hey so I'm super new to this whole camming thing and my chat is usually pretty dead. any advice of how to get more members in my room? also what are the best times to go live? i can never figure out what times are best

If you're on MFC there's a chart on this page that I find helpful when trying to determine the best times to get online, especially when you're new (the big red and yellow chart): http://mycamgirl.net/myfreecams/infographic

It shows the times when more girls with higher cam scores are online, meaning newer girls with smaller cam scores are pushed down the list and harder to find. Look for times that don't have a ton of girls with big cam girls so that you will appear higher on the list and be more likely to be found.

I myself have tried every shift possible back when I first started to figure out what worked best for me. I can tell you for certain that you will tend to see higher room counts logging in at times when the top models are online. However, this doesn't necessarily equal more tips. Perhaps it means more of a potential to be tipped with more people in your room but... eh. Not really, in my experience. Therefore, I think it's a matter of finding what time works best for you and that means experimenting with different time slots and, even better, doing a camathon, even multiple camathons. The bottom line: Whatever times work best for the members that are your regulars is the time you will ultimately want to select and stick to.

Yeah, it not unreasonable to assume that top models tend to go on when demand is highest. It's supply and demand. It's a matter of demographics for demand.

Over the years I've looked at demographics information for various big sites, pornhub, wikipedia etc, but it's not possible to draw conclusions in a time zone way. I don't have any advice for US models yet, but for non US models on MFC, undoubtedly the demand is highest in North America.

It would be nice if @MyCamgirl could do a more indepth look at the issue as there is lots of useful data available there.

I agree that this is the ideal situation but I disagree that is always what is best token-wise in my experience.

For example, my ideal time is to start at 8/9AM and log out around 5/6PM - a "normal" work day .My body naturally wants to sleep around 10PM and wake up at 7AM. I love to wake up, start working and then have time to myself after work to unwind and relax. Whenever I take a few days off caming, my body naturally goes back into this sleep pattern.

However, for my caming, my shift is 8PM-4AM. I wake up, get what I can done and then start working. It's basically the polar opposite of what my body naturally wants to do. It's a struggle on my body and I do get used to it fairly well but, if I had my choice, I'd definitely do my ideal shift.

Why don't I? I make way less tokens during my ideal time because my good regulars are on during the later shift. Therefore, I think it's very important as a cam model to be flexible enough to be match whatever time/schedule works for your best paying regulars. In a sea of ~24,000 girls on MFC, it's important to be there for the members that choose to frequent you. Of course, to find these regulars, you need to try different shifts and even better to do camathons, but yeah. It's also interesting to note, too, that my later shift has a room count that is significantly lower than my ideal shift. It goes to show that a high room count is not equivalent to more tipping. Anyway! This is what I did/do and I believe it to be a big key in my own success. Best of luck ^_^

It totally depends on your lifestyle and priorities - I believe you can build up a following at any time slot, so it's smarter to build one that you prefer. For you @Miqote that is one where you find the most tippers/regs, for me it was what worked best with my natural schedule and social life/school schedule. If you are full-time camming with fewer outside commitments, you can be a bit more flexible in catering yourself to your shift rather than the other way around.

Every model will have different priorities and goals, I think for OP just consider what those are! Personally my 5am shifts were much more successful token-wise and I was scared to switch to evenings, but after a few weeks I'd made awesome new friends and settled into a much healthier routine for me. It's all relative though and I wish you good luck!!

I know I might be in the minority but I don't have the models listing set up that way. I have 'New Models' to show at the top along with those on my 'Friend's List'.

What I have noticed though, is that most of the models I'd like frequent all start around 8pm EST. Even those models based in Europe. Why? It seems that is the time when it's busiest in terms of prem member traffic.

In regards to what to do, I can only suggest that interacting with your room, having achievable goals in your topic is the way forward. The amount of rooms I have visited out of curiosity and then left because the model is just sitting there doing nothing is surprisingly high!

I put in my room topic that they could add me for 50tkns for a PM but it kinda sucks because I want people to add me because I want to be at the top of their page.. but it got people talking and I got tipped more based on my calculations so I guess the trade off is worth it and people even requested me for the tokens

Not sure if you're talking about MFC, but if so, people can add you to their friend list without you adding them to yours. So, don't charge them to add YOU, charge them for you to add THEM, thus allowing their PM to come through (if you have it set to "friends only").

Oh that's good to know! I do charge them for me to add them so that they have the ability to PM me if they want to. Seems to be working Thanks for the clarity because that's very good to know. Do I get notified when they add me?

As far as I know you do not. Friend adds from the member side are sort of a convince for us, to allow us to sort you into our main page display.
