Just watched a couple recently: Lars and the Real Girl- fantastic film, maybe a bit of a stretch with reality, but a nice exploration into a damaged mind; and Bernie.

Bernie surprised me. I don't usually care for Jack Black (le gasp!!), but in this film I think he deserves accolades. I love any movie that shows a comic actor really has the chops to ACT and this is that movie for Jack. Also, Shirley MacLaine, so hard to go wrong there.

Hey Arlond
Ahhhhhh Real Monsters
Invator Zim
Renn and Stimpy
Rockos Modern Life

Robot & Frank. Not a bad human interest story.

I don't know if anyone posted it yet. The Gymnast was really good. I think it's an indie film. It's a lesbian film about an older gymnast who is doing an aerial silk show with a young girl and they end up falling for eachother.

But maybe I just like it because I do aerial yoga & dance...

Edit: Fixed typos. I hate using an unfamiliar keyboard at an awkward angle...

I just watched this documentary on Netflix called Whore's Glory.

It looks into prostitution and how it is conducted around the world. It was fascinating and really looks into the lives of a couple of individual girls hopes and aspirations. It did make me rage at points so if you are sensitive to that kind of thing I don't recommend it but I find stuff like this enlightening.

omfg! i just watched "The Life of Pi" last night. i swear i spent the first half hour just weeping from the beauty of it. im not usually a fan of ang lee's direction choices, but he nailed that movie. from the sweeping, gorgeous vistas of india, to the more real than real CG work in the storms of the ocean it blew my mind. not to mention the subtlety of the story of the main character and his growth spiritually. oh, and did i mention a big awesome CG tiger? a tiger that i had to rewind over and over because i couldnt tell if it was real or CG several times?
just astoundingly good work!

I've been stuck on Psych, Lost Girl, Dollhouse, and many others. My roommate's have been watching Star Trek, and I've been told Battlestar Galactica is great! Also, I strongly recommend Once Upon a Time.

As for movies:

God Bless America
Dead Girl (if you're in to horror and disturbing topics)
Spork (super-cute and rather hilarious coming-of-age movie that deals with an overused topic (bullying) of a young girl dealing with a quite underused dilemma (I'll give you a hint... the movie title is the name she was given.)

I keep forgetting to bring up/recommend "Satisfaction". (It's Australian or Kiwi, I can't remember).

Netflix descrip = "Putting a human face on an age-old profession, this series centers on the lives of five distinctly lovely ladies who work at an upscale urban brothel. Key to the drama is the woman pulling all the strings, the manipulative brothel manager."

I watched it before I ever even considered camming, but I think models and members alike will enjoy it for all the sexy naked women and hot sex as well as some interesting fetishes and the problems/dangers that go along with sex work.

Been watching a lot of sort of dumb, coming of age films as of late. I really liked Spork and Tudor Hall. Both were visually beautiful with captivating themes and wonderful music selections.

The Living Wake, it's a weird comedy about a man who finds out he has a terminal illness, Jesse Eisenberg plays his biographer/assistant

Netflix Addict here :-D lol some good stuff (show wise)
The IT Crowd
John Benjamin Has a Van
Twin Peaks
Comedy Bang! Bang!

Movie wise only thing that comes to mind is V/H/S, watch too many to remember haha. V/H/S is a GREAT horror movie though ;)

I love John Benjamin! Or at least his voice.

I first found him as coach McGuirk on the cartoon Home Movies (which is on Netflix and I highly recommend watching it) and now watch Bob's Burgers because he stars in it. He is funny as hell when he gets all pissed off.

It is my busy season so I have been spending a lot of nights here at the shop. Netflix keeps me company. I am re-watching the series The Wonder Years again. I never saw it when it first aired as I was older and thought it was a kids show for some reason. Found it later on, watched the entire run from start to end, and thought it was brilliant! The time line, clothing, and many of the props are off at times (a 68 Polara is an old car compared to a brand new 68 Dart, for example). From someone who lived it, I always felt that the show was about 5 years off especially from a fashion stand point. And yes, I wore some of the real bad 70's clothes they show. That may be why I love the show as I see so much of my own life growing up when I watch it. I was born in 1965 to give a point of reference.

My two favorite episodes are Square Dance, from season 2, episode 15, and The Accident, from season 4, episode 20. No other TV series could ever made me cry like this one can. I certainly misjudged it until I finally watched an episode years after the series had ended.
