I know *so many* immigrants that crossed the border illegally and let me tell you... A majority of those are the most hardworking people I know. Like someone stated before, not everyone has the money for visas or maybe couldn't get one. They want a chance at a better life, which many of them will get here. Yes, some are not the greatest but that is just SOME. Some really shitty people come over with visas. Like shitty people are going to get in one way or another.

Also if you want to vote for Trump solely based on his views on immigration... Man. :shake:

I personally have a *lot* of issues with Trump's views on well... Mostly everything. So I won't sit and pick that apart. But even if I did agree with what he said, I would never want such a fucking asshole as a president. He doesn't like that you want to debate him on a topic? Calls you a stupid moron. I personally would never want a man representing my country who has zero respect for the people living in it. And can you imagine the things he would say to other political figure heads in other countries? *shudders* You need a thicker skin to deal with representing a country.

Edit to add:

Does he have any political experience? It seems bananas that you could run for president without, or at least be taken at all seriously in one of the two major parties. But I guess he has celebrity on his side.

To be fair, of the 44 presidents of the United States, three -- Zachary Taylor, Ulysses S. Grant, and Dwight Eisenhower -- have taken office without political experience (however, they all had high-level military experience to make up for it).

On an amusing sidenote, many non-humans have been elected to lower levels of public office.
An example would be Boston Curtis, a brown mule, whom was offered as a candidate for a Republican precinct seat in Milton, Washington in 1938, winning 51 to zero. His "more oats" platform was a massive hit.

Donald Trump is unelectable. His entire campaign is designed to appeal to the voters who assemble their political opinions based on emotional responses and simplistic jingoism. Now, in the US (and many other countries), this is not a small number of people. If you like the idea that "Mexicans are bad for the economy" or whatever, then you're going to stick to that despite the tidal wave of data and facts that demonstrate the opposite (i.e. that a good economy is what attracts immigrants). Why not? It's simple, and it positions you as "better" than other people while simultaneously being the victim. It's very seductive and takes a real effort of heavy thinking to dig yourself out of. Why should you bother?

If Donald Trump runs on an independent ticket (and he's more or less said he would in the first Fox News debate, as the only guy on the dais who said he would not necessarily support the chosen one of the GOP), then the GOP is going to have to find some way to take him out, because he will split their vote. Even GOP stalwarts will get sick of the relentless "The Opposite Of Whatever Obama Says" strategy if it's extended into a Clinton (or whichever Democrat) administration.

Remember, right-wing conservatives are not stupid; they just have different ways of processing information. And however big and scary Donald Trump thinks he is, the GOP are bigger and scarier.

I hope it's not for a while. As bad as his "policies" are towards people, he's keeping the republican party on their feet. But, it won't last for a while... as he's not a serous candidate for office.

I personally belief is a plant used by Hilary. He has stated in the past we was a democrat and invited Hilary to his wedding. He is nothing but a troll, an entertaining one but still a troll.

As a person who defies so many social norms, any time I hear anything about the GOP, Trump or otherwise, I fear for being a woman in this country.

Half my family (conservative and Mexican) used to totally support this guy.
Until....ya know..
It worries me because I actually do think this guy has a shot and aside from Sanders, no candidate on either side is appealing to me.
Let's just hope he can go on some more rants that offend and lose more supporters?
My non-US members on MFC tell me he's one of the big reasons the US is seen as a joke...
