Why are you reducing us all to the same standard? How do you know that "in this job you choose your own schedule, so why are you complaining that you don't have time for other things?" Why are we so cynical and simplistic in our thinking? How do you know I could have chosen my own schedule? And to answer your question punctually, in my case yes! I missed all this because I couldn't be an independent model in those years, in my country we didn't even know/work on Chaturbate/Myfreecams for example. Very few girls entered this field as independents. Many of today's websites didn't even exist at that time and you needed a studio or a team behind you that made your schedule, gave you training, organized your work shifts and yes, you also worked overtime. You couldn't always leave when your shift ended, because you often had a long private that kept you an extra 2-3 hours online. And the standard program was 8 hours btw, which reached 12 in the case presented above. So yes, I missed a lot of things in the life of a young fresh student because of this job, and no, it is not a singular experience, that's why I discourage as much as possible entering this field at such a young age. And I don't say anymore that in those years I didn't even know my limits, I didn't know how to set boundaries, I accepted any compromise and I did many other things that I really don't want to get into. And besides this job of at least 8 hours a day, you also go to college, maintain some social relations with friends around you and follow your dreams. So under these circumstances, reducing it all to that simplistic way of thinking is not valid.

But you are in control of your schedule, if you worked another job where you aren't an independent contractor you don't usually have control over your shifts. I find it odd for people to say they missed out on X because they were an independent contractor. If you worked at a company that operates on Christmas and you got drafted for the Christmas morning shift you can say you missed Christmas because you had to work but as independent contractors if you miss Christmas it's because you made that decision.

I mean if you aren't doing it for the freedom of being your own boss why are you doing it? Self employment taxes are just awful I actually recently finished doing the LLC(taxed as s-corp) setup so I'm looking forward to some relief.

People who have been camming a while know the reality that traffic ebbs and flows. If you want to make the most in the least amount of time, you have to follow that pattern of traffic flows. This pattern revolves a lot (not all) but a lot around US work schedules and US current events. People want to see us when they are free from work, and partying/ relaxing. So we therefore can't go out and party ourselves during that time. When everyone else is. Is it really that counter intuitive? This seems obvious to me. Or did I miss some sarcasm in your initial questioning?

Of course you can, deciding not to work a day doesn't result in you losing your job. You have more freedom than people that aren't independent contractors.

Look Sweetheart I'm not gonna school you on how being self employed works. Or on US culture.

I've seen you do this in numerous other threads. Idk if it comes from a need to be right (which sorry, I don't have), and ego, or just a love of arguing/ debate in and of itself. But either way I'm not interested. Totally.
During my first 4 years of camming, Friday nights were my most lucrative streaming time. I had to make the choice not to go out and do stuff with friends in order to capitalize on that and maintain my momentum (aiming for top 20 rank requires that.) So sure it was a choice, but it was too risky to choose social outings.

Yep your bad, I'm down south part of the uk, not Scottish at all but you just saw my name and jumped to blah blah blah blah (you sure you haven't got a need to be proven right?) Blah blah blah (I think those who haven't got American culture seem more aware of what's wrong with America then Americans it seems) blah blah you get the idea.

Look the reason why I mentioned those girls is because it's not like every girl who enters regrets it at that age. The reason why they took the job other being say a waitress was because they couldn't afford to go out partying in the first place. That's why the 24 year old wished she started when she was 18 so that she wasn't working 12+ hour days doing 2 jobs to make half of what she often makes. She never got to do anything while now she can afford to go on short holidays, go out at night.

This is the flip side, if you got a job as a waitress at a restaurant 18 you would still likely have nights where you had to work, not see friends, too tired to go partying etc, the difference is if you are in say Russia you're way more likely to make more money from taking your clothes off on cam and as a bonus allowed to tell pervy customers to go fuck themselves without fear of getting fired.
It's not like not being able to do fun things/have a social life when paying for education/rent is exclusive to the webcamming job.
Most studio shifts for girls still seems to be 8-12 hours.
