Hello. I am both a broadcaster (fledgling) and a purveyor of rooms. I am also a Supporter level user and am very respectful in both public and private conversations.

Last night (Nov 26, 2024 at 2:47 AM EST), a user in a room posted 2 comments in Russian, with a gif of a black woman making an exaggerated face in a movie. The model read the comments aloud and burst out laughing for probably 30 seconds.

Curious, I copy and pasted the lines into google translate and it turned out to be an extremely offensive and racist 'joke'. I commented, mentioning the @UserName, asking why was the racism necessary. No reply, no comment from either of the TWO room mods or the broadcaster.

I reported both of the comments to CB in the users popup dialog and took a screenshot of the offensive comments. After about 20 minutes of the same user continuing to post, I used the Apple 'translate' feature for images and took a screenshot of what the user said in context.

I then posted (to the best of my recollection): "Hey <model name>, I think you're very funny and sweet, but I can't in good conscience follow and support you for laughing at and leaving the racist comments from <username> active in the chat. Good luck to you in the future." I attached the translated screenshot, unfollowed and waited for a response from her or the mods. None came, so I left the room and shortly after went to bed.

Cut to 6 hours or so later. I grab my coffee, sit down and am greeted with the dreaded 'We have reason to believe that you may have violated our terms of service' message. I filled out the Support form asking what happened, then it occurred to me that it may have been posting the translated 'joke' image. I checked the account of the user who posted the original Russian text joke and it too is banned. The model in questions has 428k users, so I do not expect that it will be banned.

So I guess my question is: is this the sort of thing that support will recognize as an unintended offense? I have several thousand tokens in limbo, as well as followers, fan club memberships and more. I was attempting to be a good community member but acknowledge that I could have been more subtle.

Thanks for any and all advice.

Hi @punker barbie. Do you think there is any chance of my account getting a second chance, or should I abandon all hope?
Update: I have confirmed that the support team has responded to your inquiry. Ticket #23954108
