Don't assume that CB will always remember your last token purchase quantity, and the credit card to use, even though 99.9% of the time it does remember the correct details.

CB decided to glitch on me and thought my previous transaction was $1k's worth (12700 tokens) instead of my normal 750 or 1000 tokens, and also tried to use the wrong credit card (I have both a Visa and a MC on their system)

I am unfamiliar with that dialog, does everyone see that now? My spending account has the feature to remember credit cards disabled from a request i made a long time ago so i've never seen a dialog like that.
This is a relatively recent implementation where this is now a little pop-up panel in the top right whereas it used to be a full pop-out window.

There have been reports here from time to time of members trying to buy x number of tokens and CB defaulting them back to a much higher purchase before they realize it.

Definitely gotta keep an eye on what you’re selecting/purchasing at every step of the process before clicking all the way through. What you thought you selected may not be, or it may change without warning from one step to the next.

After buying 1K tokens, I tried an experiment by clicking "get more". Sure enough, instead of remembering the 1000 token purchase from 8 or so hours ago it defaulted again to a ridiculous 12700 token ($998.98) amount.

I predict a shitload of "I bought too many tokens, please refund" posts to arrive shortly...

Good to check before proceeding. When I top up, it always offers the same package as the last purchase.
What is interesting to me is where does CB keep that data? Last time my credit card was replaced (same card number, new expiry date), Stripchat's billing system picked up on needing the new expiry date, and automatically requested I update the card details, but CB's did not.
I was curious how long it would be until I got the prompt to update new card details; it's now well over 6 months that I've been buying tokens on that expired card. Hmmm.
[Card account is still billed on the old expired card, before anyone thinks I found a loophole to exploit for free tokens :)]

Yeah, definitely not the first time that’s been reported here. It doesn’t happen all the time - and it’s never happened to me, personally - but it seems to happen to others pretty often.

Whether it’s a bug or “feature,” a thousand bucks is a pretty dangerous default option for purchases. Even people who are careful to read what they’re clicking/tapping on during purchases, could occasionally double-tap without meaning to. Has the makings of an expensive and stressful mistake.
 
I've noticed a few quirks with this. I only buy tokens in blocks of 1000 because tokens burn a hole in my pocket however I notice that sometimes it defaults back to that amount when I'm trying to top up with smaller amounts. The other thing I noticed is that if you change your payment method for one particular purchase, it can change the token amount between initially selecting it and confirming the purchase, so you need to be super vigilant.

$999 is bigger pain in the ass than you'd imagine as well. It's the kind of thing that triggers security at the bank and gets your bank card frozen pre-emptively in case of fraud.

That would depend on the type of card and the account holder's credit rating/history. I have no doubt many big spenders have a single transaction limit much higher than my quarterly income.
But agree that it could be a big problem for many if they proceeded without checking the amount.

I've mentioned in other similar threads that I manually set a transaction limit on my card that prevents me buying a bigger-value token package than I'm willing to buy in one hit.
Just means if I want to get more, it's a deliberate intention to top up several times in succession, but avoids accidental spend.

Sorry, should have clarified that it's often the combination of the amount and the nature of the vendor rather than solely the amount.

Is it a cookie? Like it doesn't remember the Amount in incognito? Or is it server side where cookie doesn't matter
 
$999 would wipe me out and put me in debt.
Really not lying to the ladies that I'm only able to tip a little.

I used to buy the 1k amount but moved up to the 2k something or other deal as its 39% tokens free.

I've never had that glitch but I do always triple check before I click for this very fear of overpaying/spending.

BTW the Firefox browser session was normal, not private/incognito.

No the cc information is definitely not a cookie but maybe token amount is but I dunno

Speaking only for myself - mine currently defaults to the last token package size I purchased, in incognito. I have the option to go up to $999.99 (12,700tk) in a single transaction, but it’s not my default option. I’d have to deliberately select it.

And again, I’ve yet to have the issue myself, and I am in incognito browser mode more often than not.

While I eventually (hours later) got the 1000 tokens I bought, checking my c/c statement just now I see they have charged me twice, i.e. for two lots of 1000 tokens with only 1000 showing in my balance.

As well as having to fuck around lodging a dispute with my bank, their glitches gave me another "gift". Because CB or MMbill looked at bullshit figures for "last transaction amount" and "last card used", it used a credit card I haven't used with CB for a long time, which due to my bad luck pushed it over the credit limit. So now I can expect a $30 overlimit penalty in my next c/c statement.

ps thanks also for not responding to my mail I left on two of your support web pages on the day of your glitches.

This is not anyone on this sites fault.
 
Careful many adult sites ban quick when they receive a chargeback. If possible you should give CB more time to resolve it prior to taking that step.
The dispute has already been lodged with my bank. I won't shed a tear if they kick me for that, as long as they refund those 1K tokens that are still sitting in my account (and which I haven't yet made use of, and won't, until this saga is resolved in my favor)

Similar problem happened 2 or 3 years ago when I was double-charged for a fan club subscription, although it was only a small amount ($10 or $15 from memory). Back then I notified CB who said something like "nah, couldn't be our side", even though I attached a screen-cap of my c/c statement and CB's "your account activity". The bank eventually resolved it in my favor.

To be fair to CB though, two problems from 195 purchases with them over 4 years is probably not too bad of a record.

You guys know you have like more than a month to file a dispute. That should give you plenty of time to solve issue with the site before absolutely nuking your account. Because that's what's gonna happen next.

Y'all know glitches happen. It wouldnt be logical for chaturbate to be making fraudulent charges...

If it weren't for the plethora of CB competition out there then yes, I would be thinking twice about the implications of having to revert to pornhub in order to Purge The Daily Urge ;)

Issue has been resolved, sorta...

The good:
- CB reversed the double-charge to my c/card
- clicking "get more (tokens)" is back to normal, and not defaulting to the wrong c/card and that crazy 12,700 token amount

The not so good:
- the US-AU exchange rate changed in those few days, meaning their (or mmbill's) fuckup cost me about US$2 with the exchange rate fluctuation
- CB (politely) declined to reimburse me, in tokens, the $30 that my bank is likely to hit me with for going overlimit due to CB/mmbill using the wrong c/c and double-charging.

yeah, first world problems I know :)
