Never request on someone else's tip. I see people do this all the time. It's annoying. If you didn't tip that amount, then you have no business requesting anything for that tip. It's especially true when you see a tip of 500 tokens or more come in, and especially from people you can easily assume are $20 basics.

Adding to that, if the member who tipped specifically said not for topic, don't get all pissy that any sort of topic countdown didn't go down. It's the member's choice if the tip is for a countdown/topic or not.

I was in SimplySara's room the other night and she had a 25,000 token tip dropped on her. She was obviously ecstatic until the freeloaders started demanding she show her appreciation by doing a public show. Then she went medieval on their asses. Good times!

This is a big pet peeve of mine. I hate when a member tips and doesn't request anything for it right away or at all and the freeloaders in the room think they should get something for it anyways. Sometimes I will let the room (guests excluded) pick something if I'm feeling flashy & the tipper doesn't mind, but most of the time whoever spent the tokens gets what they want (within reason ;) )

The only thing that's even more ridiculous is when they claim that an anonymous tip came from them.

When someone says that an anonymous tip came from them, the model can easily look it up and see if that's true.

How?

We can look in our history and notes for that member and see everything they've tipped to us, even anon tips.

Wowwww. Totally did NOT know that! Lol.

 This is an embarrassing thing to learn. I thought I was being sneaky.

Well unless they already think it's you, they probably won't think to look, and as you can see a lot of girls don't know about that feature ;)

Blank anon was about the only way of tipping secretly I felt sure of ever since I was accused of using an alt account, that the model did not even know I had, to tip. I must not have a good poker face, even with my cam off.

Still kind of stupid. They could just add an anonymous user to log all the anon tips.

Could you post a picture of how it looks? Remove all names\notes\details of course :)

I don't see how a model could "add an anonymous user". You can't have a magical data-gathering anonymous conglomerate on your friend's list. If you entered in "anonymous" it would just add the user anonymous to your friends list.

Basically, we just type in a member's name and it shows us like their 10 most recent tips. We can then click about and find out their entire tip history.

It's an excellent way to ferret out those dicks who are all like, "oh no I tipped you, you just missed it". Stupid heads.

With all of that removed it would just be a blank page, it's really nothing fancy. :tongue5:
If we type in someones username it will pull up every single tip they ever gave us, even if it was done anonymous.

Since this guy was claiming to give Lily the tip she could have easily plugged his name in and when no tips happen to appear she would know it wasn't from him.

I've had to use this feature a lot, especially when I sign out for the night and have 8 "bb that anon tip was meeee video now please" messages in my inbox.

Another method which I "conspired" with a model to use was I PM'd her after some troll attempted to claim an anonymous tip, and warned her I was going to tip a certain amount anonymously... when he claimed my tip, she banned the troll. :D

Ok so when we're in the web broadcaster, if someone tips us anon and then says "plz bb send video now", we click their name and then click on "edit notes". This brings up the history & notes page.

This shows the tips that the member has given us. For my example, I used a member who likes to give anon tips sometimes. I've had people try to claim his tips before, so I just check this member's notes page when that happens. The tip I highlighted was an anon tip but they all look exactly the same in the notes page.

Hope that helped you understand it a bit better.

Absolutely, thanks :)

Members should be informed of this. I see absolutely no reason why anonymous tips cant be listed separately.

That's how it works in our token stats. One anonymous username that all anon tips get filed under.

What these girls are talking about, is if YOU tip anonymously, and we have a feeling it's YOU, then we pull up YOUR notes/history, and the tip will show there. We don't have a way to pull up ANONYMOUS as a user and see all the people who tipped under that. So if a person truly is anonymous, and gives no hints of who it is, it's unlikely we'll figure it out enough to use this process.

I'm actually grateful of this feature to avoid instances exactly like the one described above.

Also, sorry if my post was repetitive of the previous informative posts, I clicked to reply before seeing Madison's wonderful post.

Just to be clear about how this feature actually works: You can search up any member, and it will list all tips this member has given you? It doesnt show tips for other models? It isn't limited to members on your friendslist?

I have no idea how they store the tip history data, but we know that every tip must be attributed with a receiver ID (model) and a sender ID (member). If you picture a database of all tips throughout MFC history in it, all your tips can be found by searching for the entries matching your ID.
All tips from a specific member TO you could then be found by searching for all entries matching your ID AND the members ID.

