OK, but, how do we know which model came up with it first? I don't know either model (I mean, I've heard of the alleged plagiarist but never visited her room). Is it possible that the "original" model was actually the copycat?

Let's not jump to conclusions.
You could check their profile pages on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine (archive.org). Image links are usually broken but you can tell from the URLs that the original model already had it in July 2012; a bit earlier if you check her profile under her previous model name. The most recent archive of the copycat profile from May 2013 doesn't show it -- she originally had something else.

Besides, I waited until the original model contacted the copycat model *and* until the copycat model responded, since I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt (hey, maybe she got someone else to do her profile). She admitted that she copied it, or as she calls it, "made it my own".

So no, I did not jump to conclusions.

There's a couple things on her current mega month list that were similar to things I've done recently during my mega months, too. Which to be fair, she's always told me I was an inspiration to her and has visited my room and been very friendly and supportive, so when I saw it I wasn't upset. I did think it was a little funny that the wording and prizes were nearly identical to mine. ;) But the final result shows that she did "make it her own" with some different little details.

Now that's something awful. Even when i am going for a show that looks like another models one i say it (like when i dressed as sally and i had a makeup similar to Veronica). I was called a copycat from a famous model when i started and all i wanted to do was cry. I didnt even knew her back to that time and i got harassed by a member from her room. It was...terrible.

this book helped me a lot. I recommend to every person that works with creativity to read it and apply to your daily tasks :)

Just be yourself, create your own things. If you are going to get inspired by something, at least recycle it.

I like how Anna's profile says she designed her profile herself, but she does not have time to help others with theirs. So the other girl just stole it

Actually it's more of a heart breaker than being annoyed........When a model breaks your trust, the best thing to do is to move on. Letting go is all one can do sometimes.

I can sympathize pretty strongly Mr. Dude. It's not a nice feeling, I'm sorry.

Thanks Jolene. This one is going to take awhile to get over, but with the support of the ACF community, I'm going to be fine. ACF models are the best. :)

Feeling like people are copying your ideas is not a good feeling but honestly people have to be very careful when making accusations. Sometimes it is extreme and obvious(personally I try to ignore because lashing out does not do much) so I understand calling the person out privately. But, MFC is a HUGE site with many models and its very hard to come up with completely original ideas. Not to mention that the idea that you thought was your (or your fav model's) original idea is often times something that another model was doing but does not have a huge following so no one new. Or like mentioned above, a new model does something similar to an experienced model (not even aware) and gets harassed.
I say let the models handle it amongst themselves. As camgirls we need to be respectful and reasonable when it comes to accusing others of stealing ideas.
I have been the victim of extreme copycat, idea borrowing and even accused of doing it myself. At the end of the day it does not matter if someone steals another persons idea, they have to execute it as their own. If it is not their idea or something that they worked on, then it usually doesn't work that great for them any way. Just my 2 cents, take it or leave it.

I can understand sometimes trips like that are paid for months in advance... but, yeah, it falls under the whole 'help me pay my rent' thing that gets on my nerves from earlier in the thread.

Just seen a model arguing with her room for at least twenty minutes about her new boobs. Model likes them but most members thought she looked better before. Model spends time trying to convince the viewers that her new boobs are "perfect" and better than her natural ones. Normally this would just be hilarious and not that annoying but she wouldn't let it go. Before I left she was kinda insulting women with smaller boobs. Nothing more annoying than a woman with fake boobs trying to act somehow better than natural women. Extra annoying when the boobjob is even worse than most boobjobs.

Another thing is profiles that have no info about the model or her room or what she is willing to do. Some models profiles are just a big ad for all the stuff she is selling.

That's usually a good indication that what she offers is what's in her topic at that time. ;)

I get that but I use to like looking at profiles to see what she offers in private, what kind of rules she has for her room, even things like taste in music and movies. Now when I click on some profiles the only info I get is that the model sells videos.

personally i took it away from mine because looks like nobody used to read that anyways, or just make fun of my rules :(

It looked very clustered and i got an advice to make it "clean" so i took rules away, which explained the room mood as well.

So, i don't know how useful would that info be, they could just hang out for 5 minutes in my room and notice anyways. Or ask me.

I'm with you on this one. I always read profiles and like to know the rules, especially since most models have PMs locked. I don't always want to tip 200 to PM about the private and have that much less to spend in the show. It's good to know what not to ask for when the clock is ticking.

