The season four premiere was last night, not a bad start. Was somewhat disappointed in the change of actors playing Daario but am geeked to see Arya becoming quite the bad ass! I hope she ends up giving that bastard brat Joffery a proctology exam with Needle.

yeah, I didn't like actor change too :( I liked Daario in 3rd season more, it was more.... more....like in book. New Daario is too cute. Still loved the episode though, can't wait for next one!

It's official now :
When I grow up I am going to be Sandor Clegane...just call me Hound :)

"Your a talker...talkers make me thirsty...make me hungry too...get me that chicken" then proceeds to kill 5 scumbags.

"I am not a thief...I have a code"

Araya: "Lots of people name their swords"
Hound: "Yea...lots of cunts"

He just knows when to say the most profane things at such the right time lol

And the big thing ...I guess you don't mess with a dragon while its trying to eat...dragon mother or not
Little mister fire-breather, kicked some attitude last night!
That scene actually caught me off guard :)

Guess I will have to get a new avatar since the king ended up getting "fucked" .

I almost felt...almost...felt bad watching that little fuck of an abomination die last night :)

I am not sure how should I feel about that?

I took almost joy in killing him off last night...I'm sure the Germans have some kind of word for it.

So far, so bloody good on GoT's this season :)

I was so happy about it i'm going to watch the episode again tonight. May even put that scene on an endless loop so I can watch just that when I'm feeling down. :thumbleft:

RIP Joffrey.

You cunt.

Watching it I had a feeling he was going to die, didn't lessen the enjoyment though.

Hope there's a scene later in the season where Arya digs up his corpse and goes to work with needle. It'd be good therapy for her :-D

Possibly the best few pages of script ever! He's good in the books, but they do him so well in the series!

I'm not entirely sure about them making the Viper Bisexual... It's a bit random and off the original.

With Daario neither of the actors they've have looks anything like the Daario from the books, but I preferred the personality of the last actor, there was something very dangerous about him. This one just seems like a regular knight. My boyfriend is convinced that Daario is Jaqen H'ghar, so hey, maybe he just changed his face :p but I'm not so sure, I do think though that Jaqen might be the same as Syrio Forel though.

They really found the perfect actor for the Hound. My favorite line from the exchange between the Hound and Polliver was: "You lived your life for the king. Now you're going to die for some chickens?" "Someone is."

I thought that at some point the books suggested that he was bisexual. It was a one-off line or a rumor to the effect of bedding men and women. I might be inventing memories though.

You may be right, I can't remember anything being mentioned or hinted at and I'm usually very quick to pick stuff up from books, but they are long books so I could have missed it. My boyfriend was looking at stuff on the net and there were a load of people apparently commenting on it and how it wasn't in the books. If it was mentioned in the books it definitely wasn't a big deal.

Yeah, you're definitely right that even if it was in the books, it was not a major part of his characterization. The show is a lot less subtle about those sorts of things, which can be jarring. I had entirely missed that Renly was gay when I read the books, but HBO was pretty clear about that one.

I looked it up and it did say that there were some rumoured references about the Viper so I definitely missed those. I'm still not keen on it being made such a big deal, it just seems a bit off subject. I watched the first season before reading the books so I knew Renly was gay from the beginning, you're right, they didn't put as much in. The first few books were definitely less sexual than the series, which is funny because they made the 3rd season less sexual when that book actually has quite a bit of action in it. I was very surprised that they didn't jump on board with Daenary's being fingered by her handmaiden.

I wasn't too satisfied with the last episode. I very much dislike when they exclude Daenerys, but oh well. My main thought is I don't feel that little dick bag got what he deserved, good riddance of course, but it felt too... easy/simple. I wasn't gratified with the method, I guess. I haven't read that far into the books, so I don't know how true that scene was vs. the books.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the actress who plays Daenarys refused to do some scenes that were planned as she felt they were too gratuitous. So that could well be the scene in question.

I feel silly linking to something called "gossipcop" but there you have it!

From A Storm Of Swords. Chapter 62 Jaime (near the very end)

“You do.” Lord Tywin rose as well. “A duty to House Lannister. You are the heir to Casterly Rock. That is where you should be. Tommen should accompany you, as your ward and squire. The Rock is where he’ll learn to be a Lannister, and I want him away from his mother. I mean to find a new husband for Cersei. Oberyn Martell perhaps, once I convince Lord Tyrell that the match does not threaten Highgarden. And it is past time you were wed. The Tyrells are now insisting that Margaery be wed to Tommen, but if I were to offer you instead—”

“NO!” Jaime had heard all that he could stand. No, more than he could stand. He was sick of it, sick of lords and lies, sick of his father, his sister, sick of the whole bloody business. “No. No. No. No. No. How many times must I say no before you’ll hear it? Oberyn Martell? The man’s infamous, and not just for poisoning his sword. He has more bastards than Robert, and beds with boys as well. And if you think for one misbegotten moment that I would wed Joffrey’s widow . . . ”

Well reading Dances with Dragons, I'm reasonably sure that Lena Hedley (who plays cersei) said "fuck off I'm not doing that" when she read it.

Danery's dosen't have any major clothing free adventures in any of the published books, apart from taking her handmaidens to bed, so I doubt she has anything to complain about. They might have tried to get her to ride a dragon naked, but that isn't really in the book either.

I think the reason they didn't do some of the scenes is because people complained that there was too much sex in the first season.

The guy who plays Joffery is lucky really having a strong irish accent and generally being very likeable as it totally stops any mix ups with him and the character he was playing. He was very well cast.

He's lucky he is doesn't live in the US. I remember David Stiers (who played Charles Winchester) in series M.A.S.H. back in what must have been the 80s saying he was getting death threats and attacked by middle aged women because they thought he had arranged for Larry Linley (whom played Frank Burns) to be replaced in the show. He said it was nice to be in Australia where the audiences were not so challenged in telling reality fromn TV.

Things have not improved much. This is TMZ commenting on Jay Z & Beyonce walking in a park in Ireland: http://www.tmz.com/videos/0_rdj9zkw2/

And the Irish responce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3ixMV4jYN8

Anyone else cringe when it went from a scene with Reek/Theon to Tyrion knifing some sausage? Did they do that on purpose, or am I reading too much into that? Because... seriously, pained looking Theon -scene change- sausage being skewered.

Personally, I fast forwarded any sausage related things. :?

I'm not sure if cringe was the right word; I doubled up, tensed and checked three different times to be sure I was still...ummmmmm..."sausaged.". Thankfully, I am.
