, she doesn't give credit to the original model.

After reading the text on the copycat's image, I realized who it was, and I'm surprised she would do that so blatantly. Disappointing.

Same ^

Maybe she asked permission first?

No, I asked the original model and she was shocked, too.
That's really disappointing. I can understand a new or struggling model doing something like that not knowing better or out of desperation but someone so well known and successful not taking the time to at least modify the idea let alone come up with one on her own?!

If it's who I think it is, then it's a model who kinda prides herself on originality, which makes it doubly surprising.

Models begging for money. I don't like to do it. Last thing a member needs is to feel guilty. They get that enough in the real world!

Also models slamming other models. Yes, I know I just did it above. :p but I am talking about name dropping and personal feuds. :)

Find a room, everything seems fun. KIK offer of x tokens for a month, and figure that's a good way to get to know personality more as well.

Unfortunately, the only KIK messages I got were "I'm selling this today" or "I need some money". Effectively, I paid to receive a load of messages that are an adult equivalent to the "We have £5000 waiting for you for the accident that you had" spam texts.

It transpires that this person actually had the personality of a piece of buttered bread.

OK, but, how do we know which model came up with it first? I don't know either model (I mean, I've heard of the alleged plagiarist but never visited her room). Is it possible that the "original" model was actually the copycat?

Let's not jump to conclusions.

The original model has had this on her profile since I started camming, at least. That's 2 years. It's also way higher quality.

I only just noticed it on the other girl's profile. I suppose it's possible that she had it before, but doesn't seem likely...

I know when I first started camming the original model's profile was one of the first I'd seen and she had it then. And I remember seeing the alleged plagiarist's profile last summer and it wasn't there then.
