My computer is so shitty that I can't play LilyMarie's high-res videos
Have you ever bought one from me? I have to say, my computer is pretty shitty (4 years old, 4 GB RAM) and it plays my videos perfectly.
3 videos  My laptop is closer to 7 years and have no fancy videocard to decode HD.
But I've got a new tablet since I bought them and it read them perfectly.

Guys who use my full username after EVERYTHING. I'm pretty sure most people know me as JJ or Jas but there's always that one guys who's like:
"Hello Jasione"
"How're you Jasione"
"I'm good thanks Jasione"
"Your sound is terrible Jasione" (it's not)
"What's your brasize Jasione"

and I want to hit my head off a wall. I probably wouldn't bother me if it wasn't at the end of every sentence.

Watch me or try to download my videos while using Internet Explorer.
Any time anyone ever has some kind of technical issue with my room or downloading/watching videos, the first question I always ask is if they are using IE. The answer is yes 9 times out of 10.
I had no idea so many people still used IE until I started camming.

Also, coming to me for technical support. This drives me fucking nuts. I have seriously had to explain to someone how to copy and paste a link MORE THAN ONCE. I really have no idea how people that clueless about computers were even able to find MFC in the first place.

Just ranted on a very similar subject last night. It's frustrating when I am doing everything fine on my end when I create and send (extremely fast and efficient, might I add) video or pic download links and the guy on the other end is too computer illiterate to figure out how to watch it.

"Your link in the mail isn't working".

What do you mean it isn't working?

"I can't click it".

Copy and paste it, links in MFC mail aren't clickable.

"Ok I did that and I can't find it".

.... download folder, maybe? :woops:

"Oh".

How do you even find your way around MFC?

Even when I'm just in public chat it's distracting.
About a year ago I had a guy buy my videos and not be able to download them. I asked if he was using IE, and he of course was, so I told him that he can download google chrome or firefox for free, which should not only fix the problem but make his whole interneting experience better in general. I spent about half an hour trying to help this guy out before he blew a gasket in my chat trying to tell people that I was attempting to get him to download a virus, that I shouldn't be advertising videos if people have to download extra things just to watch them, that I was trying to rip people off, and that he wouldn't have tipped me if he had known he had to jump through hoops just to see my videos.
I have never gotten more angry at anyone in my entire time on MFC than I did at that guy.
I was nothing but patient and helpful for an entire half hour trying to help him out, and he just wasn't having it.

I was doing a shower show, of all things! And he kept posting the :crybaby: :crybaby: in my chat over and over. I fixed his issue so he could get what he paid for (aka told him to look for downloads folder) then banned and ignored him. He's not worth any future tokens.

My username used to be foollike, and I do not know if two models called me the same thing. I finally changed me username to Shaun__ to get everyone calling me the same name.

God all of this so much.

Little things like I'll pm someone a link and they'll be like "I closed the window can you resend?" or "can you send that in an mfc mail?" after I've sent it in pm. Pm records are so easy to find as a member! I just don't get how some of these guys have used the site for ages yet don't understand how it works!

I also constantly get the "whahhh it's not working! Can I have a new link?" After they've clearly spent two seconds going on the link, not instantly seeing what's going on and having a meltdown.
In these situations I always ask patiently what the problem is. At this point they actually look at the download site properly and work it out for themselves.

It's like, I don't mind that much, but I wish people would read the instructions first. It's like they're 10 years old and have gone into a shop, bought something, not read any instructions and not understood why their item isn't working, then coming running back to the store assistant insisting it's broken and they want a new one. The assistant spends two seconds looking at it and pulls the clearly labeled piece of plastic that is there to stop the batteries going bad. Problem is, these people are adult men already using a computer!!

You'll be getting this a LOT more now. MFC made changes a ways back. Links are stripped from our archives. So if they do close the PM window it is lost. It's not just them not knowing where archives are at, it's MFC being annoying.

Why Interacting with a Woman Can Leave Men "Cognitively Impaired"

Overall, it seems clear that whenever we face situations where we’re particularly concerned about the impression that we’re making, we may literally have difficulty thinking clearly. In the case of men, thinking about interacting with a woman is enough to make their brains go a bit fuzzy.
Scientific American

It explains a lot of what happens on MFC, including some things many models would, perhaps, prefer stay exactly the way they are.

I still have links in my archives...

