2024 my effective total tax rate on income was 33,4%, but consider that then I don't have to pay for health insurance and a lot of other things that comes on top of the taxes in the US....
That there alone. after I factor in taxes AND the cost of "healthcare", I think I'm paying a bit more but I do get more bureaucracy for my dollar! #merica

...and could not live in a place where the price I saw on the shelf in the store was not the price I had to pay at the register. ;)

Also what @Vixxen81 said sounds perfectly reasonable to me, when I hear about Americans spending a long time doing their taxes I think why? I t takes me about 10 minutes...if the log in process is slow.
It's all the deductions and head of household/single/married/recently divorced, bought a house/sold a house/inherited a house, had a kid before the end of that tax year, and stocks/investments and charitable donations... it is literally the worst system of doing taxes on earth.

His two biggest complaints were prices not being as is on the sticker and double taxation of things. You buy a car from a dealership, you pay sales tax there. You go to get your license plate(s) and necessary stickers and there's an ad valorum tax on the value of the car...things like that.

33.4? So maybe not Sweden and not self employed?

Edit: well guess it could still be Sweden I don't know income level
No, Denmark. 33,4% is my total income tax plus social contribution/total income. I pay 47% on the last earned 'dollar'. I believe the highest rate this year is 56% on the last earned 'dollar'.

In total the Danish government collects 44,9% of GDP in revenue, so that is the effective total Danish tax rate, but allow me to be a bit snarky, Denmark had a budget surplus of 3,3% last year, USA had a deficit of about 6%, Danish debt is 30% of GDP, US debt is 125%, The US numbers might be a bit different if their government collected more revenue.

Sorry, I get a bit passionate about this, but many outsiders only hear the part of the story that we pay an awful lot in taxes, if they had some knowledge of Danish society they would know that we get a lot of benefits for our taxes. Sure we moan about taxes as much as other places, but at the end of the day 90% of us know that we get more benefits from our taxes than we would have it we had to pay individually. (No political party that promised massive tax cuts have achieved more than 15% the vote for parliament in my life time)

When my boss told me the differences I was like how can I move there? Clean streets, no rats, 12 weeks of vacation, healthcare...new moms and dads get equal rights and time with the newborn? It's Utopia.

I have never had health insurance in my entire adult life and paid that stupid penalty for not having it (an actual tax for not paying $900 a month for insurance)...

Denmark, yes please

I recognize the tje that is definitive of the Denmark...speak.

On the original question, I cannot think why any tipper would want to urge a model to accept payment via OF for a show or action performed on a token site.
Other than maybe they have a partner who could see their credit card statements, and would find it easier to explain away OF than a token site billing partner?

If the model was the one requesting that payment method, then I'd suspect it may be around a better deal cashing out their OF balance than from tokens (especially if they weren't in the US, as there would be additional US$ to local currency or crypto conversion factors), but sounds like it's the user wanting to pay on OF.........

Your former boss was exaggerating, we don't get 12 weeks vacation, the law only gives us 5 weeks, of course then there is the week I get from the unions agreement with the companies...and the and extra 4 days my employer gives me...oh, I almost forgot the 8 or 9 bank holidays, but that is only 8.5 weeks off during the year. And you have to take into account the gruelling fact that I work almost 35 hours a week, it takes a lot of time recuperating from that.
😉😜

He worked for his dad. He could take as much time off as he wanted and they closed every Easter, July, and Christmas for two weeks straight. 😄

As someone who moved from a country w high taxes to the US honestly I’d rather do the high taxes and even the waitlists for healthcare.

The main thing Iiked about the US was low cost of housing and cost of living but now I’ve landed in the NorthEast and this damn inflation and I did a comparison and the only places where it would be more expensive to live in the capital of NZ vs my area in the US was in automobiles and gas cost. Childcare was similarly expensive, housing was comparable and everything else was slightly cheaper in nz

So what tf am I doing here lol 😂

If you like any American products and must have them, be prepared to pay out both nostrils for it. I think a 12 pack of Coke in Australia was $48.

… uh sorry what?

Is this new? Coke has always been normal prices in aus and nz Dr Pepper however had to be imported specially so that was high

Hmm maybe I am confusing it with Dr. Pepper? This was years ago from someone from New Zealand who moved to Australia. Perhaps he was teasing me. :)
Yeah I think so haha. Some things are pricy if they aren’t popular enough to have like mass distribution, but most American products are fine. And I mean it’s that way anywhere if you want some specialty foreign thing. I also notice more and more American infiltration every time I go home - pop tarts are there now :/

Maybe not for much longer since US and AUS banned red dye no 3 this month. Almost all American snacks have it.
