I drink Cafe Du Monde coffee made with chicory. It's a New Orleans tradition and its quite yummy tho some people hate it. My grandparents are addicted and demand i send home crates of 'that coffee stuff"

we use a mr coffee for regular coffee, but often will use a french press and grind beans. Duke's dad operates a small coffee shop and has his own blend. I'm.. not willing to post details here but if any camgirls would be interested in trying it just message me. You have to like, call him and order it though LOL. He's kinda old school. And probably pay with a check in the mail, cos he doesn't do cards.
I sometimes drink chicory coffee because my stomach is a little bitch who can't handle the real stuff. It's good! I've also brewed it with regular coffee and that's awesome. Lately I've been experimenting with the stomach-friendly coffees and those are a godsend; caffe sanora is my favorite.

I miss being able to just order a normal coffee but I've been pretty jazzed about finding alternatives that don't turn me into a ball on the couch.

We have a keurig, but I mostly just use it to make sweetened, flavored iced coffee. I don't like the taste of strong coffee, so for me this works pretty well -- I've found a few brands/flavors that I really like.

I can definitely see why most people would prefer something higher quality, though.

We have an insulated french press which is great for taking back to bed; a large filter machine, which is great for making a large pot to last a couple of hours and a Nespresso machine which is great great great...the best thing ever.

Slightly off topic, tea I always make in a pot using loose leaves and as a coffee alternative will have "Barley Cup".

It's a weird thing, but, I only buy organic fair trade coffee/rainforest alliance certified--which seems to be getting harder at my local grocery store. Not trying to be a preacher, it's just what I look for at the store. I'm missing out on a ton of great flavors, I know. It's more of a habit in the morning soo coffee is something I haven't gotten all that in to.

I totally expect it to be a marketing scam but until i know more I'll probably keep trying them.

I used to try going to the coffee shops in the neighborhood for the conversation and would buy the iced coffee (double expresso in that puppy) but that stuff, while amazingly tasty, made me super hyper and I would wear out my rug pacing after the conversation ended and I went home. :wideyed:

I was watching a documentary on coffee once and they claimed that the french press brewed the most perfect cup of coffee. I have yet to experience this myself.

I've seen the nespresso commercials and they certainly make it look appealing. I have an olddd Keurig from when they first came out, a standard coffee pot, and a frother that I have never figured out how to operate in a way that actually improves the taste of my coffee.

I'm a latte girl in the winter, and an iced coffee fanatic in the summer. I love anything nutty. Hazelnut, Vanilla Nut, Chestnut (Starbucks seasonal), Toasted Almond (Dunkin Donuts), and Pecan Praline (Van Houtte makes an excellent K-cup of this one) to name few.

Unfortunately as of late, I have been unable to drink caffeine without mega panic, so I have been drinking decaf, and the selections are so so so limited. For the record, decaf still has caffeine, just very little amounts -- The dose ranges from 8.6 mg to 13.9 mg. (A generic brewed cup of regular coffee typically contains between 95 and 200 mg, as a point of comparison.) Dunkin Donuts decaf is VERY strong and they (at least in my area) tend to accidentally give you caffeinated, while Starbucks is perfect.

Then again, I was never really one to drink coffee for the caffeine, it's the taste and the experience I enjoy the most.

I posted this in another forum, but it seems fitting to post it hear as well... For all you people trying to make a quick cup of iced coffee at home!

Step 1. make a cup of regular hot coffee in a mug.
Step 2. Fill 16 oz tumbler with five or six ice cubes, your cream/milk/etc, and liquid sugar (Torani is my favorite)
Step 3. Pour hot coffee into tumbler.

The ice will melt slightly but the cold creamer will prevent the coffee from being watered down and the result is a quick perfect iced coffee.

I personally use Hazelnut creamer which is so sweet on it's own, I don't even add sugar.

Enjoy! :hungry:

I've done this!! In the summer I freeze coffee in ice cube trays so I can toss them in iced coffee (or smoothies!) without watering it down. Soooo good and convenient!

I've tried to that way too, but I didn't like how much room it took in the freezer. And it seemed to affect the taste a little bit to me, especially if you didn't use the cubes fast enough. But it's definitely another great quick way.

Has anyone ever seen a Royal Belgian (Syphon) Coffee Maker in action (or actually enjoyed a cup of it's coffee)? A fellow, coffee-loving member pointed me in this machine's direction and it's been my wet dream ever since. It's excessive and ostentatious, but damn it looks nifty! What can I say, I like my coffee with a hint of elegance and science ;)

latest idea for a mocha this will be strong.

heat 2 cups of half and half to that add 1/8 cup coffee wrapped in cheese cloth let seep for 10 min
pull the coffee and melt the head of one solid milk chocolate rabbit. drink warm or pour over coffee ice cubes
for the coffee ice cubes: make some strong coffee and freeze in an ice tray
