She'll probably like it a lot better. It's actually user-friendly, the calls don't drop randomly and the call quality is overall better.

I love the term "guild", throw's me back to the days of rolling the dice to determine Intelligence, Wisdom and Dexterity....I will try it later, my girlfriend hates Skype anyway :)

girlfriend? OoOoOo :p

Most of what was "changed" was already in Microsoft's TOS to begin with. They just updated their services and (if I recall correctly) updated more X-Box language.

As you can see: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/servicesagreement

Microsoft has had in their Code of Conduct since at least July 15th, 2016:

Code of Conduct.
  • a. By agreeing to these Terms, you’re agreeing that, when using the Services, you will follow these rules:
    • i. Don’t do anything illegal.
    • ii. Don’t engage in any activity that exploits, harms, or threatens to harm children.
    • iii. Don’t send spam. Spam is unwanted or unsolicited bulk email, postings, contact requests, SMS (text messages), or instant messages.
    • iv. Don’t publicly display or use the Services to share inappropriate Content or material (involving, for example, nudity, bestiality, pornography, graphic violence, or criminal activity).
    • v. Don’t engage in activity that is false or misleading (e.g., asking for money under false pretenses, impersonating someone else, manipulating the Services to increase play count, or affect rankings, ratings, or comments).
    • vi. Don’t circumvent any restrictions on access to or availability of the Services.
    • vii. Don’t engage in activity that is harmful to you, the Services, or others (e.g., transmitting viruses, stalking, posting terrorist content, communicating hate speech, or advocating violence against others).
    • viii. Don’t infringe upon the rights of others (e.g., unauthorized sharing of copyrighted music or other copyrighted material, resale or other distribution of Bing maps, or photographs).
    • ix. Don’t engage in activity that violates the privacy of others.
    • x. Don’t help others break these rules.
  • b. Enforcement. If you violate these Terms, we may stop providing Services to you or we may close your Microsoft account or Skype account. We may also block delivery of a communication (like email or instant message) to or from the Services in an effort to enforce these Terms or we may remove or refuse to publish Your Content for any reason. When investigating alleged violations of these Terms, Microsoft reserves the right to review Your Content in order to resolve the issue. However, we cannot monitor the entire Services and make no attempt to do so.
So, you could always have gotten reported and banned from their services.

If you compare the side by side (image attached) current TOS with the new one, you'll see that X-Box is the one that's really getting updated.

I think that there were harder yet less announced invasions to people’s privacy in 2001, after September 11. I’m more scared about someone reading my email messages, than someone boring themselves to death reading my Skype messages, unless they study communication and clinical speech therapy...

Just a quick PSA

I'm migrating ALL of my Skype clients to Discord, and you should too.

Their new TOS is ok with 18+ content AS LONG AS THE CHANNELS ARE LABELED AS SUCH! Video calls won't be monitored AFAIK.

Also, a few friends and I from StripperWeb are starting a community, like a hub or exchange for camgirls and clients to drive up traffic and clientele.

Please feel free to join and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Discord Server.

I've never used Skype but I have used Teamspeak and Discord for gaming and other online groups, including one belonging to a cam model. I've always been impressed with Discord and how easy (and free) it is to setup a server. I don't think any models switching over will be disappointed.

Whatever happened to programs like ICU II and ISPQ? I cut my teeth on those programs back in the day. They worked quite well, considering.

Thank you. I'm surprised at how many people assumed that this was a new rule.

Also, it's Microsoft! Of course they're monitoring you. :haha:

Discord is a wonderful app, however, I'm worried if they will react to the upcoming UK age-verification law for 18+ channels. I guess we will have to wait and find out.

And if you click for more information on the xbox line, it takes you to a page that hasn't been updated since 2015:

There's really not a whole lot of NEW stuff going on here. Just like when people freaked out that Twitter was banning porn... they were citing rules that had been there for years but they didn't realize it until an article came out to scare everyone.

I've started using Discord in the past few months and so far I'm loving it. It has far more features than skype and by using the Discord App I'm inline with customers who have more disposable income than most..gamers. I'm also a gamer and a complete technophile therefore it's an easy transition for me, but I do understand that it may not be as easy for some people to adapt. I have several skype customers that just can't wrap their heads around shifting to alternative services.

But we shouldn't panic because these policies can be re-worked and re-worded once they review all of the push back surrounding these changes. So far Discord as far I can see is the only one to define their stance on adult content as recently as today. I wrote an article about it a few months ago with new policy updates if anyone would like to check it out Discord, The New Skype Alternative For Cammodels I'm currently working on some other alternatives as well.

I haven't been able to get Discord to run on my Mac. I can't validate my identity. I've tried 3 different emails and two phone numbers. And it doesn't work whether I have proxy server running or not. So I don't know what's going on. I put my phone number in and it just says "invalid phone number*. So far I hate it lol.

Yep, D&D and EQ was a good combo for me. :)

Never tried Discord. may have to look into it. Though, no GF to test it out with. Hmm...

It's okay she hates Discord too. At the end of the day, any relationship, close or long distance takes work. People in a long distance relationship however, tend to be annoying like freshly turned vegans. They go on forums and put it out as if it was something very special, and go on and on about themselves. Oh wait that's me again...sigh.
