I don't like people talking about me in the 3rd person, and I will chastize them for it. I feel it objectifies me and is also just rude socially. I'm right there, talk to me directly! Don't try ignoring me in my own room!! Grrr. I remember when I was on MFC that used to be a thing members seemed to think was OK i.e. talking about a model in the 3rd person like she wasn't sitting right there. It comes across as tacky imo, or just plain cowardly i.e. you don't have the balls to talk to me direct. Unless you are purposefully trying to antagonize... by using 3rd person...

I also used to think "If they are here for each other then why the fuck don't they email each other direct, why are they even in my room?"

More often than not, once visitors are promoted to moderators, they feel destined to turn into carbon based rotating notifiers.

Often I see the other visitors keep talking not only to the broadcaster but also to each other, and I think that improves the mood in the room and it makes them return.

The most important topic is, of course, the broadcaster, which means that some people, when talking to each other, mention her, and in that case they refer to her in the 3rd person. I think that is ok as long as she is the center of the conversation and people keep addressing her directly as well.

My room is pretty social and people will often have conversations with each other that don't really include me. Thus, it doesn't bother me at all when they say "she" instead of "you". If the conversations go on for too long, then I'll just say something like "alright, guess no one wants to see me naked" or something like that. Ultimately, people should be there to see me, but having a supportive community is also important. I'm on a token site, btw, so that may make a difference.

I find talking about a model in third person on her public chat is kind of abusive. I'm not a native English speaker so I might get this wrong but things like

- "She is so hot"
- "She is the best"
- "She blablabla"

... seems to me like people talking about a piece of furniture.

I don't know about abusive, but definitely annoying. Unless they were already in the middle of a conversation with another member, I'd probably be like "She? I'm right here. Tell it to ME."

This made me think of that Seinfeld episode ("The Jimmy") where that dude Jimmy kept talking about himself in the third person, which resulted in some hilarious confusion for poor Elaine. I love that show.

You know, the funniest thing about these guys who offer this kind of money or more for Skype shows, is the fact of HOW MUCH they are offering.

Of course there's a very good chance he is just spinning BS in the hope of getting some sympathy, or as part of a fantasy.
But there could still be at least some truth to the story. Don't ask me how I know, but often in the prison system as you near your release date, they will grant increasing levels of privileges to prepare you for outside. This can include fewer restrictions on internet access etc. but a lot depends on classification/reason for being inside.
But I would suggest anyone who has just been released from prison is more likely to go and seek out physical company rather than through a camsite.

Sorry for DP, this one pissed me off; a person came into my free chat and started telling me they were a service member who just returned home from Afghanistan. Then tried telling me they were hurt in the bombing "2 weeks" ago. Damn dude, immediate block.

Trying to take advantage of that situation (which they were never in, that happened more like 1 week ago) to get free stuff from a cam model. The number of times guys have come in lying about being service members in the hopes of getting free shit... but this one just really was the worst! Grrr.

It's possible a person could have a head injury, and gotten time wrong. However I don't believe for a second that a true serviceman would bring it up, or even want to talk about it in a cam room, this close to the event!

At least I had the privilege of having some stellar people in my room tonight too!
