Definitely. One of my biggest pet peeves is that there's such a huge idea that someone being in sex work automatically means they've given up on life and lost all their dignity. "She's just gonna end up in porn or as a stripper." is something I hear all the time and it makes me so mad because it's meant as an insult. Sex work = unhappy. Some of us are proud of what we do, thanks! I do cam and porn because I love my body and love sharing my body. I'm proud of my life and what I have. I'd love to fight for more open, legal sex work because I think it would keep this industry much safer as well. If you have legal porn studios and legally run brothels etc., you have regulations. You have rules in place that can help keep STDs and STIs out of models and clients. I think people working in the industry should have to go through proper testing and such to be here. If you keep it illegal, not only does the stigma get worse, but you have people not following proper health practices during intercourse as well. Maybe because they're scared their doctor will judge them or they're scared they'll get caught doing something illegal or just don't know any better because, let's face it, sex education is rather lacking as well.
