I have been thinking about this a lot over the last day or two. Not just because of this thread either.
I am honestly more afraid of the backlash from some of the models on this forum than I am of the members. If I ever steer away from posting on a subject it is almost always because I don't want to start shit with another model.

Most members responses to a debate are well worded (sometimes only at first) and not full of personal attacks, just opinions. However, emotions seem to get involved a lot more when a model is involved in a debate.

I honestly find myself wondering sometimes, how do some of the girls here have tough enough skin to cam when they can't even handle differing opinions on child rearing?

This forum is awesome and I am glad I have met so many members and models here that I would consider MFC friends. Most of them have never even been in my room!

I'm not saying it's only on us girls but I do think a good portion of the drama on the forum has been caused by extremely over sensitive ladies ( love you all, please don't shoot! )

I have one forum rule for myself that I try and stick by... If the subject makes my heart race while writing a response I ought not hit submit.

I'm going to have to back PlayboyMegan and Alex on this one. I've noticed quite a few extra posts lately that are pretty hateful that have made me consider taking a break from this forum. I have nothing against Amber and feel that she can (and has a right) to run this forum however she wishes. Like in real life though, where the dicks go unpatrolled I will not participate. It's bad behavior and just don't want to subject myself to it. Amber can't catch all of the bad behavior on this forum though and that's not her fault. To do my part though I'm just going to refuse to have anything to do with those members who continually spew this nonsense. It doesn't contribute to anything so I don't need to contribute back. *sticks her fingers in her ears* "Lalalala, I can't hear you stupid trolls! lalalalalalala!!!"

Oh yes. Models should be held accountable just as much as members.

@JoleneJolene I go by a similar rule about how to decide if I should make a post somewhere. It's what I use to keep from getting offended or getting into an unneeded debate that would just stir up more debate.
@PlayboyMegan It's bad on both sides and why I've had to keep my recent extremely good news to myself when I really wanted to share it. Several models have proven to be catty and vindictive (several members too) so I can't trust that sharing that information publicly is safe.

If only common courtesy and common sense weren't myths. :/

What JJ said.

I held off posting anything in here because I'm wary of some peoples reactions and didn't want to start shit. I was as careful with my words as I could be and still expected a bad reaction.

FYI Alex, I got a bunch of supportive pms during your timeout too.

Hate to point out that the world doesn't revolve around you again Jeppaz, but those PM's/messages had nothing to do with you and were all about the condition of the forum and how they didn't like posting in the public area, as well as the reasons why.

I said this exact same thing to somebody this afternoon, and added "sometimes you gotta cluck, and sometimes you gotta be a duck"

Yeah, there are assholes who post here sometimes. Yes there are people who go off in an insulting manner sometimes. Who cares? I never understood why people get so upset over something said by somebody they don't know and will never meet.

So, we all gather here together because we have a common interest. Maybe to learn a little bit about each other. Not everybody is going to agree all the time. Sometimes shit does happen. Live with it, deal with it. There are certain things on the forum you can do: flag the comment; PM the party and try to work it out; block them; etc.

It's been said that the forums are here for everybody. This might upset some people, but if you're scared to post because somebody you don't know might say something a little off-color (or a lot), what does that say about you? Why not make your post? If what you think is true does happen, that person or persons will become obvious to everybody in short order and they will be dealt with. If you "roll over" and do nothing, you automatically let them win.

Remember that I'm in the "think they know it all" group, so don't listen to me.

Oh you and your assumptions. I never for a second presumed you would get PMs about me, I haven't done anything to warrant people PMing about me.

The ones I recieved however did revolve around you, and how aggressive the majority of your posts seem to be toward anyone who does not immediately agree with you.

What do YOU think it says about someone???? I'm curious.

I find it funny that the person who has been the rudest to me on this forum is complaining in this thread. To everyone else though ACF is one of the nicest most troll free places I have ever been. Every other forum I ever go to can not go a full page before it descends into a hellish pit of wharrgarblers and trolls ass fucking each other and other people yelling at them to stop.

