I feel like this tweet sorta fits in this thread.
If I were to renegotiate on a deal I had made I would probably try and mitigate the fallout from it by offering an new deal for something else or give a refund, but where I live we have really strong consumer protection so this might be some cultural differences. Also if I buy a models Snapchat I wouldn't expect that it would entitle me to get to chat with the model on Snapchat. I have only bought Snapchat from two models and only chatted with one of them because she wrote to me first, so my views on this doesn't necessarily reflect the views of the average Snapchat buyer.I won't disagree it can be seen as "bad business" but sometimes getting flak for not honoring something like this is worth it, like in the case that Kate describes above.
Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.
Yeah that would be smart. If I were to renegotiate on a deal I had made I would probably try and mitigate the fallout from it by offering an new deal for something else or give a refund
The way that I (and many models that I've followed on Snap) run it, it gives a little more personal look into my off-cam time and can create a better connection to my actual life. So if it starts to seem someone is taking advantage of that, it can feel really shitty.I'm not really sure what is offered or expected from camgirls on there.
No I understand cam girls are not washing machines, because cam girls are very likely out dirty underwear to people.Yeah that would be smart.
At the end of the day, we are people with life happenings and with feelings, and sometimes protecting our feelings is the most important thing. It's a little different than dealing with a tangible product and needs to be considered as such. You buy a washing machine and purchase the warranty, but the warranty isn't honored? Fucked up and worthy of taking up complaint with the company.
We are not washing machines with a warranty.

Jokes aside I don't think people should sell stuff they are not going to be able to honor. "Snapchat Forever! Access to my Snap story with daily nude pictures and videos. Screenshots are okay and you can send me whatever pics/video you'd like in return. I've already had this account for several years. When I say FOREVER, I mean it. =D" This is what @AwesomeKate has in the description for Snapchat Forever on her MFC Share as I am posting this. At the very least the description is misleading and should be changed considering what she has written earlier in this thread. My point is that we members and models should be honest to the best of our ability when dealing with each other so we can keep this form of entertainment that camming is to continue to be something we members can enjoy and you models can make money off.
If members can't understand that YOUR baby comes first they shouldn't be on your snapchat. Motherhood is hard especially with a newborn- I understand "forever" but I mean life happens, shit happens. You are not a robot so who cares if they get pissed? if a member cannot understand you have a life to take care of then they honestly are a terrible terrible person. Maybe re word It in your "forever" that you are expecting a life and members should understand that you now have a baby to take care of.. If they can't handle that = DELETE them.
Thats my 2 cents.
To late for me to edit..
This is why I will NEVER be on MFC members are absolutely disgusting. It's crazy to me these replies from dudes.. Thank gosh for Streammate.
What does everyone think about models who sell their Snapchat as 'Forever' and then delete people who don't continue to tip? What if she deleted you off of it because you hadn't tipped her in 6 months? One year? Two? Does it make a difference in how long it's been, in your opinion, or is it all equally bad business?
Well a handful of people keep saying to honor the original deal. Which means they don't want to take the models reasoning into consideration. Some confusion seems to be going on here but I can't really see members or any sane individuals arguing otherwise. Obviously the kid comes first, that isn't really up for debate or what is being questioned here.
Which means they don't want to take the models reasoning into consideration.
When it comes to bad business practices... This is a tough one. Because that means you have to weigh two opposite factors and decide which is better for your business. From what you are saying, the people whom you wish to revoke but haven't yet - they are starting to affect your business already. You don't want to log in to SC and post things that might be more private, which makes it hard to post at all, which means everyone would be getting less snaps as a whole. Which is better for your business? Giving your loyal customers a better experience by posting more snaps, while enjoying the experience a lot more? Or honoring the promises made five years ago and dreading the use of SC, which means you avoid it entirely and everyone suffers? All for the sake of people who haven't supported or tipped you in aaaaages. It might be obvious which way I'd lean, but I'd think the loyal customers (and your own sake!) are more important than the people who haven't paid you in years. Sometimes, you can't please everyone - and trying to is going to make everyone enjoy it less. Sometimes, the best business practice you can do is to make a hard decision that will help you in the long run. Sometimes, cutting off a few current freeloaders can help give the better experience to everyone else, who actually supports your work, y'know?
Now, with that said... Do I think you should just go ahead and delete everyone who hasn't paid? Nope. The others are right - if you are going to make the decision, then there are more gracious ways to go about it. It may be easier to give everyone a month or two of warning and say something like, "Hey, my dudes. Next month, my current Lifetime Snapchat will be retiring and my new Premium Snapchat will be starting! It's almost exactly the same as the last one - except this will be reserved for my active and loyal followers! If you've tipped in the last X months, you're already going to be grandfathered in! All I ask is that you keep participating in my room! If someone disappears for X months, they'll risk being removed and have to purchase the snapchat again. But as long as you participate in my room, the SC is yours to enjoy! The new changes will start next month, so if you don't feel like buying a new subscription, no worries! Enjoy all of the delicious snaps until then!"

