Yeah, but that would happen regardless. It has nothing to do with how they found the site.

I, for example, found the site when I made a rare trip to 4chan. I went for the /x/ board, but it happened to get taken over by /b/ because of some "puddi puddi" thing. After a series of events someone posted pictures of a model on MFC, a site I had never heard of. That led me to the site and I got hooked. Not only did I find the site from a forum/imageboard, but a number of my favorite models I first saw on forums and hunted them down on MFC. This was before the "Most Popular Models" page and it's likely I wouldn't have come across these models otherwise, as they were on the lower end of the camscore spectrum.

I'll agree that a large number of the the members on the site are freeloaders and will never venture past public chat, but more people means more chance at tippers. The ratio sucks, generally, but you figure 25 people enter your room, 2-3 of them will tip something.

I've never done a real private, and maybe only a dozen or so real group shows, but I've tipped 40,000+ tokens on the site in the year I've been there. 90% of that in public chat.

LOL... sorry, when I said "people" I meant "premiums."

If you have 200 people in your room, 120 of them are guests, 60 are basics, and of the 20 premiums 1 or 2 of them will tip.

Lol. Wow. Things took an interesting direction from the very serious initial post. Not to ruin the fun, but this is a big topic for me and I'd like to vent my thoughts!!

Before I do so, I first want to say that the little fox is probably one of the most adorable little furry things I've ever seen!

Ok back to the seriousness of the topic. Without giving too much personal info out, I will just say that I have some elements in my life that do make me nervous about camming. I think like many, I am not ready for the moment that, say, my mom comes to me fully aware of what I'm doing.

However, I worry about those things because I worry how they will feel and what they will think. When I take them out of the equation, and I focus solely on what I feel and think? I love camming. I enjoy it, a lot. I definitely can understand and appreciate the negative judgments that come with it, but I personally think "to each their own". If you enjoy and are good at writing, you become an author. If you're good at and enjoy making people laugh, you become a comedian or a...a...clown (yikes!). I happen to be good at and enjoy camming and providing entertainment for people...is this so bad? Idk.

I try to avoid the thought that eventually one day I will be found out. Or maybe I can call it "discovered". Sigh. The damage has been done. I've been posting stuff for years online. Might as well continue at this point, I guess.

Completely agree, and I commend the curtness of your initial post. Far too many people want reality checks or rude awakenings to be "sugar-coated"..but this is a serious issue. I, for one, would not be pleased if I was getting screen-capped and I am fully prepared to have to explain to whoever (employers, family) it comes across.

It bothers me, but not enough to quit and even if I did, my shit is probably already circulating in the realms of cyberspace anyway. :violin:

Hiii! I'm digging these conversations, I'm going to digress...
I've been camming for a few months, and I fully understood that there would and will be pictures posted of me forever. But I just had a user show me a link where someone uploaded a video of my shows. And it's scary to see it really happening. I know I was ignorantly blissful prior to his random pm. The watermarks are a good idea as at least they provide an advertisement. I'm going to look into that ;D thank you all!

FifthElephant makes a great point with regards to facial recognition software. You might be an unpopular model now who flies beneath the radar, but it will only be a matter of time before we have computers powerful enough to scan the entire internet for pictures of a certain person.

This capability already exists in limited form today. Check out http://www.tineye.com. Tineye lets you search for variations on an image, but doesn't quite do facial recognition yet. But you can see where the technology is headed. Upload a picture of a girl, and find every other picture or video of her on the internet. I'd say we're definitely going to have that kind of technology in the next 30 years.

We absolutely are, but I don't know that civilians will have access. Despite what lots of telly shows indicate, law enforcement including the feds doesn't have Facial Recognition down-pat. And when they do (probably next couple years)--they're going to CLOSELY guard that secret. While no doubt this sort of thing will eventually spill into the civilian market, I just don't see it becoming commonplace.

And agreed about Fifth Element. I only have like 11 hearts on Streamate right now, but I've only been on for two days. Haven't taken my clothes off. I wonder if the alleged "protections" streamate has about the video not being recordable are easy to get around. Thoughts, anyone?
