No dick pic senders on ACF? I'm disappointed in you perverts. I was hoping to get some insight on this reoccurring phenomenon. 
Call me boring, call me a prude but I'm not into sending dick pics even when jokingly asked for them. Don't get me wrong, I love my dick, thing is awesome, but taking and sending pics of it just isn't something that ever appealed to or excited me.

I have sent dick pics to ladies but only after they have asked me for one. I would never send one just to send one. I have heard too many girls complain about dick picks to want to be "that guy". Plus, I know dicks aren't that attractive. Most ladies want to see one if they are really horny or something, but don't want to just look at it and admire it and say "Wow, what a beautiful penis." We discuss this in my room quite a bit. As a straight male, my only exposure to other men's penises has been through porn and that has gives a unique perspective to size. I never really bought into the whole "who has a bigger dick" competition crap since it's nothing you can really change and you should be proud of what you have, but I understand how a lot of people would feel inferior or curious when all they see is 9"-12" dicks, especially if theirs is smaller. They probably feel like there is something wrong with them, that they are less than everyone else, etc. There's really nothing wrong with doing research and gaining perspective in order to keep one's self-esteem in check; it doesn't really have anything to do with sexual orientation, it's more of a human curiosity and medical perspective thing in my opinion.

- validation
- the adrenaline rush of exposed vulnerability
- humiliation fetish
- misguided attempt at seduction
At the end of the day, any unsolicited, explicit sexual advance is harassment. Mistakes happen and that's okay, but it is what it is. It is a lot more lenient in our industry than... say... if someone whipped it out in the middle of the street... but it's still the same concept. Penises can be attractive to anyone who is attracted to them just as much as breasts or vulvas (medical terms, fuck yeah. That's "tits" or "pussies", for those who prefer colloquial terminology), it's just a matter of context and consent. I actually had a discussion last night about unsolicited female pictures and they can and do have the same effect as dick pics regardless of sex or sexual orientation.

May be anecdotal but I don't believe hetero males search for dicks more than lady bits. The only reason they might at all is to resend the images and pretend they're their own. I personally have never encountered a hetero male who's done any kind of search for penises. Somehow that "study" has to be flawed.

As they explain in the talk (I haven't gotten to that portion in the book). The search "Hot pussy" can just as easily refer to has girls as the vagina so there are limitations to the study. Nordling characterization of it as Pop Pyschology hardly does it justice. It is clear if you look at the longevity and fame of male porns stars, with the exceptions of James Deens, the Harry Reems, and Ron Jeremy etc. are famous pretty much exclusive because of their huge cocks.
I'll admit I was surprised to see the number of guys that send dick pics, although to me the more shocking number was the number of girls that anecdotally reported that have received dick pics as response to OKCupid profile, rather than anything to do with camming. I know woman in their 40s and 50s have gotten them too..
Still context is important. Megan has 37,000 tweeter followers if she gets 3 dick pics a week that 150 a year or less than 1 per 200 follower. Even the 5 per day of guys that have dick pick avatars is only about 5%. Way too many yes, but still the minority of guys send them.

Remember, mainstream psychology itself is not considered a "hard" science...so when a couple of neuroscientists decide to do a non-rigorous, unique "study," with no peer review and eschewing many scientific standards, "pop psychology" may be a compliment.
