I need a good cam site - Streamate is a scam

MFC is where I started out, and while it's a great site and runs smoothly from my perspective, it's been going downhill as far as membership. There haven't been as many members viewing, and therefore a lot of the models (such as myself) are looking for other sites to branch out to. Some of my regulars recommended I try out Streamate as well as Chaturbate.

Do my fellow models have any recommendations in that regard?

Woah, I'm surprised they're even dealing with you. One of my regs joined a gold show of mine when his card had expired and didn't realize. Half way through the show he remembers, leaves the gold show and contacts streamate. Then things get weird. They ban him permanently even though he tries to put his new card in and pay for the 5 dollar gold show.. And then they said they "refunded" his card 5 dollars? After much explanation on his part that it would make no sense to do that because he was trying to give them money, not get money back.

I'm shocked to hear something similar didn't happen on your end.

Exaaaaactly! that's what i'm talking about.... when i tried to talk to them, they kept giving contradictory answers, and then started yelling at me. I just let them keep yelling, while i LOL'd at the guy. What a flim-flam outfit.

Good rule of thumb: any site that doesnt do real-time displayed metering, is that way for a reason, so they can scam you. Not so they can keep you focused on the model, but so they can over-charge you. iFriends does the same thing.

I wonder how this happened.
I have soooo many regulars who do shows with me multiple times a week on Streamate and none of them have had a problem being charged anything other than what they were supposed to be.

That's because they didnt track the time for each session - i did, and what was charged (vs. actual time spent) was off by at least a factor of 2. For me, who spends $1000s per year on this stuff, that adds up big.

But...they do.
I even know some of their daily limits and they're always in an exclusive for the exact appropriate amount of time before they hit it (at which point they get completely booted from paid chat, insuring they don't get any further charges).

Was this all today? Could they be holding extra money like some restaurants do? I bitched out payoneer a few months ago because a pizza place was holding extra money on an order without my realizing they routinely do so.

I keep an eye on the clock while in Exclusives, because for me as a model, it's important to know exactly what's going on/how much to expect from any given session, and then I will check my earnings afterward to make sure it lines up. It's always within a minute of my rough estimation (glance at the clock on my computer, make a mental note of the time, then make a note of the time after the guy logs off.) If it was 'off' in any way, I would know... and that's never, ever happened in my time on SM.

To clarify, I can see # of min. the guy spent in chat with me, my per-min. rate, and then the total I earned from the session on my end (so essentially the same as the member sees, except you see the amount you were charged overall.) And none of those numbers have ever been off after one of my shows.

They dont always - i tracked it several times today. For me, it was way off, not even close. Like i said, who knows, maybe they treat debit card payers differently.

Same. I keep a timer open that I start any time I get taken into a show to avoid the 30 second peeper loophole, I've never had any of my numbers not line up either.

Totally unrelated to what happens on the back end processing system. You never see the *actual* amount charged to the guy's credit card. That's where the scam is.

Unrelated to what actually gets charged to a guy's credit card.

I'm not sure how you can tell me what other people are or are not doing.
I charge $6.99 a minute. I have a regular who sees me every Friday with a $150 limit, and every Friday he spends the exact same time in a show with me right down to the second before he gets booted.

Are you factoring in that all girls have different prices? Not every model charges $5 a minute.

In your initial post you said you did 1 show for 5 minutes at $5 a min and were charged $100. So there was more than one show, then?

But the guys can see how much they were charged/how many minutes they spent/my per-minute rate. I have at least 2 dozen guys who regularly get Exclusives from me, all of whom, like Noelle pointed out, have a daily limit that kicks them out automatically after it's reached. And it is always the right amount of time for what I know their limit is. Which means that they're not getting 'scammed' in any way, in terms of what they're being charged. And lots of guys DO keep an eye on the time, because they know about their limit and want to have the maximum amount of fun they can before time is up. If anything was fishy, I would have heard about it from them... but this isn't an issue that any of my guys have.

Yes, all today. I wish it was a hold. I called the bank. Both my debit cards have zero balances now.

Whoa, whoa, WHOA. You said you were using GIFT CARDS, not DEBIT CARDS. You've also stated that you were using only gift cards because you didn't want the camsite to have your real info... but gift cards (even pre-loaded ones) don't have a bank that you call to see what the balance is; you check it online.

I smell shenanigans, dear sir.

None of this is adding up, sir.
First it was a gift card, then a debit card, now it's a charge on a credit card?
WHAT.

You're confused. It's definitely not a credit card. It's a debit/gift card. I have no idea what the exact term is.

I honestly feel like there's just something somewhere that you missed.

You really think that guys are so out-of-touch with their spending that they don't double-check how much was charged to their credit card, or read their statements and dispute any out-of-the-ordinary charges? I sincerely doubt it, especially with as low as some guy's limits can be. They know what they're spending, they see the charge go out, it matches what's in their SM spending history, and that's the end of that.

Also, it's not that it's 'something I don't want to hear', but I am honestly flummoxed by you changing your wording every other post about exactly how you paid. It's no skin off my ass that you got 'scammed', and it won't affect my earnings or the site as a whole. I honestly came into this just trying to see what was going on and reassure you that whatever is going on most likely has nothing to do with SM (due to both my and other girl's experiences with the site and our member's experiences). But you seem to be absolutely convinced that you were 'scammed', so there it is I suppose. :woops:

Might wanna check the transaction history instead of just the balance though. Assuming whatever the hell kind of card you're using allows you the access it. That would actually give you proof if it was SM or another source that charged you that much.

Was this all today? Could they be holding extra money like some restaurants do? I bitched out payoneer a few months ago because a pizza place was holding extra money on an order without my realizing they routinely do so.

Yes, all today. I wish it was a hold. I called the bank. Both my debit cards have zero balances now.
... I'm an MFC girl so no defensive nature here but... Uh. why lie about details? It ruins credibility for what might be a real problem.

LOL! omg, the trolls are coming out now, time to move on

Saying 'whatever the hell' counts as swearing now. Okay. Whatever, dude. I hope whatever model you got 'scammed' while getting a show with got her 35% of your missing money, poor girl deserves it.

Hmm, well, this all went weird quickly.

Anyway, if it were me I'd give it until Monday to make sure the card (whatever type it was) didn't just put large holds on it, then call SM back to complain. How much of a difference was there?

Glitches do happen. Streamate might have shit customer service, but it's not a scam.

Dude, DUDE. Did you just call Jolene a troll? Simmer down now.
