I've found that the VHS Vault on the Internet Archive is a good source for old movies taped off television. If you don't mind an edited cut and old US cable commercials, here's an old TBS Superstation movie night broadcast.

I love when old recordings include the commercials and local news bumpers. It lends context to the video, about what was happening around the time it aired.

These days, we get used to watching older content by itself, in a vacuum, which is also enjoyable. But I find it interesting to be reminded of the environment that recording existed in, originally. What people were thinking about, the trends, the fashions, the hot new products, and so on.

Why Women Kill.
A dark comedy series from the creator of Desperate Housewives. Edge of the seat twists and turns. Lots of WTF plot twists. Very funny dark humor
On Hulu 10/10

I watched Season 1 of The Night Agent on Netflix.
Had it on my watch list for a while but decided to catch it now because new episodes were released here in Australia a couple of days ago.
Really enjoyed it, pretty straightforward White House conspiracy plot but nicely done.

I watched Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. I think the popular opinion about it is that it's good, but not as good as Fury Road, and I get that. Fury Road seems to be established as George Miller's magnum opus. Still, I think I like Furiosa better. While I appreciate the Mad Max movies that have a simple narrative and focus more on the action, like Fury Road and Road Warrior, I really have a soft spot for the movies that add to the interesting characters, setting, and lore, like Furiosa and Beyond Thunderdome. Also, one especially cool thing about Furiosa is that it proves there's room for stories where a Mad Max isn't the central character. I guess we'll have to hope George Miller will live forever, or maybe be able to pass the torch to folks who will get it right.

Anyway, I'm now on a big post-apocalyptic kick. I'm going to rewatch all the Mad Max movies.

I can't figure out if spy thrillers are flooding the streaming services or if I've just already watched all the good tv and all that remains is spy thrillers :giggle:
I wondered the same thing recently, although it was romantic comedies appearing in my suggestions..... ugh.
Realised that was because a friend house-sat for me for a month and used my Netflix account.
Gonna take ages to re-train those algorithms :yuck:

Sometimes those streaming site algorithms read way too much into your choices.

I might check out a thriller on occasion. It doesn’t mean that’s the only genre I ever want to watch again, until the end of time.

I've been enjoying Season 1 of Rogue Heroes, telling the story of how the British SAS was formed in North Africa in 1941.
It's a BBC production but for any Aussies here, it's streaming free on SBS On Demand.
Typical British humour and a great soundtrack too 🥳

I am truly way behind the times, I never watched The Blacklist so just finished S1 and watched 3 episodes of S2 so far.
I don't know how I never watched this before. But I am really enjoying it - even though Liz is the dumbest FBI agent I have ever witnessed.. How she is a profiler, I really don't understand haha
