Top predators sometimes get into it with each other over food, territory or occasionally just because.

My two favorite smaller land critters are the wolverine and badger. Honey badgers will chase off lions, one even killed a male lion by biting off his junk just like the above lions did to the Mapoga leader and the lion bled to death. Nasty tough and fearless little buggers.

Sometimes living is a victory in itself.

Because there is always tomorrow.

I used to live in a neighborhood where everyone always said "watch out for the crazy, rabid squirrels!" This totally makes me think of those damn squirrels! Lol. They were dangerously vicious! Poor snake, they do make a tastey bbq though.

relieved to see this thread was NOT, in fact, at all what i was expecting.
... what kind of effed up headspace am i in that i was completely expecting some type of chris hansen related something or other. :woops:

 You're not alone Cass.. it was tried on page 2. Blood and guts only I think was the intent for the thread ... :thumbleft:

^^^ That's one of the reasons I'm not down with swimmin in open water. I'm a scaredy cat. I'll swim in a pool, my bathtub or some kind of contraption that holds water but not animals though. Swimmin in open water, just can't do it.

I buy most my meat from small local farms and the amish, where this shit doesnt go on.....

nice thread jack... :snooty: now I suppose all the animal folks will start in... :woops:
Have you ever seen how a farm works? Many times things are butchered with less "compassion" that the automated factories. By all means, it's great to support local farmers but unless you have actually lived/worked/seen it in its detail, its kind of a wishful statement.

Ok this took me so long to respond to....I suck at forums....I didn't post the video because I'm upset about how they are killed really....It's is just about how they live up until death....I live in rural PA, which is pretty much all of PA practically, lol, but yeah I have actually lived on a farm (my best friends house, her dad was a farmer) the animals had a great life the cows walked around chilled out all day in a big feild eating grass and hay (grass fed beef kicks corn fed beefs ass!! lol)......much nicer than the cows we eat from the grocery store, never hung out to watch him kill the cows but animals killing animals is normal, I guess the part that gets me is the horrid life they live before we kill them when raised by dumb corporate douchebags......I'm cool with hunting, and cool with small farms as long as they treat the animals right, not vegitarian or vegan (realize its a vegitarian/vegan type vid....sorry) Just think the living conditions are FUCKED up more than anything

Just realized its kind of funny to say "as long as they treat the animals right" when I'm totally meaning be nice before you kill them....lol....but really we are the only animal who will completely control and fuck up an animals life before going in for the kill. Kind of weird. I don't see anything wrong with the killing and their is no "humane" way to kill. Killing is killing and we are animals like all the rest, but please let the animals live with some dignity before they have to die :)

Several predators in nature consume their prey while it's still alive. Maybe that's where the term "humane killing" originated, I dunno. Every cheeseburger and steak has a bloody gut pile behind it somewhere. Killing with minimum to no pain is the "humane" way IMHO. There is no pleasant way to do it, at least not for most of us. A recent survival show about a husband and wife team just came to mind. The guy instructed his wife to catch a feral chicken... once she caught it, he said to calmly stroke it first to calm it down before suddenly breaking it's neck. There are no other predators in the world aside from humans that will do that.

Sadly these three bobcats died of Parvo, but it is neat watching them learn to hunt. I think they would have been capable adults, and had no trouble making it in the wild.

This one has them hunting live rats.

Extra blooper reel.

I felt sad the poor sharks wasted all that energy attacking the scientific equivalent of a practical joke.

They are nocturnal, and not very aggressive so I could not any good hunting videos for them. I did find two "attack" videos if you want to watch them.

This one is reminded me of Steve Irwin's attack, and shows why it is important to give wild animals their space.

This one is just adorable.

 They have stingray petting tanks at the Opry Mills Mall and at an aquarium in the area. My sister and brother always wanted to pet the damn things.. :woops: I was thoroughly convinced that my parents were going to watch one of them die because they let them pet the stingrays. I wouldn't get within 5 feet of the tanks, just to be safe, but also because I'm a ginormous scaredy cat. Still don't understand why they let people pet stingrays.
