Okay, this is really hard for me to do, so I'm going to ask the girls and guys for some help.

How in the WORLD do I keep people from leaving my room?! I put in my topic stay and chat, and they always leave!!! I dance, I talk, and I'm sweet to everyone, I just don't understand why they can't just stay!

Really, there's no big secret to this. If you are worth watching, people will stay, if not, they will leave. There's a lot you can do to increase your "watchability", so put some effort into it.

Try doing interesting things like some artwork, or some other hobby or project on cam. Dancing is okay, but make it more exciting by putting the camera close to you and at different angles by holding it in your hand. Maybe occasionally do a quick flashing of your stomach or some other body part to tease while dancing.

While talking try moving your hands through your hair and acting with a sexy attitude. Wear or show something fun and quirky, like a wig with an otherwise normal outfit. It's nearing Halloween so that kind of stuff will be easy to find.

Part of the game is patience, and building up regulars over time that will visit your room no matter who else is on, though.

What kind of music do you listen to/dance to? I would recommend universally friendly 80's/90's music, and make sure your sound is a-ok, if the music is grating for viewers or you're having problems with peaking/background noise dampening it might lead to brief stays in your room (although certainly music isn't a magic bullet, but sound in general has a big impact on how user friendly models rooms are)

I too have found that much of the music I really like is tres annoying for premiums lol, they just don't share my passion for Sabbath

4 and 8 Amber doesn't do (but did 8 once iirc) She doesn't do 9 anymore (afaik). So your list is not 100%. I mean, there are girls in Brazil that will shove things into their orifices that you wouldn't believe, but that doesn't fill up rooms. I think the biggest issue is to have good cam and sound quality. No one will want to sit and watch you every day if you cam and sound suck. Some models get away with not talking much, but they never really make it big for long. Being interesting and nice really helps too.

It really depends on the type of camgirl you are.. Some girls on MFC are dull as dirt, but can get away wit it cause they're incredibly beautiful. Some girls have a killer personality. The lucky few have both.

Being nakid is great and it will help draw people in, but if you're not going to put on a public show, then you need somewhere else to go, to stop those with a twitching finger clicking 'next'.

Try and build a rapport with premiums, if your room is empty and you can see them come in, try greeting them.

Personally I find teasing one of the sexiest things a girl can do on cam. You can do this in all sorts of ways, not just dance and strip. Get the guys imaginations going.

Some people have the attention span of the common fruit-fly, the site design and culture lend itself to room-surfing (or even ignoring the models entirely - and yes I'm referring to the Lounge :!: ), and nothing you say or do can change any of that. People will continue to bounce around. All you CAN do is try not to take it personally.

There's already a number of really good suggestions in this thread, with one noticeable omission: Be yourself! It's difficult to watch, or participate, when it comes across as faked or forced, excepting role-play of course.

And I agree, wholeheartedly, with Ding Dong; a good seductive tease can sometimes be more alluring than any amount of nudity or explicit behavior. It is quite possible to nail your audience to the floor using nothing more than suggestion.

What I've realized in the time I've been a MFC member is that there is no rhyme or reason to who's successful and who isn't. There's some good looking girls, IMO, with sub-1000 camscores.

Let me ask you this- do you have any people who come see you on a regular basis? If you do, lean on them for help and ideas. If they like you and want you to do well, they'll help you out.

I'm sorry you feel that way. It certainly can't make the job much fun. FWIW there girls who do well who aren't going to be appearing in Vogue/Maxim/Playboy anytime soon.

But I think, like any job there are skills that you need to do well. Aside from the pornographic parts, you really need to be comfortable and confident in front of a camera. It also helps if you have a naturally relaxed/sunny disposition. These will help you as much, as they will help you gain an audience. The mfc customers can be unrelenting and unforgiving at the best of times.
It's the sort of job that looks easy on paper, but in reality, to actually make a career out of being a cam girl, is very difficult. It's not something everyone can do, I know that if I were a girl, I would suck at it.

I always visit Amber's room when I can because of her personality. When I first became a premium and had tokens I'd visit random model rooms based off their pictures. Every room that I went into I'd get a PM from a model saying hi.

At first I thought it was nice they actually wanted to talk but then I just figured out they were trying to get money from me.

When I came into Amber's room I wasn't greeted by her because she was so busy talking to people which is fine. She never sent me a PM so I instantly felt like she wasn't out to just get my money. For me, thumbnails/avatars have a lot to do with it as well. That is how I pic what model I am going to look at by looking at the avatars first then viewing their profile to find out more information. When I found Amber she had a bust shot including her face in a black bra. It was a great pic and showed off some of her assets while also showing her face. I don't like the models that show their tits in their avatar as I like a bit of anticipation.

It works for you. It works for me too, but I hide models from countries I don't want to deal with, and recommend the same. Except for me it's a quality and personality issue as well.
