I have to say, I have never understood getting offended when people try to help. Even if it's in saying something that you think is obvious. Saying that they must think you are stupid for not knowing it implies that anyone who didn't know it is stupid. There have been so many times when someone got offended at me sharing something because of that, but it just made me feel stupid cause I'd only just figured it out.

Different things are obvious to different people, is all.

Now, I do get the whole "don't tell me how to do my job unless you've done it" thing. I had that problem when I was a clerk at a gas station. Shit, I had someone threaten to tell on me to the manager because I "wasn't behind the cash register" when he came in. I said "go ahead, just make sure you tell her I was changing the coffee". He was surprised to learn that I was responsible for more than the cash register.

This is why, the advice should be worded very very carefully. Instead of "this is how you should cam", you say "this is what I look for in a camgirl."

Oh! That list of member-advice threads. I forgot one (cause I had to search for this one specifically, the others I found by searching "advice" and "advise" and "tips")

Members: What makes you stay in a model's room?

That's probably the thread where you should've posted. ^_^

Personally, I see all unsolicited advice the same way because of a select few experiences. I just hate being patronised; i.e. "hun" or "dear" or "you obviously are new at this sweets you so don't know how this works" when I wouldn't take PayPal.

I know it's not the best way to see things, but I can't change my opinion until guys stop being dicks.

My only real issue with this thread is the title. Suggestions for models from members? No, unless you got together with a large group of varying members to compile this complaint thread, you can only speak for yourself. It should have been more along the lines of 'Bossy and semi-insulting suggestions for models from a member who wants to see models work in the way he prefers'.

For me, the anger started when he mentioned that we are in customer service. You don't hear us saying, "Hi Welcome to my room. I'm Jillybean. I hope you're having a good day. What can I do for you?"

No, we don't...but I might have to start just for the lulz.

Personally, I didn't really care for all the comparison to "top models". All models are different and we shouldn't all be put in one category to compare and contrast. I am by no means a successful camgirl (yet haha) but that is something that takes a lot of time and effort. So obviously if I plan on finding any sort of success as a cam model, I'm going to learn from the successful ladies on this forum (if you took the time to explore the forum you'd see that there are plenty). Just like if I wanted to enter the film industry, I wouldn't ask someone sitting in a movie theater. I'd obviously ask someone with experience in the field.

I don't think this thread was intended to offend anyone and I'm not offended... It's just kind of annoying. Like all you girls said, it's flippin irritating to have someone pop into the forum and tell us how to do our jobs. Most of the things stated were pretty obvious anyway, even to us n00bs ;) haha

I just don't understand how a person can come into completely new turf, and just tell without looking around and asking questions.

I'm not in a super mood, but that's no need to excuse what I say because I mean every word of it.

I'm getting pretty fucking sick and tired of these threads.

Malek, you have ZERO experience in our industry. You are 100% totally fucking clueless about what it takes to be a successful model, and you, like so many other conceited self-absorbed men, think that spending a few hours watching models online makes you qualified to give us advice on our jobs.

Yeah, this isn't a fucking hobby. Do you know what happens when I don't get on cam and earn? I don't pay my rent.

Why would ANYONE in the goddamn world take advice on their jobs from someone who has no idea what they are talking about? I have two years of experience camming. How many years do you have? How many months? What websites do you cam from? Or are you just a dumbass who thinks he's going to get brownie points by rolling in to a forum and making a post about how us dumb cunts should do our jobs? It is 100% clear how you view us - don't try to pretend otherwise.

This is one of the most vapid, patronizing, idiotic posts I've seen in a while. You need to get your head out of your ass and figure out that we are not drooling stupid bimbo sluts who can't figure stuff out UNLESS YOU TYPE IT IN ALL CAPS.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, MODELS HAVE THEIR OWN RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO THEM - based on years of experience from people who actually know what the hell they're doing.

Now kindly shut the fuck up and stop telling us how to do our jobs.

To be fair, in the original post he did say he wanted other members to join in too.

I searched but didn't really see a topic that addresses this kind of thing. I want to make a thread where members can make suggestions for models. If this has been done to death already then feel free to delete this, I'm new here so I'm not sure. Anyway, as a member of MFC I have some suggestions for models so here goes

  • Get an HD cam. I'm not watching somebody who's blurry and neither is anybody else. Need more proof, name one girl in the top 100 who doesn't have an HD cam. You can't.
I hear some girls say they can't afford one, but they're only about 100 dollars. These same girls probably have a 200 dollar phone that costs 80 bucks a month. If you can afford internet, and a computer, you can afford an HD cam. If you can't, stay off the site until you can.

