This shit is so confusing, and I can't for the life of me understand who designed this site. First of all if you have to choose between content type, but if you're a straight male making solo content it's not entirely clear which category to choose. And on top of that your content won't show up on MV Gay Boys (despite what support told me months ago), and you can't access that section through the site. I have to open a private tab and do a google search for it....

I agree, it was better when they first allowed guys onto the platform, where MV Boys was solo / male/male content and b/g content had to be listed under producer, it made the site a lot easier for people to find what they were looking for, since MV Straight and MV Gay are sub categories of MV Boys and didnt originally exist, for a large part if a guy is looking for solo male content then unless you are playing up the fact that you are straight in the video they dont care as long as they get to see what they want so having separate categories for gay and straight really dosnt make any sense. I never actually had to make the decision of if I wanted to be listed as MV straight or MV Gay since those sub categories didnt exist when I made my account so mv Just moved all my content into what they felt was the relevant category (which was mv gay as all of my content is solo content).

Nope, and it's not even a per video basis it's account level categorization, as far as I know you cant change it after the account is set up either (could be I have just never found the option / really looked for it). Everyone that I know that does gay + trans + straight content was told by MV they needed to set up a separate account for each, and they wont combine earnings of the 3 stores so each store has to make payout individually. ( That was a few years ago, before the sub categories came in, they were told they had to have an MV producer account for straight content, an MV boys account for gay content and an MV trans account for trans content).

Dude, this mentality has got to be a lot of work. Like... worrying about who tips or doesn't. Yes some people are cheap fuckers, but if you spend your time analyzing each one's personality, I feel like it's going to eat up a lot of your mental energy. But I guess our outlook is not something very easy to change...

A lot of the traffic you see on flirt4free (in regards to room counts) is mainly bots, from the second you log in you will have a stream of unregistered users coming into the room, and I noticed it always seemed to stop around the same number (very bot like behaviour) They do have a good base of paying members though, but if they dont feel you are earning enough they will force you to lower your rates (so watch out if you cater to a niche market) and last time I was on there the lowest rate was 10 credits a minute I believe, which is a nice $0.25 cents a minute Support there is terrible, (I have been trying to change my payment method for 6 months and it's still not getting done and they often give wrong information such as an agent told me a credit was worth $0.25, but the actual value of the credit is $0.025, it may have been a typo but it should have been addressed since that makes a massive impact when working out your goal amounts)
They also have deals with studios for them to have priority placement (livejasmin has the same kind of deal too) where studios basically bid for all the top spots on the site.
The site is split over multiple domains too, so to broadcast you use the software, to access your model stats it's one domain, payments are on a completely different domain and there is also a domain where they provide training too.
The broadcast software was pretty good, annoying that you cant resize it (it's a full window application)

So to summerize:
Pros:
-The broadcast window is ok
-Traffic is ok

Cons:
-Forced earnings cap
-Support is awful
-Deals in place with studios to provide them with priority placement

As much as I would want to say I dont recommend it, I cant, there is paying traffic there and there is a chance that you can do well, it's just there are diffidently more downsides to the site than most, but if you find that the site works for you (other than support being absolute crap) then most of the cons about the site wouldnt really be affecting you.

If you don't want to rely on riskier methods like cashapp/venmo/paypal then maybe have them tip you on other content sites that give you a higher %, like PornHub, Onlyfans or ManyVids which I believe all give 80%. Crypto can be nice if both you and the client are comfortable using, and of course there are giftcards.

I did ManyVids for awhile with limited success. That was largely due to the fact that I was lazy and didn't keep putting out new videos though. Eventually I just moved my stuff over to Pornhub for free. The PR for the shows was worth more than I would generally make from MV sales. Not sure if there's a better one for men though, only tried those two.

Honestly I'm pretty sure the clip sites suffer from the same issue as the cam sites for men: Too many guys more than happy to give it away for free.

Two different things, IMO. Chaturbate = lots of money, lots of time. Get payoff right away. PH, MV= little money, little effort. Takes a while to pay off

First post here. One month into Chaturbate and was looking for a forum where a male could ask questions and found this thread. I've read all 19 pages of posts; I sort of found what I was looking for but I'll still ask the original question I had in my head after a bit of history:

Thanks Primal. I looked early this AM and there were over 3000 users looking at guys who were tagged with a toy. It was the highest number on the tags. Looks like you nailed this, at least for me and what I need to do. For me, I can't sell flexing (well, IDK, maybe someone will want to see my non-muscular biceps) and I think that's part of my aversion to the menu. CB's tips are loud. I think there is a way to sync the toy to CB directly and thus you could mute the audio... but I'm not sure, better ask someone who uses the toys.

I let my tip menu just develop from the most frequent requests. It's super basic and only has a few items on it, Flex, Show Ass, you know the drill. It's really just there so that when it comes up, they can be referred to it.

A lot of people look down on it, but the single most powerful thing you can do to encourage tipping is to get a tip activated toy. The thing that separates camming from porn is interactivity. Anyone can go to Pornhub, Xvideos, or any other place and watch someone jerk off any time they want to for free. Someone watching a cam performance is doing so because they want that added element of feedback from the performer. Again, a lot of people look down on it, but a Lovense is the easiest way to create that feedback.

I dropped using goals within a couple months of starting camming. You live by the goal, you die by the goal. Once you hit it, tipping is done. So it creates a floor for tips, but also a ceiling. Tip menu, same thing, and it's mostly just there as a formality. With a toy, they can just keep tipping to get that reaction out of you, and if you perform just right, they will really feel connected to the show.

The sad fact is, most viewers are anonymous or grey. They came with no intention of ever tipping. The ones that do have tokens, they're saving them for the right performer, the one that they get the most back from. There are all sorts of creative ways to structure your show and encourage tipping, but the toy will always be #1, especially for us solo males.

Second the no goal thing, had my highest earning day when I didnt have goals set because there was no end to the show.

Looks like you nailed this, at least for me and what I need to do. For me, I can't sell flexing (well, IDK, maybe someone will want to see my non-muscular biceps) and I think that's part of my aversion to the menu. The lush (The pink toy) isnt really designed for anal use, the hush (the butt plug) I found was great but mine broke after a couple of months. Now I have the prostate massager (the edge) because of the dual motors in it, it's more intense than the edge but it's not as comfortable to ware for long periods of time as the hush was which was why I started looking at other ways I can use it.

The lovense toys will link to a chrome extension that then links to an app on your phone (or pc if you buy the bluetooth adapter) so that's what is going to make it vibrate, it can be done through sound as well but it's not as reliable as using the extention.

There is a mode that allows you to have it vibrate to music, but you wouldn't use that while on cam. You can set it up to be activated by tips and in the settings menu on CB you can lower the tip volume or silence it completely.
