Hey guys, so I'm a fairly new webcam girl... and I like it so far. However, I've had a guy here and there tell me he can email me an Amazon giftcard upfront instead of tipping (Which, honestly, an Amazon giftcard is a lot more than what an individual guy will usually tip) ... However, is this a scam? Should I trust them?

Also... I've shied away from making an Amazon wishlist because those usually have your real name... and even the city in which you live in.

So... is sending an amazon giftcard legit? And also, if I wanted to make a wishlist... how would I make it safer for myself?

Thank you ladies! :)

Um, I thought you were thinking of becoming a faceless cam girl?

SO I guess you took the plunge, eh?

I personally wouln't accept amazon giftcards for anything other than gifts.
They aren't tokens, so they don't help your camscore, and really in the long run what good is money that you can only spend in one place? New things are nice, but you can't put them in your savings account and you can't pay your rent with them.

If you DO decide you want to accept giftcards or presents for shows, ask yourself; "Is this a case of him paying less (than he would for tokens) and me receiving the same monetary value"? And decide if you are okay with that. If the member is paying less and you're not getting the long-term benefits to your camscore & real money on your paycheck it seems an awful lot like you're taking the hit to do them a favour.

I also wouldn't do anything until the item is physically in your possession, amazon purchases can be charged back. Not sure about the giftcards though. If you are in a bad position and HAVE TO DO THIS in order to get shows, GiftRocket is a much better option. Its fairly secure, and you can cash out actual money to a bank account. Both parties info is kept private aside from email. Obviously never use Paypal. If the member isn't willing to work with you to use a more secure, harder to chargeback option, run in the other direction.

There is a lot of discussion on this in the models only section of the forum (and I think outside too), you should get approved and do some searching.

Thank you for taking the time to create a real and informative reply Jess! However, I do believe this is some sort of bot or troll or something, so I won't be approving them for model status at any time. :D