Are you meaning they just aren't clickable anymore? Same as MFC mail as far as I can see.

You'd be surprised at how tech-dumb people are. I spent half an hour patiently trying to show somebody how to attach a file last week. And they still couldn't do it. This is a grown adult with a Master's Degree we're talking about.

I also had somebody complain that our entire system must be down because they couldn't get on one particular website.
Me: Have you tried another site?
Dr. Dumbass: What do you mean?
Me: Like, Google or something? Type in google.com.
Dr. Dumbass: [silence] [slow typing] Oh! You fixed it! Thanks.

Okay I just double checked on a dropbox link i got a couple nights ago. It still shows. But I have had some in the past i've noticed that disappeared. Not from mfc mail, just out of Private Message archives. I'm wondering if there's certain sites that are being stripped.

I noticed it around the same time many picture links in public chat stopped working too. Some, like postimg.org still will work and show a picture but many sites don't come through.

It also depends on the generation to which you are talking to. People born in, i would say, as early as the late 70s/early 80s, to this current generation of kids and young adults, are the most tech savvy by far, where we're heavily immersed in computers and technology at an early age. Older adults may find computing as highly complex since they've never grew up with it, therefore not nearly as keen on technology, so the baby-boomer generation may find basic computing as some form of ultra complicated sorcery. Edit: What might seem simple to us, might seem like advanced calculus to them.

True, but there are times when they will surprise you. My grandmother(all of 73 years old) just got a cell phone. After I showed her the basic layout of text messaging and calls, she set her signature for all texts to, "A Hip Granny." O.O

Then there's my ex-best friend who is my age and I had to tech support walk her through creating a PDF file and attaching it in her email. She's a senior in college and a Psych major, not to mention a fellow camgirl. :woops:

Some people grasp it better, some people don't.

Very true actually. Another example: I knew a family who was poor and couldn't even afford a computer and internet at the time, so their children were behind in terms of learning the basics in computing. It was apparent when i sat alongside with them to play computer games, word processing, and sending emails.

I choose to frequently turn off the chat for reasons like these. Every so often, i come across an irrational jackass who who has an inability to think things clearly without allowing his emotions to supersede him or jump to a preposterous conclusion of some sort. Even though i'm not the model dealing with them directly, it's still enough for me to want to knock some sense into them.

Mostly in tweets starting with @LilyMarieMFC, by the way.

It's kind of like the difference between my mother and my father. Both can use computers competently, but my father has made computers his life and work and was part of some of the changes that happened as they happened so he's learned as he's gone along and knows pretty much everything about them. My mother, though is computer competent at the moment and I haven't lived with her for a while so I'm not entirely sure, but there would be moments where she'd just freak out and not know what to do. She works on a computer all day, so she knows the basics, but she doesn't know enormous amounts more than that.
On my dads side his parents use computers all the time, always get the newest technology, and my grandmother on my mother's side is still scared of her mobile phone. She actually did a computer course called "computers for the terrified" a long time ago, but I don't think it changed much!

I think for most people though there is a big generation gap. When I was at school we did IT and schools had plenty of computers. It was compulsory in most schools. Anyone in their early 20s should be pretty decent at working computers. People who are 40+ less so, obviously there are many people who are very good with computers who are that age or older, but I'm not entirely sure on this, but I don't think computers started being used/taught in classrooms until the 80s/90s, so most people born around then chances are will have grown up around them, and those born before probably used them more either out of interest or being made to use them for work.

It's interesting to think about what the generation being born today will be like. They've been raised with iphones, incredible graphics, modern computers and all sorts of technology that makes the stuff I was brought up around look medieval!

My grandfather turned 89 yesterday. He has no problems using the computer for what he uses it for, that I know of, and even uses Skype to video call to my uncle while my uncle is working in Vietnam.

My mother, his oldest daughter, constantly calls me looking for help with extremely simple things with the computer. Like using CTRL+A/CMD+A (Windows or Mac) to select all of a text over trying to select it all with a mouse. And she has never, no matter how many times I have told her, gotten the ability to CRTL/CMD+C and CTRL/CMD+V for copy and paste without using the right click on the mouse.

My father is more technically proficient in the use of computers than my mother, but barely.

Let's put it this way... they both still use AOL as their primary means of not just email, but also they use the AOL IE browser inside the program to surf the web. :woops:
