CB should get ahead of the inevitable by cutting groups immediately and MFC should go further by banning studios, especially in Colombia, Kazakstan, Romania and dear old Mother Russia. Better to cut loses now than jeopardize the whole operation.

I'm on MFC, so I don't know anything about how CB works, and thinking that they're going to need to do exactly that and really enforce some stricter policy if they want to keep the business. If I can make $2-300 a day (and I don't think I'm doing very well, either) then MFC makes a f* ton of a cash. They need to be smart right now and just enforce their rules, and girls need to be smart to save their accounts. That will probably mean less money, but its better than none. Time to get creative!

"While adult film production is legally distinct from sex work in California and New Hampshire, it is not elsewhere. SESTA-FOSTA means that state prosecutors would have full license to go after adult sites and performers in the rest of the country." -freespeechcoalition

We'll see how heavily it's actually enforced. However, everyone should expect cam sites to be placing stricter regulations on what performers can put up.

I had a huge thing written out. But no. That's not how this will work. It will not make pimps shake in their boots. It will ostracize and isolate victims of trafficking even more. No , this isn't something we just have to put up with. It's a dangerous and harmful thing.

If you really think that this was to keep actual trafficking victims safe and not just whorephobia than you have some serious learning to do about the government.

You are really misunderstanding me. I am speaking from experience. I was around small time child sex traffickers/porn makers as a kid. I was abused. These were unsophisticated types, not rich, not tech-savvy. I know for a fact this situation would scare them into calming down their choices. They only did it because it was easy to get away with, using the most basic, public, unsophisticated means. I said specifically this would not help anyone who is in the clutches of someone who has experience and is determined to traffic. But there are a lot of kids out there, like myself, that get messed with by the more "casual"/amateur pimps/traffickers, just because they can. Because what the hell is a kid who grew up that way, and has nothing, and doesn't know any better because this is all that kid has ever known, going to do?

I have years of personal experience I am drawing from with many real live people, whom I know the ins and outs of much more than I ever wanted to. So I'm only speaking as one of the victims of a less sophisticated group of traffickers/child porn producers..I didn't want to get into that, because it's not something I love talking about. But please don't talk down to me about this issue, when I am someone who was directly affected by child sex abuse at the hands of such people. I have been through enough in my life, thanks. This, of all places, should be a welcoming community for women like me - I know I am not alone in my experiences in the cam/sex worker world. My perspective and my voice matters now, in a way it never did as a child. So I will not let a peer shut me up simply for trying to express my point of view.

Better watch out if you are playing Xbox, get ticked, and cuss. Microsoft might ban you for the “offensive language.” If they do, then say bye-bye to your Xbox Gold Membership and any Microsoft account balances.

Or if you and a significant other are getting hot and heavy via Skype, you better watch your language and any nudity because that, too, can get you banned. The ban hammer could also fall if Cortana is listening at the wrong moment or if documents and files hosted on Microsoft services violate Microsoft’s amended terms.

The changes are part of the new Microsoft Terms of Services agreement that go into effect on May 1 and cover a plethora of Microsoft services.

Adult content has always violated their TOS.
Yes. However, this seems to imply that they are more likely to enforce that moving forward.

Unfortunately, if recent history is any indication, this is probably only the beginning. Step 1 is laying the "big brother groundwork" with the private sector since government monitoring at that level isn't acceptable in this country (even though it happens anyway, but does get limited to enforcing matters of national security). Our government's workaround for that is to frequently turn private organizations into an extension of government enforcement. It's always done by claiming it's only to enforce something that is universally despised. 15 years ago, it was terrorism. Today, it's often done using sex trafficking as it's excuse. Now that the groundwork is laid for service providers to monitor internet activity and content, more laws may follow to enforce morality. Of course, it will always be under the guise of "protecting the children".

Before you think I should take my tinfoil hat off, this is exactly what happened with the patriotic act's "know your customer" clause for the banks. At first, it was only to fight terrorism. Problem is, you have to monitor everyone to find the bad guys. You can't just monitor terrorists. Since the banks were already monitoring transactions for potential terrorist ties, it's trivial to expand that to other areas such as drug enforcement. In this case, it also paved the way for the UIGEA, which made it illegal for banks to process transactions related to internet gambling. The target there was shutting down online poker. So much for just being about terrorism. The particularly concerning thing there is, that was largely driven by the politically connected, anti-freedom fascist group focus on the family. Focus on the family has a serious vendetta against porn. Way more so than their vendetta against online gambling, and they succeeded in banning that. You can bet that FOSTA has given them a massive self righteous hard on for opening the window to ban porn. Of course, you can't just outright ban porn or even require enforcement like they did in the UK. That would never fly. Instead, just like FOSTA, you hold providers liable for underage viewers. Most providers won't even bother allowing porn at all and the few that remain will have to be highly restrictive to ensure only adults can view it.

