Gas leaks in two different buildings found just a bit ago. The entire campus has been evacuated and all power shut down.

Oh, and the second building just happens to be right next to the building with the nuclear reactor in the basement.

And just like that they give the all clear, the school is open. Now i have to head back to campus with all my hopes of this afternoon's class being cancelled cast upon the breakers. :crybaby:

Kids in my high school stopped getting people to call in bomb threats after the school threatened to make us keep working outside.

Just done quite possibly my biggest presentation yet, or at least my one to the most powerful people I know.

A Chief executive and 14 other directors. Given them a report that my team has been working on after scrutinising internal processes from an external view for the last 9 months. There's another guy doing a similar report, from the 2nd group of us. I spoke for 15mins, without any form of notes at all, and covered everything in the report. Got a round of applause after finishing, which was odd seeing as I wasn't overly confident with having them onside as my findings were quite critical.

On a pretty big high right now.

They still had pay phones when I was in school, I remember hearing some seniors had been paying a homeless man to call in for them.

Can someone tell my what sort of US accent this is at the very beginning of this video (Like, the first 5 seconds...Intro Guy)

The talk is very good by the way. If you are into such things.

It's not a real thick accent. My best guess is he grew up 'near' the New England states. I sense just the tiniest hint of Massachusetts in there. Not exactly sure though.

Thank you thank you!!!! I will go off and try to try some other audio reference of that sort of accent.
The only reason I am asking is because, honestly, it has to be THE most irritating accent ever! I have a stack of audio books (American Gods is one) where the reader has this accent. It just ruins it for me.

Sorry to offend all those millions of people with this accent. But hey, I'm a Queenslander and no one likes the way we speak either! eh

It's not a regional accent. It's more the American version of BBC Standard.

First time in years of going back to college I got full loans and grant coverage right away from federal and state stuff. Don't have to take out third party loans for the next school year.

Love the warm weather but not so happy with the swamp that is our yard and long driveway. Parking spots are limited too unless we want our van to sink into the mud. We need more gravel.

So, I have mentioned before that I don't really sleep much. That usually leads me to messing around on the Internet at all hours. One thing I like to do is look at people's Tumblr pages. I decided to create my own Tumblr for the sole purpose of following people I like and viewing them all on my dashboard instead of having to go from account to account. So, I did that. I created an account and all I do is follow people. I have never once posted anything to my actual Tumblr page. It just sits as plain as the day I created it. This last month, 2 people have started following me on Tumblr. WTF is that about?
