It's a very common and well known slang term in the UK for boobs, so I think most people have heard of it, and she definitely had.

No, I wouldn’t be offended at all by the term. But I would still prefer the guy call mine “boobs” or “tits” when in my room and complimenting me, since that’s what I refer to them as.
