Thing is, the technology exists and it's fairly simple to render these 'rippers' useless yet MFC have failed to implement any security! Pretty shameful considering how much money they must be raking in.
Maybe since they are raking it in so well, they don't feel it's worth their time or effort to implement it. Everyone says that they're in it for the money and don't care about the models (even though by paying me such a high percentage I feel cared about) so it's the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" motto, maybe.
There is a cost.
Tighter control of 'rights' means that some people can't watch the site anymore.
For example, going to flash 10 only would break one of the platforms I occasionally watch MFC on, as there is no flash 10, only 9.
Or going to silverlight would mean I couldn't use it on any computer I own.
Also.
Does it matter?
Unless you feel what goes on in a private was truly private, and you would never consider repeating that 'show' for others, does your video appearing on random sites affect you?
Neglecting the people that put logos on their video - which slightly changes the case - you're not - personally likely to lose or gain any money by someone watching a pirate video.
The choice isn't between them watching your private on pirateMFCtube or spying on your private on MFC.
It's between watching your video on pirateMFCtube, watching some other girl on that site, or wandering round the internet looking for free porn.
Only people that visit MFC can potentially click on your room, so in some ways any pirated content anywhere that mentions myfreecams from any model lets people find you.
Then there is the other issue of value-added by breaking the terms and conditions of MFC.
Others in this thread have raised the issue that MFC basically says 'We might keep archives of your videos that you can access later, if we feel like it'. I'm somewhat more likely to go private or group, if I know that it actually is being recorded locally, and if MFC dies the video doesn't go away.
(I have so far spent 10 tokens in private or group, so this isn't really a big issue
)
