I have no idea how many times people meet in person after meeting on a camsite. I can say that there's matchmaking services to introduce young women in Colombia to men from other countries, so I don't think it's beyond belief that someone who works as a cam model would use her reach to meet with a man from another country to pursue a relationship.
Not enough information. If you're regularly video calling, watching movies together, etc. that's way too much of a time investment to convince you to fly to Colombia in the hopes of getting the contents of your wallet (and as a tip while you're in Colombia only carry what you plan on spending and can afford to lose in your wallet at any given time, keep the rest in the safe in your room.) Whether it's a lovecon or not depends on how much money you're sending and how much she's pumping you to send money. The less money involved, the less likely it is to be a scam. Whether she's sincerely interested in you or just hoping you can provide a better lifestyle for her with a sugar baby arrangement, another thing that's not uncommon with extranational relationships in Colombia, I can't say. I don't know her heart.
It is more dangerous than what you're probably used to, but it's not like you're walking into a warzone. The stories about foreigners who wind up dead, drugged, or in deep shit in Colombia are usually people who go there for cheap cocaine and sex tourism. Sometimes ecotourists who wander into less stable areas. If you're just there to go to some restaurants and hang out in touristy areas you want to be cautious but you're generally safe. Though I have only been in Medellín, and all the people I know in Medellín don't have anything good to say about Bogotá. So I guess take what I say with that in mind.
Look for guides on visiting and staying safe in Colombia/Bogotá and take them to heart. When leaving your hotel tell the concierge where you're going and ask them if it's safe. All the hotels I've been at in Colombia have provided a list of guidelines and advice on how to stay safe - read them. I have a copy of one of the lists somewhere if you'd like me to send it to you.
Good luck, take care of yourself, and treat this woman well. There are a lot of young women in Colombia looking for a way out of poverty, and a lot of men from other countries take advantage of that. Don't be one of them.
I thought I'd come back to this one. While I see the point you're trying to make, it's not a mistake. It's something that I see all the time and makes the Colombians I know seethe. I just don't feel someone can wax lyrical about how wonderful a country is while simultaneously not even bothering their ass to learn how to spell its name properly. In a previous life I worked for a legal research company and actually had a client from Colombia terminate their contract with us because our researchers kept misspelling it Columbia. They were pissed.

Nope, it was PREDICTIVE text correction. This means that, for some reason, my phone is inclined to format the spelling of Colombia to Columbia (I believe a clothing brand AND a school which is almost definitely WHY it reformatted, I have never typed Colombia I have typed Columbia MANY times). Whether you "believe" me or not is of no consequence. The fact that SO many people have the time to point this out (see, now I am typing on a MacBook Pro with Grammarly setup, and when I type Colombia and Columbia it flags one and suggests the other; who would have thunk it? Right? Or the opposite?). Yet, I daresay it's safe to assume there is almost a zero percent % that those who have pointed this out to me will or do "believe" me. What they fail to realize is that their issue is one of character and personality type (or lack thereof). Usually, the smartest person in the room ends up the ONLY person in said room. I try to assist and or add to things when I contribute. Even if I do so in a straightforward manner (as I did in my first post OR in the case of my second response a bit tangential but IMHO reltional). Of course. I tend to occasionally reply to snarky or silly replies with my version of the same. If something is a tangent that becomes a meandering bit of ramble, a story that jumps about, or is a time suck it's almost 100% a reply to a joke or 'troll" (I use that loosely and don't mean to suggest anything malicious) in a way that entertains me. It's idiosyncratic but just as light-hearted and fun as this or others. That said, I hope no one thought any of my replies or posts to be malicious. Context can be extremely difficult to pick up on (tone, level of seriousness, etc.) via text only. Beg pardon to anyone who may have inferred anything other than that. And yes, being "called out" (for a spelling error however it occurred) was just what I needed to remind me I am better served by reading and reviewing rather than participating in online dialogue. This, too, is a 0% facetious statement. It's just a fact. Sorry for any miscommunication.
