Snapchat scam?

I'm still a noonb over here...

I've been talking to someone shady... and I gave them my snap chat...

Then they asked me to add and send some pics to their friend... the friend is asking for clips? Or whatever I can do in snapchat holding down the button.

If I wanted to send this person clips and or photos... are they then able to share my clips/photos? Or to take them off snapchat some how?

Let me start with the following caveat: I am in no way am expert on SnapChat.

But, yes people can still Screenshot your Snaps. However...you will get a little notification staying that someone has screenshot your Snap.

As for vids, I have no clue if those can be copied and saved by anyone other than the person who made them. But again they can be screenshot.

Also, if you send a picture you took from your camera roll in a direct message. They can save the picture to their chat (and possibly to their phone too). But I think you are notified of that too.

Hope that helps from this way too old to actually be using SnapChat user.

Also, if you think someone is shady, I can guarantee you that they will likely do shady shit with what you send them. Always trust your intuition with people.

They're are third party apps that record all those snaps and you will never know. So in short, yesss they can be taken and posted.

Takeovers get your personal info, like where you live from logging into a different account.

And no, you are technically not allowed to send nudes through Snapchat.

Nudity is not supposed to be posted on Snapchat. If you only post it (on your story/directly to in chats) to paid subscribers that have tipped you for access you'd assume that they won't report you because they paid for that content.

Use it as a paid subscription only, that could help. It's difficult to use as a free promotional account because of the restrictions. Also as @Mintx pointed out, if you do takeovers, the person running the takeover gets your IP address. They really aren't worth the risk.

Whatever IP your phone has will be shown to the owner of the account.

Didnt one of your subscribers report your snaps to Snapchat a while back?

I think it may have been one of the female Twitch broadcasters that I followed/exchanged snaps with that did it. OR a bitter old member that felt slighted from me. I did have to make a new snap earlier this year.

The hope is that if you only allow people to follow your snap story that are invested (being a long time supporter and frequent spender) that the likelihood that you'll be reported is much lower.

In theory you could use a 'burner phone.' If the phone gets banned from snapchat, they can always just get another phone with another number. Helps if it's a cheap android phone, with a cheap plan, and no long term contract.

public IP can be a mix. I mean it may give away your general location.
Some apps use data in the background. So there the risk it might kick in on cell anyway.

Use a VPN for your phone when you sign in. Turn your location off just in case. Make sure the email you use is your camming only one. Nord VPN is my go to. Their mobile version is bomb
