Newbie problems SM getting viewers

We tried Chaturbate for a week, no towers. Someone suggested streamate so my husband and I tried it last night fur the first time. We had 0 paid viewers age only 1-2 grey viewers at any given time.
Our lighting and cam and other tech stuff are fine so what are we doing wrong?
We aren't an odd couple, I have dyed hair and piercings but we are both fit. I thought you weren't supposed to have nudity but there was a couple having anal on free chat! Do we just have to give it away for free profusely? How do you entice people? We did dances and tried chatting, had on a cute outfit. I showed my boobs some but was afraid of doing more. This is a huge self esteem hit. We are in our thirties so we can't compete with cute young things.
I've put enough money into this,i really would like to be successful but my husband is ready to quit. Is it just impossible as a newbie to make money? Is my husband right and we should just quit? It's also a lot of time invested! Please help!

when you are new to any site its hard, couples especially on sm do not generally rank on the first page. Its up to you to make a different product to what anyone else is offering, or a better product. This is a sales job, remember. A week is not long enough to really test out a site, if the hours you tried didnt work try different hours. Try just having the female on cam (im assuming you are a mf couple, sorry if this isnt the case) and then only introducing the male when people ask. Switch it up a little

Below the belt nudity on streamate is against the rules, and when caught you will get your account deleted any any money earned kept! Do not do it! If you give it away for free you will attract the scavengers.

I shouldn't really comment as I'm not a member of CB or SM so I don't know how they work, but a week isn't very long, takes a while to build up a following and a fan base

I would think that if you guys make sure you are having a nice time with each other on cam, even if it's just chatting about a topic you both enjoy, that will come across and people will get captured by your personalities and want to join in and have fun with you

Watch other popular couples, think about what you like about what they're doing/offering and let that inspire you for ideas for your camming

Bit vague advice; hope it turns out being an enjoyable and profitable venture for you both.

Are you using the broadcaster or encoder, or are you just using the in browser HD streaming option? This makes a BIG difference.
I agree that it also may be a negative attitude or vibe you're giving off without even realizing it, just judging by how you speak about yourself here.

Don't write yourself off because of your age. Just a few days ago there was a couple in their 50s or 60s doing shows on the front page.

Streamate is actually slower when you're new, compared to other sites. You have to be around more before you get more of a customer base, usually.

Having very few people in your room is typical, since it's a private based site, you're not going to have a lot of people hanging out in free chat, and people pop in and out of rooms pretty fast sometimes. That's normal, they're looking for exactly what they want.

If your husband is ready to quit but you want to keep trying, make a solo account, then he can quit and you can keep trying. Streamate is a great site for a wide variety of people - you'll frequently see more mature women and Bbw's all over the front page, it's really one of the most varied sites regarding who can succeed really well.

Couples camming is a niche. Comparatively few guys are into couple shows, not everyone likes seeing some other guy's dick in their porn. That's probably why you don't get many viewers at a time. Solo camming is likely more popular and if you're sexy enough to couples cam, you're definitely sexy enough to cam solo.

I used to do ok on Streamate and it was my primary site for around 18 months. I left it in January as my ID expired and they took too long to approve it despite me doing it a month early. By the time it was approved I was working elsewhere, I couldn't be messed around like that. I did return one afternoon around a month ago. It was very slow.

If my account is not deactivated I might give it another look. It took me quite a bit of perseverance from what I recall. It's a slower burn.

Site placement & confidence / enthusiasm is all I can recommend as I haven't seen you on cam.

I make a really good hourly wage on the site. When I'm online, lately I've been ranking #6-#10 in the models on the list... I feel really grateful for this. However, when I started on Streamate last December, I posted a bunch on this forum about how no one came in my room and how it was frustrating.

The problem had nothing to do with me, but rather - it had to do with the location of my picture on the site. Guys couldn't find me, so they didn't come in my room. Or when they did, my room appeared dead - thus less appealing / more desperate seeming.