When you're playing music on your laptop, you need to understand the speakers are close to the cam's mic, and the music is A LOT LOUDER for the guys watching you then it is for you. Also MFC has this weird thing where you have to reset the volume everytime you go into a new room. So the first thing I have to do every single time I go in a models room is immediately turn down the sound. It's annoying, so turn down the music. I've also noticed the top models don't seem to have this problem, I've never been blasted in the ears by some God awful dubstep crap when I go to GinnyPotter or Leas room. These girls are smart.

Don't look at your phone when you're on cam. I'm going to repeat this because it bears repeating. STAY OFF THE PHONE WHEN YOU'RE ON CAM. As soon as a girl starts texting I know she's not interested in being on cam and I leave and usually never come back.

Don't PM me if I don't know you. Definitely don't PM when I'm not in your room unless we're friends. It reeks of desperation and it just annoys me. It's fine if I get PM's from models who I do know, in fact it's nice. I wouldn't get upset if a friend called me at anytime of the day or night, but I'm not OK with telemarketers calling me ever.

Don't beg for tips. Don't threaten either. It's fine if you say, well guys I'm going to get off here if we don't reach this countdown by such and such time. I understand you have a life. Hell it's probably better and more interesting than mine, so I understand if you have to be somewhere by 5, but don't say things like "Come on guys, if nobody tips I'm outta here!". That just annoys people, and makes us feel guilty. And it doesn't lead to more tips.

You're in the customer service business, so don't come on cam if you're upset or annoyed, because it will show. I've seen so many girls, even ones I like, who were on cam when they really shouldn't have been. And they ended up taking their bad day out on the members. We've all had experience with a waiter who was upset and giving us the bum's rush when we were at their restaurant, and it sucks. But guess what, they don't get tipped very well at the end of the meal. I understand life sucks sometimes, but if you can't be on cam without the attitude, don't be on cam.

If any other members have suggestions please respond. I also have noticed that the top models every month are rarely ever guilty of the crimes I listed. I realize they're top models because they're beautiful and interesting, but they also don't do anything that could annoy a member, and I think this adds greatly to their appeal.

Okay I understand the not PMing when you aren't in the room, but I personally, (especially because I'm just starting to cam as full time, and not just as a pop up model working around 2 jobs and school), like to PM people who are in my room that are new, just to say Hi. Not to beg or anything, I just believe if you are visiting my room, its respectful to be like oh hi thank you for coming to my room enjoy :) and if you lead into oh I love your blah blah blah...then I'll start into that. If not just Hi, how are you. Thank you for coming. Does that upset you? Or is it when the models PM you and are like blah blah tokens for this bb? Just curious. Thanks for the thread!

  • I started camming on a shitty built in cam. You know what happened? A member purchased a good one for me. For some girls, camming is the only job they can have for multiple reasons. Health issues or the fact that no one is hiring. So how can you afford a good cam, when you have no other source of making money???

When you're playing music on your laptop, you need to understand the speakers are close to the cam's mic, and the music is A LOT LOUDER for the guys watching you then it is for you. Also MFC has this weird thing where you have to reset the volume everytime you go into a new room. Some of my biggest tippers love house music. I've been tipped multiple times just for my music alone.

Don't look at your phone when you're on cam. I'm going to repeat this because it bears repeating. STAY OFF THE PHONE WHEN YOU'RE ON CAM. As soon as a girl starts texting I know she's not interested in being on cam and I leave and usually never come back.
I cam during normal office hours. Unfortunately, I've had to make a ton of dr. appointments lately, which every time I've had to leave a voicemail. So everyday for a week now, they've been calling me back while I'm on cam. They are phone calls I have to take. I'm fortunate enough to have understanding guys in my room who wait patiently, talk amongst themselves, and sometimes surprise me with a tip while I'm in the other room. I understand this is a job, but I'm the boss of my room and just like any other owner of a company, they are more than allowed to take an important phone call during a meeting.

    Okay, I get this one.

It's less about having to be somewhere and more about camscore. :twocents-02cents:

Sometimes you have bad MONTHS. So don't cam for months???? No. I agree you shouldn't take it out on members but I log on in a bad mood all of the time and my members actually cheer me up.

I hate how members seem to think it's totally ok to go up to a group of complete strangers and tell them how to do a job that they themselves have never done better.

Imagine this is a forum for professional athletes, and someone who watches the olympics but has never played any of these sports in his or her life except maybe the odd local game goes up to them all and makes a post saying "What you're all doing wrong, the viewers perspective" and lists a load of ways these athletes should train, things they should do, stuff like that. Technically sports make money because they're entertainment so it's really not all that different. I am personally very aware when I watch sports that although it looks easy peasy, it is not the case at all. Camming is the same. Just because you're sat there comfortably enjoying your viewing experience doesn't mean the model is in her chill time.

