Kittycatpurr said:Now this may be utterly irrelevant in some people's eyes but I just bought a new laptop today cos I broke my other one last night (from now on i swear to god I am using clingfilm on my keyboard for shows cos of the squirt problem).
Obviously I've spent the entire day making back-up discs blah blah blah...and have had to dig out more software to download for my logitech quickcam orbit sphere af. The software I have installed is different to the stuff i had on my old laptop and is a) really clunky and not very intuitive and b) doesn't seem to include a decent motion simmer for vidoe calls and streaming.
Does anyone please have the old software that they could send me cos this stuff is driving me bezerk? I am supposed to be on cam this evening and frankly I think i am going to get pissed off with it really bloody quickly if i can't get it sorted. Fuck knows why logitech had to fuck with the previous software. It worked brilliantly! (if it ain't broke...don't fucking fix it IMHO)
Please pretty please...HELP!!!
I don't think it'll let you keep the old driver once you install it... forces an upgrade...Mirra said:ACTUALLY while searching for the old software to use on my work-laptop with a Pro 9000, I stumbled across the following page.
Webcam software and driver support for Windows
If you scroll down to the very bottom of the page, you'll see Logitech Webcam Software (LWS) 1.1 with Vid and Logitech Webcam Software (LWS) 1.1 x64 with Vid listed in a table. This seems to be the last releases of the older style software. You can download them straight from Logitech!
Rightlight, rightsound, and auto focus should all be turned off normally. And having your exposure down to about halfway (which can be done with the right amount of lights in your room) will help the choppiness of the cam feed as well.Kittycatpurr said:Thank you for the help peeps. After much fucking around last night i managed to get it to stop blurring every time i moved by messing with the rightlight settings. So useful having rightlight settings that make it look like everything is seen as though through an acid trip, complete with light trails...
I guess the next big question is how much more unflattering is the new HD cam they've made? I baulk at the thought of having my stubble and every little blemish on show to the world...but am wondering whether a newer cam might be a worthwhile upgrade...

The C910 was somewhat unflattering, although clearer. The contrast and color settings were not up to par with what I had come to love on the 9000, though, so it didnt' cut it for me. The sound was brilliant on it, though.
That's the catch with the logitech software... you HAVE to reclick the white balance and exposure/gain boxes each time you turn on your cam. My process is to check and uncheck the auto gain control, then check and uncheck the white balance auto. Sets it right where I need it daily.TashaTypical said:i had difficulties with the auto focus as well.. but i just push default settings.. then unclick everything.. and putting everything into better lighting and such.. i do this everytime before i use my cam.. and it seems alot better now..
I did a custom install and unchecked Logitech Vid. I have never found it terribly useful. Maybe I'm crazy. I just reinstalled it on this computer to test. It's not asking to upgrade anything.AmberCutie said:I don't think it'll let you keep the old driver once you install it... forces an upgrade...

Why would anyone pay to see anything with that quality? It's almost as bad as watching the old CinePorn channel between the scramble lines.MyCamgirl said:Probably the worst webcam I ever saw.
But at least she is planning to get a new webcam soon.
Extremely good point. So many girls don't realize that investing a mere $70 up front will make your first paycheck loads better all on it's own. Well that, and a little common sense in turning on a few lights and adjusting the settings on said camera.bawksy said:The worst part about it is that she's completely squandering her *NEW* status and camscore of 1000. She should have waited until *after* she got the cam to make her debut.

Make sure when the lighting changes you go in and re-click on/off on the radio boxes for White Balance and Auto Gain. And yes, I mean check the box, then uncheck it immediately. Look at the picture and see if it's where it needs to be. White Balance should be at 0 most likely, but for some reason the click/unclick process snaps it into place.LaylaAnn said:Ok so I have read through this entire thread and have found it very helpful. Thank you!! I just have a few more questions.
1. Does anyone else notice when playing with the settings on the Logitech the picture you get looks different then when you log on to MFC? Is there away to adjust settings when logged in ?
2. I LOVE to cam during the day because I feel the natural light is perfect. Once the sun goes down, I turn into a red head with orange skin. I`m brunette with fairly pale skin. Is this something that is better fixed settings or more lights?Seems the more lights I add the more of an oompa loompa effect I get. Also, are there certain bulbs that`ll better give me that natural light look?
Any help would be awesome sauce and feel free to make fun of my total lack of, well, I`m retarded :?
For MFC the logitech 9000 is still the best as far as I'm concerned. MFC doesn't (yet) stream in HD anyhow.Countessa said:Sorry for the bump guys...
My logitech quick cam pro 9000 just broke (the stand snapped clean off and now I can't get it to perch on my monitor or desk anymore) what is the latest and greatest webcam? I was thinking of getting one of the Logitech HD ones (I know it wont make that much of a difference on MFC but I also take photos with it for content on other websites etc). Does anyone have any idea which is the best? Not really worried about cost ($200 limit I guess) because the cam pays for itself pretty quick, haha.
Thanks!

The C910 is the HD version if you're wanting to bump up to HD... but good luck getting used to the settings as opposed to what you're used to with the 9000.
It's worth so much more than even $58! I'd pay a lot more for it if I needed to.barman07 said:The 9000 was recently $44 on Amazon. If you needed an upgrade, would've been a good time to pick one up. I gifted two at that price. It's back up to $58 now, but it wouldn't surprise me if it goes back down again.
Countessa said:Thanks for the advice, I picked up the C910 from a computer store (amazon doesn't ship to Australia so that's not an option for me, but it was only like AU$100) and OH MY GOSH it works so much better in low-light conditions than what my 9000 did. I'm so happy with it! And it takes massive pics, really does capture all those little zits and razor burn though, but I am going to just make it a tiiiny bit out of focus so that its about the same clarity-wise as the 9000. Its nice to have that super-clear option though. Also, the stand is much more stable than the 9000's which was top-heavy. The software is the same as what I was using with the 9000 (Logitech Cam Software 2.1) so no change there. The audio is really clear too, so no more loud wandering around in the background for my manfella I guess!

that is a full screen shot that I pulled this morning
No remote. It doesn't pan/tilt/zoom.CherryRita said:OK i was wondering if the Logitech pro 9000 comes with a remote? or do you get that separate? and what remote do you have?
