As a pretty girl, I just want to look at other pretty girls! Is there a disadvantage to allowing other models in your room?

it's been said that sometimes it takes attn away from the model who's room you're in and that visiting models try to poach tipping members

Gotcha. Guess I'll just have to make a separate account for viewing then. Thanks!

And there is actual poaching going on, too. Models and sockpuppets going into other models' rooms in order to try to get viewers. I've been in rooms where active poaching has gone on, and I've been messaged by models looking to draw me away from rooms I'm already in. The only way they would know I even exist is by seeing it listed in a model's room. This behavior is not a comfortable situation for members, and it's not the most scrupulous business practice.

I like your Starfleet tattoo. Now, get yourself verified and hang out!

Yes indeed! It is common practice for models to make a perv account for viewing other ladies so they can be discreet. When you come in and you are obviously another model it can be really distracting not only for the model but for the viewers. We have a bunch of threads in Model's Only about this and an especially awesome one all about how to be a polite perv to other models!

It seems to be fairly common for many models to have their rooms open to models at first and have a great time, but then some lame models come along and kind of ruin it. In many cases, models end up just blocking other model accounts. This has personally happened to me and while I was sad to do it at first, I think that it has improved my show and taken away that opportunity for distraction and worry.

Many girls open their room up to other models on special occasions or if they have raffles or events involving other girls, so that is really fun! It really does seem to be consistently better for everyone when other models have a perv account to visit on, perhaps it is just a different mindset? Either way, I have not experienced the same sort of problems after blocking models and it is easier than having an altercation with another model who does not have the same awesome community spirit that we have on ACF.

Welcome to the forum!

I have a seperate account for viewing as well, I have a few faves that I love looking in at just to see what crazy and amazing antics they're up to.

I've had my room open to models for a year now, and it mostly goes okay. Occasionally I'll get a PM from a member informing me that 'sexxxypussyxoxo123' has been messaging other members in my room, and then I'll ban 'em, but so far it hasn't been much of a problem.

Can't even recount the number of times I've been pm'd by a 200-300 camscore model in another models room with the infamous 'hi bb r u horny? :kiss' message. Most (I know, not all) models that go into another models room fall under this category. And it's extremely rude.

That's why majority of the models I know that like to 'spy' in on their fellow mfc model crush register a separate, discrete premium account just for that purpose, and to tip them.

The majority of models who come into my room are there to poach members and insult me. :( I had one nice lady once asking some questions about camming and I directed her here.

Otherwise, I like when girls visit on their premium accounts! I think it's more respectful, especially if you don't know the model very well.

Also, if I'm going watch another model for any length of time, I usually try to tip at least a few tokens. I think it's mostly polite to do so, I mean you may not be perving but you're watching for a reason and if we expect dudes to tip for that, we should do the same! I can never tip much but I try to tip at least a few!

i like models (well some models) and I had it open for a while but this lead to a lot of disrespectful models coming and disrupting the flow of my room. I'm not scared they will steal members, but my members get annoyed from all the pms they get, and annoyance is not one of the things I promote in my room.
I want things to be as drama free as possible and blocking models has helped.

If you are going to act as a premium, get a premium account!

~Aside from the obvious poaching, which others have mentioned

Its also really annoying when a premium comes in with a pink name and is all like "OMG EVERYBODY IM A GIIIIIIIRRRLL" Basically, anyone who draws attention to themselves instead of a model is a twat. If you want to tell the model who you are, let her know in a private tip note.

One time I was in a room where I'm a regular and I made a joke about me being a girl (the model and the other regulars obviously know me and understood that it was just a joke). Hoo boy. The creeps were on me like piranhas. I must have gotten a dozen creepy PM's in the space of a minute. Lesson learned. Never renounce your wiener, even in jest.

Or the ever so classic troll account with the pink font and SEXYBiGirl4u screenname. Then 5 stolen pictures of a well known Japanese a/v actress. And STILL she'll have 1,000+ 5 star ratings, and her wall will be plastered with myspace glitter graphics and comments asking if she enjoys anal.

my name is takuy, I have a bright pink font, and everyone thinks I'm a girl.

awkward.

I always get PMs from guys asking me to turn on their cam, they won't even tip me for it. :hand:

Yep they summed it up, it's mostly the poaching and insult issues. I actually didn't know about this feature when I first started and a premium member helped me out via PM on how to use the software, blocking, banning etc (although it took the awesome LilyMarie to show my the 60day ban, seriously still eternally grateful!!!).

However, there was a glitch a few weeks ago where models were still coming into my room. Fortunately the only model who took advantage was Megasmic and she was awesome in my room. She politely PMed me and let me know who she was after I asked a couple of times in my room why this Megasmic person was so silent. However, when I first started, the members in my room were getting bombarded with PMs trying to poach them which was killing their joy of playing the game I had going on.

I love my perv account though, just waiting for my pay to come through now that bills are paid so I can come perv a few of the lovely ladies and send some loves.

I have one lady who is ALWAYS in my room chatting people up. But the second I go to ban her, she's gone and I can't remember the number combo of her name.

wouldn't one of the guys have it in their pm archives and be able to send it to you?

*Sadly, some cam girls will advertise themselves in other models' rooms, and try to "steal" the models' tippers. :naughty:

*When other members realize there's a second model in the room, it can sometimes take the attention away from the main model, and make things a little uncomfortable. Some members don't know how to act when there are two models in a room.

It's better for you to watch another model under your premium account anyway, if you have one...or watch other models in guest or basic mode. If you're using your premium account and want her to know that you're a model too, you can tip her and include a tip note (that the room can't see) that says "Hey, I'm model _____ on here." :)

You could argue model accounts in your room are worse than guests and basics. They can not tip, so technically freeloading. Just showing up on your room list could be considered advertising/poaching even if they do not say anything. At least with guests and basics there is no chance a member will click on their name and decide to go to their room.

After writing this I am thinking I might have a valid point and wasn't just joking.

The flip side to that is seeing a nice friendly interaction between models shows them to be more genuinely nice people and endear them to their regulars even more, thus improving with long term tipping.

That would be Maya19fun.

Ah, good ol' Maya19fun. That girl gets around.

To be honest I thought it was Maya18sexy, so thank you rex. I can now ban her!

This is a bit tangential but, seeing as how it has been brought up several times throughout the thread, seems relevant.

All those complaining about getting unwanted PMs, why? Easy fix. Set PMs to friends only.

I don't expect models to have PMs open, so why should members have them open?

Anyway, carry on, just my $0.02.

Some of my favorite models allow models in their rooms. Most of the visiting models fall into two categories: fangirls who have crushes on the models they're visiting, and eastern european models who just sit there and never say a single word. (And as far as I can tell usually aren't poaching customers … I think they're just bored and want something different to watch.)

In my first few months I did get random PMs from models sometimes, but they weren't generally models who were in the rooms I was visiting. They were just completely random. After a very short amount of time I switched my PMs to friends-only and was much happier. :)

I tend to keep any model whose room I visit more than a few times on my friends list (until I've gone a few weeks without visiting their rooms, at which point I tend to drop them) and I tend to put all the regulars in my favorite models' rooms on my friends list (and rarely drop them at all). So anyone I want to talk to me can. And yes, this means I have at least 10 times more member friends than model friends. I tend to do more PMing with them anyway.

There's another model-in-another-model's-room issue that hasn't been brought up.

The ones who sit there begging for you.
"OMG, guys, tip her, she's doing such a great show, blah blah blah".
Unless you're saying this while tipping as a premium, it's annoying. If it's another model, she can't tip, so it's super annoying.