My advice to you. If you see a model with a particularly bad camera who you like, offer her an amazon gift voucher so she can buy a cam.

If you see a model you like who's got too loud music, let her know about it! (preferably write it in a tipnote) She may not be aware of it!

If she's texting constantly and completely ignoring the room, then that's her issue, stick around or click next model.

Be aware that not every model wants to be a "top model". Sure the money would be amazing, but the high profile spot, all that hard work, having to devote so much time to camming and dealing with loads of fans, you're potentially giving up a lot of your life. A large amount of models are pretty dam happy with making $20-$100 per hour and not working long hours.

Be aware when giving advice about a job you have zero experience in that seeing as a model is actually doing the job, and unless she is a brand spanking new model, or even a model who's been working a few months, she is probably well aware of her options to cam.

Be aware that funnily enough, models can watch other models just the same as you can, so YES we have all got the option of seeing exactly how the "top girls" cam. In fact, a large portion of models actually have member accounts and many are regular tippers of other girls.

Be aware that this section has a models only section where models can share every single detail of needed information. This includes things that their tipping regulars have told them, things they've noticed makes them more or less money, mistakes girls often make, information about cameras, lighting, internet, laptops, the whole lot!
Just because you cannot access this part of the forum doesn't mean it's there.

Now why is a model better at giving advice to another model than a member? You might be thinking "well members are the paying customers!"

The reason is you are ONE paying customer (at least I hope, if you're not then seriously STFU and enjoy your free entertainment). Getting a better webcam and not ignoring people in the room is not hard to figure out, those who do it either don't give a crap and make enough as it is, or they've decided against it for some reason. Unless they're super new.
I personally talk to lots of paying customers. I know what they like about me, I know what their lives are like. For most of them I know why they come to mfc in the first place. In fact most of my regulars are completely different and have totally different likes and dislikes about me. As I have this contact with these people, it is much easier for me personally to work out what I'm doing right and wrong than it'd be for one person on the outside with their own personal preferences.
Then I go and talk to loads of other models, some very successful, and some less successful, but all making a living. And they share their experiences with this forum, which means I get to read all that other info. So I not only know the opinions of all my tippers, I also know the opinions of the members who visit girls who've posted this stuff on here. Then I also read things that members write on here in various discussions. This information is very valuable.

Telling a group of models who already figured it out years ago that getting a decent webcam would be beneficial is just pointing out the obvious.

This is not your job. This is not your income. You are a viewer. Stop worrying about the models who aren't doing well on mfc. There will always be models who don't do well. Focus on all the thousands of models who do have decent cameras and take camming seriously. Yes there are some models on the last page who just sit there, ignore them if you don't like them, they're not hurting you. Like I said before, if getting a new webcam is such a big deal then amazon vouchers are wonderful!

Just one last point, I would also really like you to be made aware, that just like you have absolutely nothing to do with any other member on mfc, I have absolutely nothing to do with any other model on mfc. Yes I am friends with many and think loads of them are hot, but my camming has nothing to do with any of them. If I have a tantrum on camera I would hope someone wouldn't approach a bunch of innocent models and say "stop having tantrums on cam". If you have beef with a model, sort it out with her. Please stop bunching us all together.

Whatever your intentions were, however much you may have been trying to help us, please stop going up to complete strangers and telling them how to do their jobs. It is rude. It'd be rude in real life, and it's definitely still rude here. Yes you see our pussies if you like, but that does not mean we're super close buddies. Jesus, I wouldn't even advise one of my best friends how to do their job completely unsolicited unless I maybe had extensive experience in it.

I am technically a premium as well as a model.

My best advice to get all my tokens is

1-Free skype shows, Proove your worth muy money bitch
2-Free videos...you want me to pay for something i can torrent....silly girl
3-Start the cumshow---then I will tip.

Get back to me when you are ready to submit to my needs.

I know what you mean, Luna, and you are a kind-hearted and patient soul for thinking that way. But I feel that:

TRYING TO HELP ≠ HELPING

(I put keywords in caps for ready comprehension.)

Furthermore, people "trying to help" often aren't really trying very hard.

I agree that for the mot part there is no need to be offended when people are trying to help.

But you don't have to be offended to be annoyed, or bothered by.

Hey guys!

I watch tv a lot. SO Im going to go write down a list of what actors/directors/producers are all doing wrong and what they need for success.

I mean, Ive been watching tv for like, 20 years, so I know how to be successful at it! Nevermind the fact that I have zero experience actually being in the business.

:hello2:
Oh shit. I think I've almost did that once, but then I forgot to mail it.

I can name a top 20 girl with a non-HD blurry cam.

