For $600 I'd do a lot more than sweat modifying the account or adding a card. You can also most likely go to the local courthouse and get a DBA for Lacie... When you have a 'doing business as' on file with your bank, you can simply endorse it as that with no ID problems.

The problem is even getting the check at all.. Since they won't send it to my current address and I dont have a card as "Lacie LaPlante" I can't add a card to the account to add an address to get the check. But I guess I could try and get them to send it through other means, harrassment through phone or email..

I used paypal a couple of times when I starting camming. Biggest mistake I've ever made. Got scammed out of a lot of money, and eventually my account was reported and locked. I called them and they wouldn't release my funds, so uhh yeah live and learn? Also fell for the "i'll buy you gifts off your wishlist for a show" dealio a couple of times. Now I only accept giftcards, but thats usually if business is dead or its well worth mine and the customers time.

don't do it, ladies! just say no!

I don't understand this whole Paypal crusade against anything that might be adult related. Why are adult transactions that are acceptable to high street banks, banned by Paypal (who claim they are a bank)? When I buy MFC tokens with my bank card, my own bank and Visa/ Mastercard are clearly processing a payment for an adult transaction. If it's not an issue for the big banks, why is it an issue for Paypal? Is Paypal run by some religious organisation with a moral crusade against the adult industry?

But putting that on one side for a minute, why does Paypal enforce (with a sledgehammer) a rule which they make no effort to inform their customers about? I've had a Paypal account for about 10 years (since they were bought out by Ebay around 2002) and I've never been made aware of any such rule, and I don't see anything on their website about this. I've never used Paypal for adult, but the point is I might easily have done so had it not been for reading the accounts of others on forums such as this.

If the consequences of falling foul of this obscure rule are so severe, then it should be brought prominantly to the attention of all account holders. Unfortunately most users of Paypal don't have the means to challenge them in the courts. So Paypal think they can get away with freezing people's accounts and denying them access to their money, which I find quite shocking.

In the first paragraph of "things not allowed" is (h) certain sexually oriented materials or services

Even without a paypal account, you scroll all the way to the bottom of the main page to get "legal agreements"

It's not really hidden. They don't plaster it all over everything, because the original purpose of paypal was a money system for ebay. If you go to the user agreement and the restricted uses, you get a link to the acceptable uses.