This is exactly my point. Why would anyone care what someone thinks...especially someone who has never met you and can't possibly know you well enough to make a judgement.

IMO, the forum belongs to all the members. The only way for it to improve is to have everyone participate (in a positive way). If you are holding back for some reason, you're not helping. If you believe that there is too much negativity, then take the initiative. I'm not suggesting an "Occupy ACF" movement, but take it back by flooding the forum with positive, relevant, thoughtful posts. Maybe I'm being foolish, but if there were more positive posts (positive criticisms included), the dipshits might find they are not getting the reaction they want. Also don't forget your Internet 101: don't feed the trolls.

On another note: I could be way off base, but the non-posting models are wasting a golden opportunity. Here you have a captive audience of guys (some who HAVE MONEY) who want to know more about you, and instead of showing that you really are a strong, positive woman who deserves their attention (and money), you go into shutdown mode. Boggles my mind.

I already said I asked the question because I was curious. If no one gave a fuck about anyone's opinions, we wouldn't have any new threads started with new questions.

I wholeheartedly agree with ya man  ..

(of course I reserve my opinions about that useless poster I ripped on a couple of threads back, face it, i said what everyone else was thinking about that beggar , but I like ACF and seemingly get along with everyone)

LOL chill out everyone.

It's not so much being afraid what somebody will think about/say to me, but more of the fact that so many threads turn into drama like this one that stops me from posting a lot. Really, this thread is the perfect example of everything being discussed in it.

Let's just drop it and go look at titties.

:violence-duel: :violence-rapidfire: :violence-rambo: ... :violence-axechase: :violence-hammer:

All of this Model Vs Model Vs Member Vs Trolls is a bit over amped ....

It seems also one basic thing hasn't been mentioned, at least that I've seen.

~ SOME FOLKS JUST ENJOY ARGUING. ~

I have plenty of popcorn, carry on with the entertainment Y'all....  :eek:rcs-buttshake:

I think I got it right on Twitter today, though. :thumbleft:

I think that's taking things a little too seriously. All of us have things going on that, from time to time, make us decide that we can't afford to expend energy on this part of our lives or that. There are fights that are worth our time, and there are fights that are not. Sometimes we need to step back and let others take up the Banner of Truth while we sit back and watch how the universe gets along without our input.

As for this being Amber's forum: Every internet community has a vibe, or a "personality". There's no getting around that. 4chan has one, SA has one, and so does this place. Whenever I post, somewhere in the back of my head, I ask myself "What would Amber think of this?" That's not to say that I'll only post things I think Amber will like, and sometimes I post stuff I'm not sure she will care for, but it's still always a consideration. I like that. My guess is that a lot of the members of this forum have that in the back of their minds when they post. It gives the forum a focus, at least for those of us who have been through the "lurk moar" phase. It gives the forum a heart.

To paraphrase Dean Martin's tribute to Frank Sinatra: It's your world, Amber; we just live in it.

I feel like in every thread there is usually at least one hostile response. It's quite ridiculous and immature. Makes me feel like I have to walk on eggshells just so I don't receive such responses.

Post what you want and worry about backlash later. If a heated debate starts, just agree to disagree and move on. I think I've seen this exact situation somewhere else on ACF.

ETA: I've avoided a lot of hostility by adding people who I don't agree with to my Foes list, which makes their posts not show up unless I specifically click "Display this post". To do this, do the following:

1. click User Control Panel on the upper right corner of the screen
2. In your Control Panel, on the left side, click Friends and Foes.
3. Click Manage Foes.
4. Type a member's name in the Add New Foes* box. Click Submit.

*Please don't type ViruSphere in that box. :naughty:

You're done! Now any posts by that member/those members won't show up and will be replaced with "This post was made by (member's name) who is currently on your ignore list. Display this post." Clicking 'display this post' will make that individual post appear, but won't remove the member from your ignore list and all other posts by them will remain hidden.
