Private negatives:
I got nothin'.
MFC fucks up, show ends earlier than either side expected, both sides wonder who ended it early is a nice negative. It might not be as big an issue on SM and such, but on MFC, it is a huge possibility at any time as a problem for both members and models.
For any cam site using Flash (pretty much all of them) Flash crashes the browser on one side or the other (model or member), whichever side it crashed on no longer feels like continuing after restarting the browser.

Skype negatives:
Model risks having her ISP tracked.
I'm only focusing on this aspect, as the others I agree with. But, honestly, continually bringing this up is really a bunch of FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt)... mostly because you are giving far too much technical credence to the average internet user, let alone the average cam site member, than they would expectedly have. It takes extra programs and knowledge of how to use them properly to be able to effectively track someone's ISP from a Skype call. That takes time and effort that, frankly, some dude looking to get his rocks off isn't going to care to go through.
And, as was mentioned in a previous thread where tracing IP addresses came up; tracing an ISP is about as effective as looking for a needle in a haystack. Great! the ISP has a town location, now some potential stalker can find the model! Except for the fact that, you know, ISPs, especially larger ones like Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, Time Warner Cable, etc., all use hubs. The town that gets discovered is the town the hub is in. The hub for my ISP is in the next town over. That hub covers about 5-8 townships/towns. That's a lot of square mileage to cover, and my IP address when sites like to tell me where I am from tells me I am in the next town over... where the hub is. Guess what town I do not live in? Right, the one with the hub.
So, let's say you decided to trace my ISP through a Skype call to try and find me. OK, so you found out the town the hub is in. Good Job. Now, do I live in that town? Yes? Now you have to go door to door looking for me or hope you see me out and about and follow me home. No? So now you have to figure out which of the surrounding towns I do live in. Is it the one to the north? Maybe the one that surrounds the other town on three sides? Or maybe one of the two to the south that are right next to each other? Or is it the town to the east? Oh, right, there's another 2 towns to the north west and another south of the two towns that are fairly close... all served by the same hub.
Oh, and this is after you spent all the time and money to actually travel to the hub town.
Now, be honest; does your average person have the dedication to actually try and find someone? No. Most of us barely have the dedication to get out of bed each day to go to work, but have to do it to survive. Looking for some stranger on the intartubez that we found attractive is pretty low on the list of things to be dedicated to for your average person.
It's like trying to find someone thought a texting number. Good luck. There's so many services that give free numbers for practically anywhere in the US, you'll have more luck winning the lottery over finding some model through the number she gave you to text. As an example, SimplySara has a TextMe number she uses for when she sells/gives her texting number out. As a joke, I made a TextMe account and linked it to my Google Voice account so I can joke with her that she can use her fake number to text my fake number that links to my other fake number before finally reaching my real number. If I really felt like it, I could set up about a dozen fake phone numbers for free or really cheap that all eventually link back to my real number. Good luck finding me in Oregon or Idaho or Montana when I live on the East Coast of the US because you decided to try and find me with the area code listed on the number I gave you that eventually still does link to me.
Are there going to be fringe, not so sane people who might try? Sure. But you have just as much of a chance of meeting them when you step out your door as you do on the net. If anyone is the type of person constantly fearful of some nutter coming to do something to them, they better cut themselves off from society and move out into the wilderness, far from civilization. Only way to be safe.
Continuing to support the FUD out there, which in turn spreads it around and makes people believe it, doesn't help anyone but the people who want that FUD spread.

I hate it when guys who have really slow internet/crap computers constantly moan about myfreecams cam quality.
I don't think it's Internet/Computers. I can receive at least six HD chaturbate webcam perfectly (even when there is 6,000 connections in a room) but I've never correctly received the sound of any MFC models, it always has been broken (though I don't see the point to moan about that to models).
MFC also uses the lowest possible codecs and stream quality. Max resolution is 640x480 (for their *cough* HD setting *cough*), which is standard definition television resolution. Compare that to Streamate, where at least full 720p (1280x720 resolution) is supported, if not 1080p resolution. Sure, some cams CAN look good on MFC, but those same cams will look worlds better if done on SM or Skype or anything else that will support the actual resolutions of the cam being used.
MFC's cam quality IS bad, overall. There's no question about it. There's not much the models can do, though, when MFC, itself, won't upgrade its infrastructure. And they have little reason to, right now, since they are still making money hand over fist with the current cam quality. If business were to drop down and Leo found out the reason was that the members wanted better cam quality, then he'd consider upping the infrastructure of the streaming part of the site. Until then, though, he has no real reason to, business wise.
