Yet as example models from Romania are NOT permitted member accounts. And don't cite it's because of fraud as the USA has 47 percent of the world's card fraud despite only accounting for 24 percent of total worldwide card volume. That's xenophobic in my book !!

If we're going back to our roots in this thread, what does this have to do with WhoreNickels, her depiction of PumpkinSpice, and her show attempting to satirize / ridicule violence against PoC?

You would have been better off starting a new thread if you want to discuss the alleged injustices of Eastern European model vs. member accounts. I'm curious to hear about the topic outside of the context of this thread. Cut your losses in this one and try again.

Edit: Oh, and if you do make a new thread, you might not want to come out tilting at windmills... I'm pretty certain racism and/or xenophobia is not the cause of MFC limiting premium accounts, if in fact this is an issue.

Was using it as an example that was all in comparison to to the racist label being used to define her satire ( mocking ) of the hands up gesture. Is the hands up used by people on these marches not satire ( mocking ) towards the police ? People shout racist way too often these day's without justification.

Yes and no.

Models from Romania are not allowed because NO ONE from Romania is allowed. MFC has the whole country blacklisted for creating member accounts. It has nothing to do with being a model. It's just if they try to create one it's closed purely for being from there.

I would only assume they made this decision based on recurring trends they witnessed first hand directly affecting them. Romania may not be the highest source of fraud globally as a whole, but in the adult industry and specifically in camming... It might be?

Still don't understand what that has to do with race, Romanian is not a skin color. Xenophobia and racist often go hang in hand but are not the same thing.

You brought up the stuff about Romanian models, so that's all on you. Don't put my name in that one. Lol.

It sucks, but I think you're in a lose/lose situation sadly. If you continue to support your favourite model, you also continue to support MFC (unless your model friend moves sites of course). If you do stop tipping though, the model will feel the absence of your financial support much more than MFC will. Even if you were to see to it that your model continued to receive the same money from you, but with you circumventing MFC, then they still wouldn't see the camscore benefits and all that come with it.

I agree that boycotting as a form of protest is pretty useless in general. I guess one of the things that gets to me about this is being confronted with feeling powerless to do anything of meaning in the face of blatant racism and a company that condones it by allowing it to happen. So then I go back to telling myself to pick my battles.

I also have moments where I'm reminded of my naivety at times like this. Maybe I should lower my expectations of people? But I am Armenian and it's really hard to swallow racism (and xenophobia!).

At this point I feel like I will continue to frequent the rooms of my favourite cam ladies and tip them on MFC but because I am so turned off by this I will be looking for other ways to support them - like through clip sites and stuff.

I agree that it was clearly satire. And not to diminish the anger anyone feels over the subject of WhoreNickels show, but when you call something like this racism, I believe you dilute the meaning of the word.

Most Romanian models are studio models. Their MFC account and nickname have been made by the studio they work for. They rarely have the means to pay $20, or to use the computer how they see fit in all privacy.

I therefor do not think it's a policy of Myfreecams that there are so few Romanian models having a premium account, but rather these practical issues.

MFC has made a decision toward a country based on some economic reason none of use are privy too. They have in no way tried to make derogatory remarks against the country and its people, or implied it is for anything but a business based decision. That's not racism.