Talking about profiles - this isn't the most annoying thing, but I find it offputting when a girl's profile is like
NO Skype
NO calling me bb
NO PayPal
NO rudeness
NO privates
NO PMing
NO disrespecting other members
NO requests without tipping

I just think it comes off as super negative, and the guys who are gonna go "skype bb????" are never going to read your profile. Also since MFC allows us to ban for whatever reason we like, I don't think saying "no disrespect, no rudeness, no mean comments" is necessary; it's not like we have to prove our case for banning. You can just tell someone why you're banning them (or not!).

Clarifying what you like/don't like is great but opening a profile that has more NO NO NO lists than anything else immediately puts me off. Obviously it's useful to put info about what you can't do, but it's just the big lists that get me.

I don't mind these buried about the bottom of the profile, but if I seem them at the beginning of a profile they are a real turn off. I do think if you have boundaries which unusual. no nudity except for private, no penetration, no privates and maybe even no skypes it is a worth mention, but well after you've said all the activities you do like to do.

(...)
I've come across a couple of profiles that only have a strict rules list and nothing else on them, and then when I visited the girls' rooms, they more often than not turned out to appear friendly, fun and chatty and I was like
If you're cool, why would you want your profile to make you look like a total bitch whose main concern is letting members know all the things they can't do, instead of saying something positive about herself? I know that there ARE guys who look at profiles before visiting a room, and that type of thing will immediately drive them away from an otherwise perfectly nice girl.

Okay, we can all agree that I don't need a boob job but I can empathize with this girl and here's the thing: Getting elective surgery is a huge thing. Like, way huge. This girl probably thought about getting these new boobs and was excited about them for a long time. Her mental image of herself finally getting to match the outer appearance. I wouldn't let it go if guys were complaining that they liked me the way I was before either. Because a boob job usually isn't for our viewers, it's for us. And when you put that much money and thought and emotion into something you want people to like it as much as you do and it would be incredibly frustrating and hurtful to have others putting it down. Of course, that's no excuse for insulting other body types but I don't blame her for being a bit defensive.

I'm that kind of model that has a bitchy profile. I've been on cams a long time and I've experienced a lot of entitled members that feel they have a right to ask for my personal information or for stuff that go above my boundaries just because they tip a lot!

Once I put those rules up those sort of "misunderstandings" diminished considerably and I've been tipped just because I was upfront on my profile and not sugarcoating anything. I'm a very nice person, but having to deal with people in the past that have the "saviour" complex, on a daily bases, made me unable to enjoy camming like I am now. I don't have to deal with drama, with pushy guys that ask me where I'm from originally, what's my real name etc.

I have PMs open for eveybody for about 6 months now, if before I kept on getting Paypal bb? Are you selling your panties bb? sort of messages, now they are practically gone.

I might sound bitchy, so be it, but my conscience is also clear that I didn't lead anyone on with my way of being.

Ok I was just on MFC and briefly watched a model that... just flabbergasted me. I couldn't believe the shit she was telling people in the room.

"I didn't set a topic because I'm just horny tonight and just want to have fun, I'm not a typical greedy model. I'm just a real girl looking for real people."
Yet soon after, a guy tipped her 25 tokens and she said "Ok that's nice but I'd like to see higher tips guys. And new tippers too!"

Then a guy tipped 100 tokens and she said "see guys, that's a respectable tip, that's how you get my attention."

Then a bit later a guy tipped 550 tokens and she said "Yes thank you! Thank you for not just throwing coins at me." Which is basically shitting all over anyone that tipped smaller amounts.
And then again went on about the best way to get her attention is with big tips.
"See, I just met him, but now I'm intrigued. He's so mysterious, I want to get to know him."

And then she kept telling the room... "I really want to meet someone, a real gentleman. I'm willing to travel, but you have to get my attention and spoil me like crazy."
Then guys started saying where they were from and she would respond to all of them with something like "Oh I'd love to visit New York, but I don't know you. If you can grab my attention here though, who knows?"

I mean kudos to her because the tips really started coming in then. But I feel that was just incredibly manipulative and fake

If any of my fun sized friends decided to get party sized breast augmentation I would wish them a fast recovery and wait for them to come back. They are my friends though, and those people complaining to the other model sound like customers not friends.

Customers are never going to be happy that the person they view as an object has changed from the "perfection" they had before. Models have to be strong people to withstand the hair cut, hair color change, weight gain/loss, or misc other stuff complainers. Becoming negative, and insulting other people is just as bad as the people who are hurting her.

Well, to be honest.. I'm not in the mood for everything all the time. Sometimes I want to masturbate.. sometimes I'd down to do some dirty talk. Sometimes I am only okay with femdom privates. Some days only hitachi. I think the best policy is always "PM before private" so that you can chat about what will happen.
