[I'm really really sorry if this has been asked or addressed already. I'm terrible at searching through forums and what I usually end up doing is Googling it through the site, but had no results this time]

Anyone use the same cam name for online, vanilla personalities as well?
e.g. Camming on MFC as Missbunnycakes420xyolo, as well as being a Youtuber or Twitch Streamer as Missbunnycakes420xyolo.

What are the pros and cons to doing this?

Since I'm trying to do the non/never-nude route, I'm wondering if it REALLY makes a difference?

I basically just want to do everything but don't want to manage personas between different stores, cam sites, video sites, and streaming sites. /lazy

If you're happy and comfortable mixing the two, it's certainly your right to do so. I wouldn't count on the fact that you're non-nude to matter to people though since MFC is a porn site.

I'm a youtuber and cam girl and use my name across the board. I actually had a different username on youtube back when I did beauty videos and I still have some hardcore followers from there when I switched over. It doesn't bother me much but it's all personal preference. I agree with Jicky though. If you're on a porn site it won't matter to some people if you're knitting sweaters on cam, it's still a porn site.

My personal view is to keep things seperate, because on the internet it is pretty hard to remove stuff once it is out.

This means for me 1 persona for business and a different for private.

:)

You guys are totally right. I'm happy and comfortable mixing the two, even if that means I'll get trolls (be there done that; also a troll [only in gaming communities] ;x)
I understand that MFC is considered a porn site to most. I guess my reasoning for doing non/never nude was because I didn't want weird kiddos peeping on me. Going to happen at some point, but I guess that's where I can mark my accounts and content as 18+.
I have no problems being nude at all, and I actually think it's fun. Guess I'll throw the non/never nude thing out the window for now because I don't want to add on to my struggle for coming back to camming.

I have plenty of other businesses I want to keep private, but I don't think I'll mind TOO much if I get found out.
I'm an artist with a distinct style and a huge hater base, so I guess I kinda just have to accept that if I get "found" lol.

As long as you keep all of those accounts separate from your personal life (keep personal and work email addresses separate, don't share your location, your real name, etc), I think you will be fine.

Yeah, honestly my new name, Charlay, is similar to my "real" name, which actually anywhere similar to my legal name.
I don't even use my legal name really on anything unless I legally have to. If I can get away with it, I use my fake name, which 95% of the time I can get away with since there's not really a law here that prohibits the usage of fictitious names for businesses and whatnot.

And I also use a completely different browser and mobile device for all my camming related stuff, as well as different emails, messengers, etc. I think I learned to do that long ago, and it actually makes a difference because I have yet to be a suggested friend on any social media to people I personally know.
Only one person has discovered me, but it was from a faceless cam-exclusive photo where they just happened to have an eye for pointing out that the body belonged to me LOL.

I usually say Midwest for my location, or just "Nowhere, Kansas" [applauds anyone who gets the reference].

yep, as long as you're comfortable and don't share any super-personal information, it doesn't seem like a problem.
I use the same name on my steam account too, but that's because the only people I know on there irl know I cam and I want regulars to get my games on my wishlist, :shame:

I'm in the process of setting up a new Youtube account. However, my goal is to end up being sponsored by a company (paid to review their items and promote sales for them) and possibly become partnered with Youtube. Yes, those are huge dreams. It's probably not gonna happen. But that's the goal.

I decided to use a completely different name for my Youtube personality. No, I don't care if people find out that I work on porn site (non-nude or otherwise). My reason is because I'm pretty sure that the sponsoring company and Youtube won't want to partner with someone who is in the adult industry. So that right there is one easy way to hinder yourself from growing as big (viewer-wise and monetary-wise) as you can. But if you're just doing it for funsies, sure, go ahead and pair the two. You can probably use your multitude of Twitter and tumblr followers to help boost views to your Youtube channel.

I do a sort of don't ask don't tell kinda thing. On all my other sites I just don't have a name. I'll tell people to call me a nickname derived from my username which would be probably some sort of animal. I do this because I just personally wanna avoid people making the connection. It really depends on your comfortability level with people making the connection.
