Speaking of Shark movies, I remember watching this gem- Raging Sharks with a hippie Parker Lewis, oh Parker Lewis remember when you couldn't lose? The same shark footage was used multiple times and were clearly from documentaries and some of the footage didn't even make sense for the scene taking place. Oh and there's aliens.

Making fun of bad movies (especially over a bottle of wine) is my favorite activity, ever. I am furiously taking notes from this thread for things to watch, lol! I wanted to watch Filthy McNasty again, but the last time I checked they had taken it off of streaming for netflix. :(

But my contribution is Sharks in Venice. Starring a dad-torsoed Stephen "Dead Eyes" Baldwin as the only man that can save Venice from sharks that are terrorizing the canals, this is a classic. And OH PLOT TWIST OF PLOT TWISTS, the sharks are there to protect ancient treasure! Complete with bad green screens and tons of stock footage.

Dear God, tell me that was a Sy-fy movie.

worst movie i ever saw in my life was some movie from the 50's called "Billy the Kid verse Dracula" and it was as bad as it sounds... the worst recent-ish movie was "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace"... I'm not a huge star wars fan, but i do enjoy the original 3, and was excited enough to see it i snuck out of work early to catch it

the whole movie was a failure in my opinion.... i mean Darth Vader was an ultimate bad ass... so starting him off as a well balance, happy, super genius, slave child really annoyed me (plus i hated the kid that played him)... and having him build C3-PO was utter bullshit... and i didn't see any sense in explaining the force as some parasite type creature that lived in their blood... the whole jarjar bix nonsense was the least of what was wrong in that flick in my opinion

Know what's fun? Watching Japanese movies with friends and looking at their face when I recognize one of the voice actor's doing the dubbing is little Annie Skywalker and pointing it out to them.

I really wanted to like Wristcutters: A Love Story, but it was a major disappointment. I couldn't get through it because halfway into it, I still felt like I was waiting for the movie to actually start.
I love Wristcutters, I think I've watched at least 3 times. But I love indie flicks.
I've recommended it to friends who looked at me like I was crazy after the first 10 minutes.

Worst movie I've seen:
Antichrist- It made me want to puke.

I wasn't too fond of SuckerPunch either. I love watching hot chicks kick ass, don't get me wrong. But the story line was just kinda "WTF is going on here". Granted I haven't watched the whole thing, so feel free to tell me why it's worth another try.

I hated Suckerpunch, the only thing I enjoyed from that movie at all was Bjork's song on the soundtrack.

The 41-Year-Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It

Defiantly the worst movie I've ever watched.

I've seen Antichrist and it creeped me out more than any other movie I have EVER seen. I'm a horror movie junkie so that says a lot.

My contribution is Troll 2. I laughed my ass off the entire time at the shit storm that this movie was.

Plan 9 from Outer Space....a movie that's such a failure by any measure that it's become a classic....it's writer/director was a prolific sob tho, and Tim Burton's movie Ed Wood has immortalized the poor guy.

The Traveler starring Val Kilmer is one of the dumbest movies I've seen in a while. Poor Val, he's not cool anymore.

The Happening another by M. Night. Worst movie evaaaar! I went to see it in the theater and for the first 30 - 40 minutes I thought it had to be a joke. I mean....just....terrible. I walked out after a guy offered his arm to a lion to be ripped off. I still think M. Night was fucking with me, it just feels like its terrible on purpose.

This. The only movie in recent memory that I never finished. Some of his other movies have been pretty bad, but the acting was at least tolerable. This one did not have even that going for it.

This seems to be more a "movies that were so bad they pissed me off" thread rather than what's the absolute worst movie thread. In that spirit, I offer 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Kubrick apparently only made two types of movies: brilliant ones and awful ones. This was one of the latter. Overly blunt symbolism in painful slow motion. I'm not exactly sure how long that monkey took to use the bone, but it seemed like about a decade.

Eyes Wide Shut was also dreadful. Even a nude Nicole Kidman couldn't save it.

By the way, I disagree that a movie should be seen before reading the book it came from. Since the book is almost always better (or at least more detailed), I don't want to spoil the book with the movie, so I always try to read the book first. If the movie is disappointing after the book, I've only wasted about two hours. If I know most of the story from the movie, I spoil several hours of enjoying the book. Also, if I've already seen the movie, I can't use my imagination as well when reading the book because the pictures have already been placed in my mind for me.

Bubba Ho-Tep

I was told this movie is so bad it's funny. It was amusing, but nothing more.

Elvis and JFK, both alive and in nursing homes, fight for the souls of their fellow residents as they battle an ancient Egyptian Mummy.

This gives the impression that Elvis and JFK are in separate nursing homes, but they are really in the same one. Also, the "ancient Egyptian Mummy" is wearing wild-western type clothes.

Yup, it's that bad.

I still want a sequel to this movie.

 But... what... why... no, no, no, no, no, no, no... no ..... why, Luna, why? Why would you say such things? :icon-cry:

:?

But seriously, Bubba Ho-Tep is one of my favourite films ever! :-D On its surface, it is ridiculous, but... you strip away the absurd plot and cheap effects and what you're left with is a fantastically written, brilliantly acted, funny, sad, quietly affecting and kind of beautiful tale about two old guys going down swinging. It's such a well-crafted script, deftly touching on subjects as far-reaching as death, old age, abandonment, legacies, friendship, and a dozen other things (and doing so intelligently); all while unfurling one of the most absurd plots in movie history.
Plus, Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis are amazing in it. I'd argue it's Campbell's best performance ever and Ossie Davis is just a fucking legend. And the score... my god, the score... I fucking love the score :-D

Ben & Arthur. It's SO bad it's hilarious.
Here's a synopsis.

It took me 2 days to get through this MUTT of a film and in the end I can't remember anything of it.

It was just bad..not funny bad...just. plain. BAD.

Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Killer

(F*** ME some one owes me some time back)

BIRDEMIC: Shock and Terror

I'm not sure what's worse--the acting, the CGI birds, or the long winded rants. Try to at least watch the first few minutes to see how poorly it was filmed.

OMIGOD...that ...was ...completely ...EXCRUCIATING!
LOVED IT!!!

IT went beyond the whole terrible genre and went to a place that...omigod when the birds show up I was crying with laughter.
Bad Editing (epic level) Bad Acting(epic face/palm) FX (catastrophe!)...maybe it wasn't the worst thing in the universe...but DAMN it wasn't good!

Oh god that was tasty

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THAT BluexDakota...I am still laughing/retching...(though tears) I got to find if these cats made more films...I want to nominate them for something, anything...maybe just for having the balls to push that baby out into the world.

I adored Wristcutters, one of my favorites, but I always enjoy a good slow paced film, they're relaxing.

My contribution is ......Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar movie.
Whoever decided these idiots were funny and gave them a movie deal should be taken out and shot, in my opinion.
Usually a comedy movie I don't like overall can still make me giggle here and there. It is NOT hard to make me laugh.
Not this one, I just wanted to throw up on it.
