Having never seen you on cam, I can't say what you're doing wrong (if anything at all), but this awesome thread Evvie created is worth reading over. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=11649

Hi and welcome to the forums! :hello2:

Don't forget to take advantage of the opportunities to advertise yourself here on ACF. A link in your signature and regular posts to the Model's Ad forum and Camming Now thread might not get a huge influx of traffic, but it might net you a quality regular or two. The ACF member class does tend to be of a somewhat higher pedigree than the general MFC population in that regard, I think.

I'm having the same problem.. I went out bought some new toys and lingerie but I've been gettin nothing but "traffic" when i'm on for hours.

Make sure your room topic and profile explain to members what they can tip you for. If you don't have a goal or anything you're offering, they have no incentive. And don't be tricked into giving "previews" or whatever, if you give people an inch they will take a mile.

As my two year camming anniversary approaches, I can confidently say that I have literally never EVER been tipped or otherwise paid by ANY member who asks for, and receives, a free preview.

New props are always super fun, but they are just that - props. There are always going to be a thousand girls with more toys and clothing with you, but none of them are necessarily going to make any more money. Especially if you are not consistently earning, there is no need to spend money on extra stuff. Over time I have accumulated huge amounts of toys, props, game accessories, lingerie, ad nauseum - and now I only wear my normal street clothes on cam and I use only two toys, and I'm making more now than I did then (minus hundreds of dollars spent on crap I never use). If you have money to spend, it may best be used upgrading equipment, getting a better camera, a better computer, better lighting, et cetera.

I completely agree with Evvie, a better camera, better lighting, and getting a better internet connection are way way more important than toys. Toys are fun and all but if we can't see you are using your laptops builtin webcam, or your audio is bad, and video looks like a bad Anime, then no blinking, multispeed, squirting vibrator is going to help get and keep premiums.

One of the models I visit a lot struggled for ages with crappy computer and really piss poor internet. She spent $40 for a long ethernet cord so now she has direct internet connection instead of wifi. Now her cam score instead of being stuck at 1000 is 1500. The new computer helped to.

In contrast, another model I know who has been camming for about 6 months has seen her camscore go down. She is really stunning, which I only know because of the picture that she has posted on her twitter (often shot by somebody with a real camera). Instead of spending $80-$100 for a good webcam she has spent at least twice that much on hitachi and other dildos.

Mfc works on tips, which means members are not obligated to give you their money. Some do when they are having a good time. It is your responsibility to create this "good time". Whatever that might be.
Just buying toys and lingerie won't get you to make money here. You have to be creative, have a good attitude, get the right equipment and market yourself.
Being consistent and professional (keeping your promises to members) is important also.
Camming is so much more than masturbating or looking pretty.

I hope you figure out your style on mfc. I would say almost all new models are lost at the beginning (including me). Read this forum (especially the models only section), it has some great information!

Personally, if you have people just hanging out and never tipping...kick them out occasionally. If they're not tipping anyway, you're not losing anything, and it may create an incentive if they enjoy your room.

This reminded me of a conversation I once had with a book publisher who started selling unencrypted Ebooks way before anyone else was selling them at all. People would always ask him how he could do that because people could post them for other people to steal them.

His response was let them. Most people who are honest will still pay for the books anyway, and if they aren't honest you aren't out a sale anyway. Maybe right now they are just down on their luck, out of work and have no money. Let them read my books and get hooked on those authors. When they get back on their feet and have money to buy books again they'll be wanting the latest ones in the series by all those authors they read before.

Wise man.

It's true there are a lot of 'freeloaders' on MFC. But I would say there's also a heck of a lot of people who are in the category of just not being able to afford tokens every day. Many not even every week or month. But circumstances change all the time. When they do get some tokens they will be spending them where they like to hang out. So I would have to say I can't quite agree with the 'not losing anything' theory. Why burn bridges when you don't need to?

I have seen broke-ass members drop nice tips before, when they had money. You never know.

Yea, I'd rather log off from lack of tips than go on a banning prems spree. At least they've tipped one model, unlike basics.