If you think such legislation would never pass, the UIGEA never would've passed either. Instead, they slipped it in a must pass port security bill at the last minute (a rider bill). No one even read it, much less discussed it. Most that voted on it had no idea they did so.

lol well I'm glad people found this link helpful when you posted it, at least...

Sorry. I saw that someone on another forum had posted about it, but I didn't know you had already mentioned it on here. I apologize. I really should've read this entire thread before I posted.

I hate that too when I post something, and no one cares/acknowledges it until it's been posted again later by someone else.

It's no big deal, I truly am happier the more people become aware of what's going on! And with something like this, it does make sense that you'd want to share it ASAP instead of combing through replies first.

If people would quit trying to get me to put on a tin foil hat... that'd be great...

I'm not worried about ACF.

At least they don't really seem to be pretending that this is anything more than lip service in regards to Live. Yeah, you might be banned. You might also be placed in a lobby of a M rated game and it not be filled with squeakers. Anything is possible I suppose. Would require a small army to enforce unless they have some very reliable automation. Last thing they want to do is ban users from Live. Gold subscriptions of Live being a requirement to simply play online is probably the easiest money they make. Live would be a ghost town within a week if they ever really did try to ban the people using offensive language. All the shit talking can be fucking hilarious when it is among adults. Won't defend the idiots sending racist messages or death threats or anything similar being said in the chat but Live wouldn't be Live without the intentionally over the top hostility and vulgarity often on display.

As much as I’m trying to understand what is going on(English is not my first language), I’m here freaking out about this FOSTA/SESTA things. Articles on the internet are just making me even more frustrated/stressed/anxious.

Should a US camgirl, who only sells vids/clips and do camming On a site like Streamate, posts ob social media(twitter/instagram) be worried or not? I’m trying to understand and all the talk around the internet is just making me even more scared. Is it time to quit cams for real??

I’m sorry, I know I sound like an idiot, I’m just scared :(

I think the ladies who do Skype shows (SkyPrivate, LiveCamModelShows, CamModelDirectory, etc.) are especially worried. I mean, even the Reddit "SUGAR DADDY" forum is gone. It's craziness.

Well here's the real problem. It just blows my mind that this is allowed. Like seriously how is it in any way possible that laws can just be slipped in? The entire system is ass backwards.

Or better yet, when Feinstein said "Well, in order to see what's in it, we have to pass it."

Once everything starts banning adult stuff there goes our advertising which means these sites should have a plan for what they are doing. Not one site has come out with a statement other than IWC stating it wasn't slow or down because of fosta. No site is directly answering the issue of what happens when they loose all of there advertising. This will be the biggest and scariest issue. If the sites cannot get traffic then what?

Once ISPs are allowed to charge whatever they want for adult sensitive content it means we could be charged $20 for our internet to $200 or whatever they feel like charging. I'm sure it will vary between providers and some may be lower or higher - this goes for anyone who wants to watch whatever they deem "adult sensitive" this will only affect USA - this may take a while to happen but this is what is going to happen.

You will have to show ID when purchasing any technology containing "adult sensitive content" - this one will take time because they do not have the technology.

Skype, Craigslist, Reddit, Fetlife and more are slowly getting dismantled, shut down or complete change in TOS. Amazon took down there erotica and you can only find it IF you know the exact name of the book... I mean this is fucking insane.

Next will be online dating sites, tinder, grinder.. You name it - it's going bye bye.

As of right now there is no evidence showing that the President even signed the bill turning it into a law
https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/1865 Now the government moves slowly and possibly they haven't updated the website yet, but even still there is zero reporting on what's happened so far.

Now the question is did the bill get pocket vetoed because he didn't sign it before the the ten day period was up AND while congress was out of session? There's a lot of stuff still up in the air and could be a positive delay once we're able to determine if this actually qualifies for a pocket veto or not.
