Yeah, a lot of SM models - including me - hate it because a lot of trolls are abusing the feature by using it to call model names for whatever reason. I heard someone even tagged a model with her REAL NAME. Now we have to obsess about going into our model settings to check for new tags to see if there are any new nasty tags that need to be blocked from our profile.

yeah I said the when tags came in on MFC the danger is that models will abuse it or fudge the truth, while members will sometimes use it to troll. A moderated system is best if it's workable, or just have tags stay hidden pending model approval.

I do think it's useful to search for models with particular details or something you might be in the mood for.

Yeah, one example of abuse I noticed on MFC was a model who inserted tags specifically to defeat location filtering, so her avatar would show up no matter what region you filtered for.

I don't really use tags myself, but I have noticed some obvious fudging of the truth; e.g., "teen" for someone who self-reports herself as in her 20's. One of those statements is not true, obviously. Lots of the other tags are a matter of opinion. I haven't been to Streamate, but I do think seeing what others tag models with would be interesting. I also have to agree that some angry members or just plain trolls would hang bad tags on people just to be spiteful though, so it wouldn't be fair not to allow models to block the bad ones. For the most part, I think tags are fairly useless, although they're sometimes interesting to look at.

A moderated system might be good, although I have my doubts about the quality of the moderation. The member-submitted emotes on MFC are moderated, and in my opinion, incredibly poorly so. There are quite a few of them that I find offensive or simply annoy the fuck out of me, while they have rejected some that seemed pretty harmless (and were even approved of by the model involved).

Another thing about SM tags is that even though a model can block a rude tag from appearing on her profile, every time she goes into her 'My Tags' settings, she now sees the entire list of tags that she's accepted and blocked. Seems ridiculous to still have the 'ugly ass bitch' tag staring you in the face long after you've blocked it.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing the tag feature evolve over time. It's brand new and there are bound to be some issues. You should email support and ask if you can get them removed because you hate seeing the troll tags when you're trying to be sexy and make money. After all, if we don't speak up about new features, how are they ever going to know?

Personally, I love the tag feature, I have some really funny ones on there that, while I'm sure nobody is going to find me by searching for "Tardis", amuse me quite a bit. I think it would be great for all tags to be blocked automatically and then you could choose to show which ones you want, but then I think a lot of models would never bother with them at all, kind of defeating the purpose. I think at the very least instead of "hiding" them, we should have the ability to completely delete the ones we don't like.

I feel like I've been fairly lucky with my tags. I've only gotten one bad one and it was from some idgit who was pissed I wasn't fucking myself in a ONE DOLLAR pizza gold show, where the description clearly stated that I was going to eat some pizza. It was a joke show for my regulars, but this one guy tagged me "rip-off artist". I thought it was pretty fucking funny. I hope he raged all night about that one dollar he was ripped off, losing his boner in the process, and simultaneously developing a confusing pizza fetish that he doesn't know what to do with.

I did e-mail them to express my concerns about the tags feature, and got a response from Liz thanking me for my input. Thanks for your suggestion, by the way. I e-mailed back to ask if I can have them removed.