I am just saying don't promise stuff that you don't know if you will be able to deliver on in the first place, if people would do that situations like this wouldn't happen. It would also be helpful for members to recognize that models are only humans with circumstances that may change.
Five years is a long time, especially in the cam world. It would have been impossible for her to predict that five years down the line not only would she still be camming, but that she would also need to be juggling being a new mother, live camming, and a snapchat subscription. It is totally unfair, unreasonable, and actually quite gross to not give her room to renegotiate her boundaries with such a big life change.
There are varying degrees on how shitty something like this is. A model starting a "snapchat forever" deal and then backing out of it 3 months later because she doesn't like it= pretty shitty. A model running a "snapchat forever" deal and making good on it for FIVE YEARS and then feeling the need to revisit the terms of it because she's literally creating a new life= not shitty at all.
A very well written and well thought out post, one of the best I have read on any forum.I have a lot of random feelings & thoughts about this, so I apologize ahead of time if it comes out all rambly! I'm drinking morning coffee now, so sorting sleepy thoughts into words isn't the easiest! Also, if you see a ton of grammatical errors, just squint and pretend they aren't there, please!
I think one of the most important things to remember here is that most Snapchats sell intimacy. Intimacy in the form of getting a private look at a model's life, and even mooooore popular, intimacy in the form of sexualized/nude chats. The thing about sexuality is that consent can be revoked at any time, at any reason. This is true if a woman says she wants to have sex with a dude, starts making out, and changes her mind. This is true if a fssw gets paid by a client who gets too rough, and she feels it is safer to book it. This is the same if a cammodel gets paid for a show, and within two minutes, the customer starts pushing her boundaries and she cancels the show. Models are consenting to share their bodies with their members on a platform, and even though money changes hands, that does not mean them model loses her right to revoke her consent, should she choose to do so.
A customer's right to get their promised honored is NOT more important than the model's right to withdraw her consent at any time, ESPECIALLY when she feels like she is being taken advantage of. And it is also the customer's right not to continue supporting said model or never tipping her again. A customer has the right to make that decision for any reason. That's the awesome thing about consent, man. Models can revoke access to their bodies for any reason, members can revoke access to their tokens for any reason. You gotta do what is best for you, member or model.

Offering to grandfather in people who have tipped X amount or just tipped at all in the last X months is a really good way to smooth any ruffled feathers of people who have still been active or active-ish. You can even offer a special discount for anyone who has paid ever. Like... Grandfather in anyone who bought SC in the past six months (but their Active Countdown starts then, and if they continue ghosting for the next X amount of months, delete them without worries), and offer like a 50% discount for everyone else. Then it's their choice whether to continue or not. This way, you're still cutting them a break and making it easier for them to join, while still giving everyone time to get used to the idea and get their money's worth, even should they decide not to renew. But more importantly, you're still doing what is best for you. But regardless, change your SC terms and conditions like immediately after you figure them out!
Honestly, you've given five years of almost daily content, I'm assuming. That's wild. Anyone who has bought your SC in the past month has probably gotten more than their money's worth! Anyone who has been enjoying your content for YEARS has definitely done so. If someone spent $20 five years ago, they've gotten 1,825 days worth of snaps. Even if you only snapped once a day (but most models seem to snap between 3-20 snaps a day).... They've definitely gotten $20 worth of content.
I don't think honoring an old promise to people who no longer support you is worth ruining your experience, both for yourself and for the loyal followers who do support your work. If these people are already affecting your ability to give the best content to your loyal supporters, then let 'em go. I think it's better business practice to put your supporters (and you) first. Change the way you run your SC in the future, give some discounts to those who already paid, and let yourself evolve! But definitely be clear about your expectations and terms going forward! But that's the cool thing about camming. It's all an evolution. When things don't work out, we switch things up. We try new things. We learn more efficient ways. We don't have to stick with anything broken or make ourselves miserable just to make a few current non-supportive members happy!
I think AwesomKate came up with a good solution, but I think models shouldn't offer forever or lifetime Snapchat. I agree some member are not good with boundaries. I think I am pretty good with them, but you will probably have to ask around and get more opinions on that.Except for the members who got into her Snapchat 1 or 2 months ago, fuck refunds. They have enjoyed her Snaps.. 5 years is not forever but it's pretty damn close. That's like asking for a refund on a half eaten hamburger. Just no.
I am sure she will rephrase her MFC Share offer when she comes to a decision on what to do about her Snapchat subscriptions. It would be silly to change it prematurely. That said... we are people. Our circumstances change, we change our minds about things all the time. I think if you paid $20 or $50 or even $100 for daily snaps and you have enjoyed this for one year or more, you got more than your money's worth of content. Some models sell their videos for 1000 tokens and that's 1 video.
MFC members can be the worst when it comes to boundaries. They have no concept of boundaries, react poorly to them and feel entitled to your entire being and life for pocket change.
Any theories as to why MFC members seem to expect too much or have problems with boundaries in comparison to Chaturbate members? Simply the free in the name or maybe the atmosphere of the rooms? I get why it isn't a problem at Streamate, the chance of the problems arising aren't really there or as likely, but what is seemingly making Chaturbate members more respectful or easier to deal with?
I can write a 40,000 word paper on that but its probably more suited for Model’s Only.
It's a testament to how different this industry operates that nearly all the Companies (Cam girls) are saying that rescinding a deal is fine and understandable. If Target started a loyalty program and then canceled people's supposed Lifetime memberships, I think Walmart wouldn't hesitate to name and shame them publically. Just interesting how this industry doesn't behave the way you'd expect it to, especially with so much financial incentive to do so? I have only noticed two top models who frequently shame other models' practices on their platform in order to garner support from members.
Got it and wouldn't ask or want any to say things they aren't comfortable saying in public. Plus like, while curious and I'm sure it would be interesting to read, I'd want the abridged version.
If you buy a product that comes with a "Lifetime Warranty" and read the fine print you will see that the warranty applies for "the lifetime of the product"... typically 2-5 years.I wonder sometimes whose lifetime the term is referring to. Is it mine? Hers?
