Also, start watching cams if you haven't been already. Watch cams that you usually wouldn't watch.
i agree with the watch cams part!
i watched so many camgirls on quite a few different sites till i found a site where i seemed to like the vibe better.
(aka i do better with social chat rooms than private based sites, both streaming wise and as a viewer ! )

Good question, I am researching exactly this question, last count was 37 major sites so a lot of choice.
1. One of the big busy sites - chaturbate or MFC would be good starters
2. Some sites will take a bigger or smaller percentage so check
3. Find a site you feel comfortable in - as said - watch lots of sites/shows
4. You can have multiple sites, some models 4 sites
5. If you pick wrong it not the end, just end one and sign with another
6. Some sites don't accept models from some countries
7. Some sites offer more features, opportunities to earn from selling product or gimmicks
8. Better or worse tech support, hard to know till you need it
9. Some sites are better written, less buggy and give users better video stream