She changes her name a lot but for a while she was "lush" something or other. She's on this forum too. I don't kno if its a built in cam but its certainly not super duper quality.

I can name successful models that do all the things you talk about and still make it.

Yes most of these things are bad.. and should be discouraged. But it's a lot better coming from other models than members...

I think it is fair that members might point out that they notice. After all, we aren't all grunting apes with our cocks in our hands, unable to notice the details because we're too busy looking at tits.

That stated, it's the way in which we members declare our notice that makes a difference. Coming onto the models' turf and making a list of grievances without first getting to know the atmosphere of the place is a real turnoff. It's like walking into somebody's living room, and immediately insulting the decor, even if you do mean well.

Bad analogy. Happens all day everyday. Better known as sports talk radio, ESPN, and thousands of sports columnists and bloggers. Some make tons of money giving unsolicited, uninformed opinions.

Other than that, spot on.

Well, it's not really unsolicited. Sports talk on radio and TV is PART of the business--it actually promotes the business. I saw Isabella's analogy more along the lines of an "armchair quarterback" leaving his easy chair, beer and chips and driving to an arena or the like, walking into the locker room, and expounding his "advice" directly to the pros.

It's actually a bit more like walking into someone living room, not looking around and saying "God, why does no one around here have any armchairs?! Seriously re think your decorating! This is ridiculous! I hate it when people can't be bothered to get armchairs!" When if they just looked over to the left they'd see 3 armchairs.

Yes some models have shit cams. I have not seen an acf model who has a shit cam, so coming here telling us to do something because of girls who have nothing to do with this forum is silly.

As far as I can tell, looking through cams on mfc, thousands of models, majority of them have decent cameras and lighting. Why oh why, if that is an issue for you would you bother yourself with girls who don't want to have a good cam and lighting?! It's not my fault that some other girl hasn't updated her cam, or that she's never had a gift voucher off a regular.

Coming to a camgirl forum and saying "hey everyone! Ever thought of updating your camera?" and acting like you've just come up with some brilliant, totally original advice just makes you look dumb.

I did actually post this on another part of the forum, but so the OP sees it, camgirls are WOMEN. If you have ever spent any time with women you will know that women don't like being given unsolicited advice. Women don't like being told what to do. They especially don't like being told what to do by a random man they don't know who's talking about something he doesn't really know about. I swear this is like basic rules that all men find out pretty quickly. Sure men slip up and forget, but you must know!
I accept that a fair few men do come to cam sites because they have a lack of female attention in their lives, and maybe that is because you know so little about us.

Coming up to a group of strangers and telling them how to do their jobs (which you have no experience in) is NEVER ok. I don't understand why people who make these threads and try giving camgirls usually terrible advice act so surprised when we are negative and annoyed at being approached that way. A man would have to have some nerve going up to a woman in real life and saying that kind of stuff.

It's not helpful, it's patronising. To be fair this isn't the worse post ever... but, it's uncalled for and not necessary. And actually there have been quite a few posts on here from members telling camgirls what to do, if you'd found any of them you'd have seen they didn't go down well. One time the OP was actually banned for continuing on at everyone and not backing down.

A tip for you, members trying to give camgirls advice is one of the biggest pet peeves. I get less angry when a guy calls me a filthy whore than I do when someone tries giving advice. The only times I've ever take advice from members it's fucked up my camming, has made me miserable and has lost me a fair amount of money.

And yes Nordling that was exactly what I meant by my post. :)

how about this one

imagine walking into a strip club. no money for tips, no money for even a beer. You wedge yourself beside a crowd of men, who are loving this girl on stage. They just tipped her a couple minutes earlier, and are planning on taking her away from the crowd once the song is over. You, feeling a strong sense of compassion, and pride in yourself... whisper into her ear
"hey bb, mind bending over and spredin' dem bum cheeks? All the guys would love to see that. You'll make some serious $$$"
without even throwing a bill, or showing any gratitude towards her epic moon walk on the pole or courage for being up there.
Stripper looks at you like you are crazy, dudes who have been encouraging her this whole time look at each other like "wtf is this guys deal" and bouncer decides your free ride is over, and chucks you out for being a douche bag and not paying for services you can't even afford or care to.

I don't know where I was going with that one, I got side tracked by a youtube video but you figure out the rest.

:hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

I FORGOT COAT CHECK. YOU OBVIOUSLY PAID FOR A FREE LIFE TIME PASS FOR COAT CHECK BUT THATS IT.

I think what annoys me most about this guy is that he walked right into this forum, realized he made a mistake in starting this thread, but still thinks he knows best how to run these forums telling us to sticky the advice for models threads. He must be ignoring this thread hoping Amber will delete it so we'll forget all about it.

You made a mistake. Man up and move on.
