Tried to watch it last night (first through a live streaming site & then via a tv) & by the end when I was watching it straight from my TV the commercials started to get to be so much, by the last 15 minutes I basically gave up. I believe it was supposed to 90 minutes (if I remember correctly) and at least 40 of that seemed to be commercials of stupid shit.

Rewatched it this morning (along with The Talking Dead, the after show) & was pleasantly surprised by the storyline (the fact that so far the budget cut appears not to have effected how much they show zombies or how well they are done also helped). I've given up on them "getting it right" by a fan girl point of view & just decided to separate it completely from the comics. In that sense, I enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next episode!

The season premiere left me with a meh feeling. I hope it gets better, the previews looked promising. I'd read the books but I think it would just piss me off with the way they are doing the show. We shall see :)

Premier was meh. It's a show that I like, but they really need to do something more to make me really want to watch. I actually just caught up on the last 3 eps of last season so I could watch the premiere. Which says something. I enjoyed it, but it doesn't pull me in like it needs to. I thought the early 1st season was the best.

It REALLY would. >_> Although, the books are SO very much worth a read.

Man, last night it felt like there had been way more than two episodes so far. Maybe it's because I watched the season one marathon leading up to the premiere or maybe the writers have crammed A LOT within the first two of this season. Either way, I'm definitely enjoying it. From what I can remember (I did read the comics en masse over a year ago) they are keeping the story line FAR away from the comic, but the places the group finds themselves (minus last seasons CDC stop) are pretty close, which I like because they make sense. So far so good!

I watched the 1st episode online, I thought they did well with the immediate action & it drew me in more. The 2nd episode on the other hand, I thought was a little on the slow & dragging side. It seemed like they made an entire episode of filler scenes. But in the end, I still LOVE this show & will continue watching!

Season 2 Episode 3 -

I knew it when they looked up over the trunk of that car last episode and that building had the walkers around it. Like they say always bring a snack when traveling. Now they just need to find the girl as a walker, the mom can kill herself after she sees her kid get shot and they can all move on.

Season 2 Episode 3 : Save the Last One
SPOILER ALERT....

I must say this episode was pretty boring until the end changed all that. I kinda figured that Shane was a moral loose canon, not sure if he did it to save is own ass or to make sure that he got back to save the kid (Obviously still has some feelings for Lori). I can see a whole Andrea and Daryl story arc happening with Dale being in the middle somehow. Of the new characters I think that either Glenn will stay behind when the group leaves or Maggie will tag along because of the new found interest in Glenn. I get the feeling that T-Dog will be in a situation to save Daryl in the near future and it will be interesting to see if he actually does try or bail's on him.

I LOVE a good Zombie flick. Zombies are actually my favorite when it comes to horror. But yeah, the Walking Dead didn't really do it for me either. Has anyone seen the British mini series Dead Set? That one was really good IMO.

SPOILER:

I think Shane killing fatty was a moral tipping point for him. Also, the shot of him shaving his hair & the ending scenes showing him killing fatty were a way of saying "He's definitely turned total bad guy", but on "The Talking Dead" Felicia Day made a good point that this is a new world and adopting a new moral compass may be the only way some people (Shane in particular) can learn to deal with it.

It was about time they added a little casual sex into the mix.

Seconding this.

EDIT: Although if you think about it, even though it wasn't really seen, that's what Shane & Rick's Wifey did.

Agreed, the old man's stares are very creepy. And I can't wait to hear his explanation of the "pets" in the barn! I loved Maggies comment when Glenn said he still has 11 condoms and she said " sounds like 11 minutes of my life I'll never get back" LOLOLOL!!! poor asian kid! Hey, she still wanted seconds!

How lucky was Daryl that the walker went for his boot first?!!!
I bet he finds Sophia.

 Yes, very lucky, Daryl is a great character. I'm enjoying this season way more, the hope of them making it a live action of the comic book is gone by now.

I'm so glad they developed more on his character, especially in this episode, really shows how different/alike he was to his brother.

Frankie...how many graphic novels are there? I am seeing 13. Are they still producing them?

They come out every month & their up to issue 89 I believe. I think the writer is getting a bit bored with how the comic is (he's kind of screwed their characters into a weird corner, but I still like it) so not sure how much longer it'll go on. Surely, he'll finish the current story line (which I think is literally at least two or three years ahead of the show at the moment).

Also, I would like to add: FUCK YEAH! THEY KEPT THE BARN IN THERE!!!!

I have books 2 - 6. I am still waiting for #1, will be another week or so I bet. From what I can tell, each book that I have is 2 comics. So that'll be 12 of 91 done lol blah. I know I'll get hooked and have to read them all.

Now about the show sorta -

First lemme say - while I don't agree with Shane's fixation on Lori and Carl, I am more in line with his way of thinking. If I had a kid and wife and the old man said no you gotta go and I couldn't talk him into letting us stay? He'd get a double tap to the chest and I'd say "Look hunny our new home." Is that wrong? yes. Do I know it? yes Do I care? no. My kid's safety would come first, my wife's second, my own third and the rest of the world would be a very, very distant last. I have told friends and family, zombie apocalypse happens, don't even sniffle around me I'm likely to double tap ya and walk on.

S02E07 - SPOILER

Is Dale dumb or does he want to not wake up one morning? Here's some advice: don't poke the crazy person. Finally can move on from the searching. As soon as I heard the noise I said out loud to myself "Of course dumb ass" So didn't see it. (in my defense I am also watching Dexter, Hell on Wheels, Clone Wars and Thundercats back to back all in the same night...don't judge me) And I do believe I'd punch the old man if I was Carol. Shane is standing on the cusp of cuckoo now, I am hoping he goes full crazy. Maybe Andrea giving him some will hold that off a bit. All in all not a bad episode.

Oh and since Thanksgiving happened I didn't comment on Episode 6, not that there was really anything to talk about. But when Rick confronted Lori and asked "Is there anything else?" She said "Shane and I...", then he asked "Its because you thought I was dead right?" Did it look like she was gonna shaker her head no, like no we were fucking before you got shot? or was I just seeing things?

In any type of end world scenario I would hope I would be more Rick than Shane honestly. In the end, because of how he deals with things logically Rick lasts pretty damn long. Yeah, sure he makes some HUGE mistakes along the way, but he keeps himself & his kid safe. Shane is what I assume the typical personality would do in the world as we know it now end. I would want to keep a little bit more of the "moral compass" I had in the previous life. But hey, that's just me.

I gotta agree with you about Dale. The LAST thing I would be doing, unless I planned to kill him while doing it, is fucking with Shane. He's clearly lost whatever remained of his former self when he shot Otis. I think the explosion of emotion at the barn was Shane showing he's either at the edge or just then jumped OFF it crazy wise.

I want to think that Lori is a good person in a fucked up situation, but the pause she had when answering that question made me go "Well, bitch ANSWER THE QUESTION".

SPOILER

Sophia showing up the way she did was PERFECT. I called it before it happened simply because it would be a great moment in tv if that's how it happened & I've been a tv fan for so many years my brain tends to "predict" how the writers will deal with a specific issue pretty quickly, especially when it comes to horror. I was still in awe at how they did it. As a friend and I have been discussing on Twitter, it really showed how the rest of the season is gonna be: Shane is all bad ass until it really counts. The only person who stepped up to shoot little zombie Sophia when she came out of the barn was Rick and that's the beginning of the Rick I remember from the comics.

Now if Shane dies the way he did in the comics this other half of the season I'll be one happy camper. After kick starting the drama & bullshit, his use is basically spent. He is going to quickly become a null & void character to the over all story line.
