It is fun, and I look forward to it each day (except for the Literature day...lol), and the competition makes it even more so.

Was looking forward to literature...then it turned out to be remembering the names of people in shakespeare plays, and dr seuss books.

Bumping this thread, since there we have many new ACF members...

New month's contest starts in 3 days. Come on and join us, the more the merrier! Play as often as you want...daily or just when your favorite categories are on the menu. You will have a better chance to win the monthly contest if you play more often.

(registration required to win daily/monthly contest)

I hate missing questions, but it's that much worse when it's because I misread the question/answers, which happened twice today.

oh christ, that was horrible lol, that christmas trivia crap cost me my lead. How should I know what venezuala's national pizza day is??!

lol, can't guarantee tomorrows quiz will be any easier, but at least it should be Christmas related, I hope.

Is there a mythology category by any chance? I'm a mythology buff too, so it'd be neat.

Found one! I suck at that stuff and you (morment) certainly don't need any extra help, but we'll give 'er a whirl Sunday. :thumbleft:
Cool, and I could use the help, I didn't get a single win last month.

If you are going to replace Mythology, I'd like a return to History. But not the lowest level that we had for a couple of weeks in late 2011. I would also like an upgrade on Movies to the next harder level. If there is a Movie/TV category, that would be good.

Jup requested Video Games. Be careful what you wish for, I can see that being 5 questions on Pong and Space Invaders and the remaining on Apple II text based games...

The problem with the video game category is that, to the best of my knowledge, it's pigeon-holed in the "hobbies" category and so you might get one or two questions about video games and eight or nine about knitting.

The problem with video games is not everybody plays them. I did increase the movies difficulty level by one. There are TV quizzes available, but it's show specific like 'All In The Family' or 'Addams Family', 'The Simpsons', "Star Trek' etc.

We can do one custom category per week and open to suggestions that are generic for everyone.

I got 9/10 because for the last answer I chose something that I thought was a disease, not an actual disease. Rotfl. I'm down with whatever categories because I like challenging myself. :thumbleft:

I think you're probably right about the video games but it would be worth a try, I guess it's not a category.

We can't return to history though, history never repeats.

How about the music category again?

Good to see ya there Rose. The more the merrier!

Found a good one for players wanting more of a challenge and stuck it in the Friday slot. Good luck!
Oh great what's this one, Holidays of the Ancient World?

Just watch out. I'm a trove of useless information that pops up randomly. :D

Ya know there's a daily quiz, right? Or were you just doing a drive-by?

no model has ever lasted more than a couple days in the quiz, they don't have the stamina for it

OK, lots of new ACF members lately. Come on and join us in the daily trivia contest. I need some competition, as Jupiter has lately proven to be lame, slow, and woefully unprepared...

Everybody is bitchin' about the basic brain teasers, lolz.

We could always try calculus trivia quizzes next...

Luke Skywalker travels in his X-Wing along a path C given by the boundary of the area enclosed by a semicircle of radius 3 units, semicircle of radius 1 unit, and the x-axis. (This path is entirely in Quadrants I & II.) A variable force field, created by Darth Vader and given by (2y2)i+(8xy)j --- (i and j are the unit vectors [[1,0]] and [[0,1]]) --- is present. How much work is done on Luke by Vader's force field as he travels completely around the closed loop once?

To complete this problem, you left out a critical piece of information: size of the x-wing's cabin (in volume). Until I have that, I have introduced anther variable, and have worked out the answer to be:

Which can also be expressed as:

Boce, if you would contact the Fields Committee, I'll get my dinner jacket pressed...

Nope, just been sick and busy. I did another one the other day when I remembered. I need to bookmark the tab so I don't forget.

If a group requested hard quizzes, and were given 'Brain Teasers' and all hated it, does this mean:
a) The group would hate all hard quizzes?
b) 'Brain Teasers' is the only hard quiz category
c) Boce should stop being smug and change the category everyone hates (and he himself sucks at too!)