What I am saying is they should set the sender ID to some anonymous dummy account number. That way a query for all tips matching your ID and the member (anon, cockman123, etc) would return the anonymous tips.

By not doing this it seems to me like they actually want models to be able to check if a certain member tipped anonymously, and I feel like members should be informed of this.

Yeah, but anonymous tips should be anonymous :? Ask them to tell what the tip note said (if any) or tell them thanks, but fuck off

And no, I'm glad this feature surfaced and is thoroughly documented :) Seems like few or no members knew about it.

Yes, we can look up any member, not just ones on our friends list, and it shows all tips that were given to the model who is looking it up. It doesn't show anyone else they've tipped. I blurred out part of the URL because it contained identifying information, but there's a section in the URL that says "username=Username&model_name=ModelName" (obviously with the correct info in there). So it's programmed to just come up with the specific token data between that model and that member.

Like Amber said, we aren't usually going to utilize this feature for no reason, and we'd have to have a suspicion of who it was before we could look it up. Let's say I get a 100 token anon tip, and BigDick4uBB says in chat "that was for a video, send video now plz." Since he's never tipped me and I don't know him, I'm not inclined to believe that he sent the tip. So I click his name and look at the history, and it shows that he's never tipped me. So now I know he's a liar and deserves to get sent to Ban Town. But if BigDick4uBB had never said anything, I never would have had a reason to check and see if he sent it. So, that's the purpose of this feature, I'm assuming. I personally am very glad we have it there, although I rarely need to use it.

What happens if you change the Username and\or ModelName in the url? I really hope it doesn't let you do that

Believe me I see all the benefits for you models, but I think quite a few members will be shitting bricks when they realize that there is a way for models to check if they were the anon tipper. Think anon tip notes :shifty:
Final clarification (hopefully): Does it show tip notes?

Wow, I find it very annoying that this can be done. If I tip anonymously I want it to be completely anonymous. Also, knowing that a model can see every tip I have every done for her is also something I do not like. I suppose I can understand why it is there but this will certainly make me think twice about tipping some models. I cant even see every tip I have done for a model and that could have been helpful to me in the past.

But I do thank the models that pointed this out, I like to learn new things about the ins and outs of MFC.

You can change the member username to pull up a different member's notes/tips, but not change the model name.

No tip notes are shown on this page, only on our token stats.

Good question! I tried it out of curiosity and it took me to a page that said "invalid login information". Part of the URL is a string of code that says "passcode", I also blurred that out even though no one could really do anything with that info, but I'm paranoid.

Tip notes are not shown on that page. But they are shown in our Token Sessions page, in our model admin. So if we really wanted to compare, we could do it. So, like, if I get a 123 token anonymous tip today that says "My penis is actually tiny" in the tip note, and later I'm looking up BigDick4uBB's notes and I see a 123 token tip given on 5/7/12, I can make the connection. But again, I'd probably have to have an inkling of who it was to be trying to make these connections in the first place.

P.s. If there's a member out there actually named BigDick4uBB, I don't mean to slander your good name, sir.

edit: I made this post before i saw Amber's post, sorry! well, now you get to read this info twice.

I guess I've never really understood the reason for anonymous tips, except for back when they couldn't be invisible to the room. So why is this?

And I can guarantee you, if you aren't friends with the model and you tip anonymously (especially if you are watching from Member Room or Lounge) a girl is not just going to figure it out. And if you ARE friends with a model and part of her room, why wouldn't you just let it be known that it's you?

I can see people joke tipping anonymously (I have a couple who do, but I figured out who they were without this notes feature) but to legitimately tip a girl, I don't see what the big deal is about being anonymous.

To be anonymous when giving, is to be in the true spirit of generosity and selflessness IMO.

Sure, but to be so paranoid about the girl finding out doesnt really lend itself to this sentiment.

Quit asking, How much was that tip? if you missed it you missed it., How much $$$$ was that for you?,How much $$$$ do you make a month?. If you wish to know these things put in the time in that models room. It's NONE of your business as to how much any Model makes a month. Would you like it if your coworkers continuously asked you, how much you make a month? I think not. Do some research into how the site works and figure it out yourself. If you're too lazy to do that then just watch the show, enjoy the show, and TIP a little bit sometimes.