1. SITE PLACEMENT
- Clean up your laptop. Delete any files you don't need, run anti-virus software, move any big movies / photo albums / videos to another computer.
- Use a high-quality webcam.
- Use SM broadcast 13 (not 16) or Adobe FMLE. SM broadcast will get you higher placement.
- Offer phone sex- hook up your phone to the site. You don't have to use it but it boosts your placement. Turn it on each time you broadcast.
- Go online for 30 hours (not all at once). Once you have 30 hours under your belt, as long as it's all in a 90 day period, you'll notice your placement will go WAY up.

2. ENTHUSIAM
- I say "hi everyone" even if there is only one person in the room.
- I talk and smile a lot. If there is no one talking to me, I type... "talk to me, I am lonely. " Kind of a pathetic approach but IT WORKS - people talk to me.
- If no one talks to me, I just talk as if they are or talk about my life.
- If I am talking, people don't get bored and, they stay in my room, get intrigued, and then - if I float their boat, they take me private.
- Some girls tease in their room and some don't. Just figure out what works for you.

Yes I would switch to SM broadcast if you can. I find it REALLY boosts my placement. @AlexLady has a copy of SM broadcast version 13 in the model-only section of this forum. I personally find the version of SM broadcast that Streamate has available to download (version 16) to be way too glitchy - has lots of techincal issues that could make it hard for members to see your feed clearly.

Another thing you can do is up your internet speed. With a faster speed, Streamate could push your site placement from page 5 to page 1 or 2, allowing more members to find you. I did this and my new placement allowed me to pay off the cost of the new fast internet in 1 hour.

I never even look at the free chat and keep it minimized.

You know how you save messages for chat, 1-5? You can have separate ones for Guest, Paid, and Free chat. I use that while ignoring everything they say and do my thing while occasionally clicking one of my pre-written messages when I see a lot of them watching.

Excellent tip, didn't know you could have messages exclusively for free chat members. I didn't want to type anything to them as I didn't want to confuse the regular members.

It seems like it could easily be more trouble than it's worth, unless the culture is that they don't automatically expect it if I have that option showing.

Double post, sorry, didn't read the whole thread. I haven't tried saving anything specifically for free chat before. If I do, is it *only* free chat users who will see it? Free chat users see guest chat, but maybe not vice versa? Tbh, I'm not sure who free chat users even are. How do you talk on site with a username without signing up with a credit card, or am I just really confused about how it works?

Yes, the 1-5 saved messages are chat room specific; Paid, Guest, and Free.

I have more than 5 in Guest, 5 in paid, and only 3 in guest. They're all unique.

Free chat: Usernames without credit card. You want to enable this for top placement/income.


Here is an example of my messages. See how the first two are 1-5, and the last is only 1-3? They're unique.







And how to enable free chat (on the same page you stream on with the chat windows, you can open the settings page before turning on your cam.)

That's one thing I'm still wondering about. Who are those users without credit card, and how/where do they sign up? I've never seen a way to sign up that way, or I might have done it myself!

If you have your phone on, they *could call during your private and then get frustrated when you don't pick up. However, that's rarely happened to me (although I usually do answer the phone, it intrigues me.) Generally people ask me first, "Do you do phone?" before a phone private.

If you don't answer they will likely leave. Yesterday my phone was facedown on my desk and i had NO IDEA the guy i was in excl with was calling me because he didn't say "i'm gonna call" like they USUALLY DO, and when i didn't answer he left. I didn't even realize he had called until i saw I had a missed call.

Remember to have your voicemail disabled if you use the phone service. If you miss the call or if your phone company sends him to voicemail for any reason he can hear your personal message. If you don't have a personal message, it will often automatically say "The phone number 555-555-5555 can not be reached please leave a message" etc.

Call your cell on another phone, don't answer your cell, and see what you have set up to make sure it has your privacy intact.
